    A Novel Mobile Personalized Recommended Method Based on Money Flow Model for Stock Exchange

    Personalized recommended method is widely used to recommend commodities for target customers in e-commerce sector. The core idea of merchandise personalized recommendation can be applied to financial field, which can also achieve stock personalized recommendation. This paper proposes a new recommended method using collaborative filtering based on user fuzzy clustering and predicts the trend of those stocks based on money flow. We use M/G/1 queue system with multiple vacations and server close-down time to measure practical money flow. Based on the indicated results of money flow, we can select the more valued stock to recommend to investors. The experimental results show that the proposed method provides investors with reliable practical investment guidance and receiving more returns

    Lithospheric Conductivity Structure in the Middle Segment of the Jiangnan Orogenic Belt: Insights into Neoproterozoic Tectonic–Magmatic Processes

    The Jiangnan Orogenic Belt (JOB) evolved from the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks through multi-stage oceanic-continental subduction, collisional orogeny, and intracontinental deformation, which is an important region to study the formation and evolution of the South China Continent (SCC). Magnetotelluric soundings were collected along a 520-km-long northwest (NW)-trending profile across the middle segment of the JOB to explore the possible remnants of ancient tectonic–magmatic processes beneath the central SCC by combining with the satellite gravity and magnetic data. The resistivity model reveals that the crust in the middle segment of the JOB and its adjacent area is characterized by high resistivity anomalies, while the uppermost mantle is characterized as medium resistivity anomalies and separated by several subvertical, lithospheric-scale conductors. Two trans-crust anomalies of high conductivity and low density beneath the Jiujiang–Shitai Buried fault (JSBF) and Jiangshan–Shaoxing fault (JSF) extend south-eastward to the lithosphere, which are attributed to the NW and southeast boundaries of the middle segment of the JOB. The imaged NW-trending of JSF reflects the tectonic process of the JOB subducting under the Cathaysia Block. Two lower-crustal conductors also imaged beneath the Jiuling area are interpreted as the partial melting of the lower crust, which may be related to the deep southeast subduction of the Paleo-south China Ocean during 970 to 860 Ma. In addition, the trans-lithosphere high conductivity adjacent to the ancient collisional zone of the Jinning period II (ACZII) is probably related to the asthenosphere upwelling caused by the soft collision between the Yangtze and Cathaysia Blocks, which triggered the contemporaneous magmatism in the Jiuling area.     Observation of room-temperature ferroelectricity in elemental Te nanowires

    Ferroelectrics are essential in low-dimensional memory devices for multi-bit storage and high-density integration. A polar structure is a necessary premise for ferroelectricity, mainly existing in compounds. However, it is usually rare in elemental materials, causing a lack of spontaneous electric polarization. Here, we report an unexpected room-temperature ferroelectricity in few-chain Te nanowires. Out-of-plane ferroelectric loops and domain reversal are observed by piezoresponse force microscopy. Through density functional theory, we attribute the ferroelectricity to the ion-displacement created by the interlayer interaction between lone pair electrons. Ferroelectric polarization can induce a strong field effect on the transport along the Te chain, supporting a self-gated field-effect transistor. It enables a nonvolatile memory with high in-plane mobility, zero supply voltage, multilevel resistive states, and a high on/off ratio. Our work provides new opportunities for elemental ferroelectrics with polar structures and paves a way towards applications such as low-power dissipation electronics and computing-in-memory devices

    LTF induces senescence and degeneration in the meniscus via the NF-ÎşB signaling pathway: A study based on integrated bioinformatics analysis and experimental validation

    Background: The functional integrity of the meniscus continually decreases with age, leading to meniscal degeneration and gradually developing into osteoarthritis (OA). In this study, we identified diagnostic markers and potential mechanisms of action in aging-related meniscal degeneration through bioinformatics and experimental verification.Methods: Based on the GSE98918 dataset, common differentially expressed genes (co-DEGs) were screened using differential expression analysis and the WGCNA algorithm, and enrichment analyses based on Gene Ontology (GO) terms and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways were further performed. Next, the co-DEGs were imported into the STRING database and Cytoscape to construct a protein‒protein interaction (PPI) network and further validated by three algorithms in cytoHubba, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis and the external GSE45233 dataset. Moreover, the diagnostic marker lactotransferrin (LTF) was verified in rat models of senescence and replicative cellular senescence via RT‒qPCR, WB, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, and then the potential molecular mechanism was explored by loss of function and overexpression of LTF.Results: According to the analysis of the GSE98918 dataset, we identified 52 co-DEGs (42 upregulated genes and 10 downregulated genes) in the OA meniscus. LTF, screened out by Cytoscape, ROC curve analysis in the GSE98918 dataset and another external GSE45233 dataset, might have good predictive power in meniscal degeneration. Our experimental results showed that LTF expression was statistically increased in the meniscal tissue of aged rats (24 months) and senescent passage 5th (P5) meniscal cells. In P5 meniscal cells, LTF knockdown inhibited the NF-κB signaling pathway and alleviated senescence. LTF overexpression in passage 0 (P0) meniscal cells increased the expression of senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) and induced senescence by activating the NF-κB signaling pathway. However, the senescence phenomenon caused by LTF overexpression could be reversed by the NF-κB inhibitor pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC).Conclusion: For the first time, we found that increased expression of LTF was observed in the aging meniscus and could induce meniscal senescence and degeneration by activating the NF-κB signaling pathway. These results revealed that LTF could be a potential diagnostic marker and therapeutic target for age-related meniscal degeneration

    The potential of a targeted unilateral compound training program to reduce lower limb strength asymmetry and increase performance: a proof-of-concept in basketball

    ObjectiveThis study investigates the efficacy of training methodologies aimed at mitigating asymmetries in lower limb strength and explosiveness among basketball players.MethodsThirty male university basketball athletes were enrolled in this research. Initial assessments were made regarding their physical attributes, strength, and explosiveness. Subsequently, the participants were randomly allocated into two groups: an experimental group (EG, n = 15) and a control group (CG, n = 15). Over 10 weeks, the EG engaged in a unilateral compound training regimen, incorporating resistance training exercises such as split squats, Bulgarian split squats, box step-ups, and single-leg calf raises (non-dominant leg: three sets of six repetitions; dominant leg: one set of six repetitions) and plyometric drills including lunge jumps, single-leg hops with back foot raise, single-leg lateral jumps, and single-leg continuous hopping (non-dominant leg: three sets of 12 repetitions; dominant leg: one set of 12 repetitions). The CG continued with their standard training routine. Assessments of limb asymmetry and athletic performance were conducted before and after the intervention to evaluate changes.Results1) Body morphology assessments showed limb length and circumference discrepancies of less than 3 cm. The initial average asymmetry percentages in the single-leg countermovement jump (SLCMJ) for jump height, power, and impulse were 15.56%, 12.4%, and 4.48%, respectively. 2) Post-intervention, the EG demonstrated a significant reduction in the asymmetry percentages of SLCMJ height and power (p < 0.01), along with improvements in the isometric mid-thigh pull (IMTP) test metrics (p < 0.05). 3) The EG also showed marked enhancements in the double-leg countermovement jump (CMJ) and standing long jump (SLJ) outcomes compared to the CG (p < 0.01), as well as in squat performance (p < 0.05).ConclusionThe 10-week unilateral compound training program effectively reduced the asymmetry in lower limb strength and explosiveness among elite male university basketball players, contributing to increased maximal strength and explosiveness

    Adherence to oxidative balance score is inversely associated with the prevalence of stroke: results from National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 1999–2018

    IntroductionThe relationship between oxidative balance score (OBS), an emerging integrative metric for assessing individual redox homeostasis, and the prevalence of stroke in the general population remains unknown. We aimed to explore these relationships in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). We investigated the relationship between the oxidative balance score (OBS) and stroke prevalence using NHANES data from 1999–2018.MethodsWe included eligible individuals from NHANES 1999–2018. OBS calculations were based on previously validated methods, and stroke diagnoses were based on self-reports in questionnaires. Multivariable logistic regression analyses were used to examine the independent associations of overall, dietary, and lifestyle OBS with stroke prevalence. In addition, restricted cubic spline (RCS), stratified analysis, and sensitivity analysis were used.ResultsWe included 25,258 participants aged 20–85 years, in which the prevalence of stroke was 2.66%. After adjusting for all confounders, overall and dietary OBS, but not lifestyle OBS, were inversely associated with the prevalence of stroke [odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals of 0.97 (0.96, 0.99) and 0.98 (0.96, 0.99) for overall and dietary OBS, respectively, both p < 0.05]. In addition, there was a dose-response relationship between overall and dietary OBS and stroke prevalence. The RCS showed that these relationships were linear. Stratified analyses indicated that socioeconomic status (SES) significantly influenced the relationship between all OBS and stroke prevalence.ConclusionDietary OBS, but not lifestyle OBS, had an inverse relationship with the prevalence of stroke in the general population. SES significantly influenced the protective effect of OBS against stroke. These findings emphasize the importance of integrated antioxidant properties from diet for stroke prevention

    Atherosclerosis, a chronic inflammatory condition primarily affecting large and medium arteries, is the main cause of cardiovascular diseases. Macrophages are key mediators of inflammatory responses. They are involved in all stages of atherosclerosis development and progression, from plaque formation to transition into vulnerable plaques, and are considered important therapeutic targets. Increasing evidence suggests that the modulation of macrophage polarization can effectively control the progression of atherosclerosis. Herein, we explore the role of macrophage polarization in the progression of atherosclerosis and summarize emerging therapies for the regulation of macrophage polarization. Thus, the aim is to inspire new avenues of research in disease mechanisms and clinical prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis

    Dietary licorice flavonoids powder improves serum antioxidant capacity and immune organ inflammatory responses in weaned piglets

    Weaning often induces oxidative stress and inflammatory response in piglets. This study investigated the effects of dietary licorice flavonoids powder (LFP) supplementation on antioxidant capacity and immunity in weaned piglets. Notably, 96 Landrace × Yorkshire × Duroc (DLY) weaned piglets were randomly allocated to four treatments with 6 replicates (4 animals per replicate) and fed with diet supplementation with 0, 50, 150, and 250 mg/kg LFP, respectively. The trial lasted for 5 weeks. The results showed that dietary LFP supplementation effectively increased the liver index (P < 0.05). In addition, dietary LFP supplementation reduced serum aspartate aminotransferase activity (P < 0.01). Piglets fed with 50 mg/kg LFP decreased total cholesterol and HDL-C content in serum (P < 0.05) and increased serum alkaline phosphatase activity (P < 0.01). Similarly, supplementation with 150 mg/kg LFP elevated the activity of total antioxidant capability (T-AOC) in serum (P < 0.01) and dietary with 150 and 250 mg/kg LFP increased T-AOC activity in spleen (P < 0.01). Moreover, dietary with 150 mg/kg LFP addition enhanced (P < 0.05) the serum IgG content of piglets. Additionally, compared with the control group, dietary 250 mg/kg LFP supplementation upregulated (P < 0.05) the mRNA abundance of Interleukin (IL)-1β and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1) in the spleen. Meanwhile, dietary 150 and 250 mg/kg LFP supplementation downregulated (P < 0.05) mRNA abundance of IL-10, and MCP-1 and 250 mg/kg LFP upregulated (P < 0.05) the expression of intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1), IL-1β, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) in the thymus. In conclusion, LFP supplementation improved the immune function of piglets by regulating the activity of serum biochemical enzymes, improving the antioxidant capacity, and alleviating inflammation of immune organs. This study indicated that LFP is potential alternative protection against early weaned stress in piglets
