AIM: To assess the diagnostic value of age for meridional amblyopia by Logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.<p>METHODS: A total of 1 005 children(1 910 eyes)with unknown ocular abnormalities other than with-the-rule astigmatism(aged 4-8 years)were recruited. Astigmatism >or =1.00D and sphere < or = 3.00D were present in one or both eyes. The difference of sphere between both eyes was less 1.50D. The difference of astigmatism between both eyes was less 1.00D. All astigmatism was calculated by the absolute value. By analyzing age, sex, astigmatism type, diopter of cylinder and diopter of sphere with Logistic regression, two mathematical models were established. Then the diagnostic efficacy of the model was assessed using the ROC curve.<p>RESULTS: The model 1 included 4 parameters(sex, astigmatism type, diopter of cylinder and diopter of sphere). The model 2 included 5 parameters(the 4 parameters of the model 1 adding age). Using Logistic regression, the diopter of cylinder had an influence on the diagnosis of meridional amblyopia in two models. In model 2, age was another influencing factor on the diagnosis of meridional amblyopia. The model 1 area under ROC curve(AUC)was 0.64, and the model 2 was 0.74. The area of model 2 was greater than the model 1. There was statistical difference in the AUC of two models(<i>P</i><0.05).<p>CONCLUSION: Age might be an influential factor on the diagnosis of meridional amblyopia using Logistic regression and ROC curve

Adaptive Weighted Morphology Detection Algorithm of Plane Object in Docking Guidance System

In this paper, we presented an image segmentation algorithm based on adaptive weighted mathematical morphology edge detectors. The performance of the proposed algorithm has been demonstrated on the Lena image. The input of the proposed algorithm is a grey level image. The image was first processed by the mathematical morphological closing and dilation residue edge detector to enhance the edge features and sketch out the contour of the image, respectively. Then the adaptive weight SE operation was applied to the edge-extracted image to fuse edge gaps and hill up holds. Experimental results show it can not only primely extract detail edge, but also superbly preserve integer effect comparative to classical edge detection algorithm

Finding out all locally indistinguishable sets of generalized Bell states

In general, for a bipartite quantum system CdCd\mathbb{C}^{d}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{d} and an integer kk such that 4kd4\leq k\le d,there are few necessary and sufficient conditions for local discrimination of sets of kk generalized Bell states (GBSs) and it is difficult to locally distinguish kk-GBS sets. The purpose of this paper is to completely solve the problem of local discrimination of GBS sets in some bipartite quantum systems.Firstly three practical and effective sufficient conditions are given,Fan,^{,}s and Wang et al.,^{,}s results [Phys Rev Lett 92, 177905 (2004); Phys Rev A 99, 022307 (2019)] can be deduced as special cases of these conditions.Secondly in C4C4\mathbb{C}^{4}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{4}, a necessary and sufficient condition for local discrimination of GBS sets is provided, and a list of all locally indistinguishable 4-GBS sets is provided, and then the problem of local discrimination of GBS sets is completely solved. In C5C5\mathbb{C}^{5}\otimes\mathbb{C}^{5}, a concise necessary and sufficient condition for one-way local discrimination of GBS sets is obtained, which gives an affirmative answer to the case d=5d=5 of the problem proposed by Wang et al.Comment: 10 pages, 2 table

AbstractVirtual battlefield environment is the use of computer technology, graphics technology and virtual reality technology to the real battle space in the computer. As technology advances and development, virtual battlefield environment system has been applied more and more combat troops and combat command being. Virtual Battlefield Environment Simulation System is a system for the commander to provide a realistic battlefield environment to facilitate their understanding of the terrain, the battlefield awareness information. In this paper, two-dimensional battlefield maps based on MapObject structures and the construction of three-dimensional virtual battlefield environment problem, a second, three-dimensional virtual battlefield environment with the rapid construction techniques. Operational commanders can quickly build a virtual battlefield, not only from the macro real-time battlefield information and to grasp the battlefield situation, but also learned from the battlefield of detailed microscopic details

A multichannel thiacalix[4]arene-based fluorescent chemosensor for Zn²⁺, F⁻ ions and imaging of living cells

The fluorescent sensor (3) based on the 1,3-alternate conformation of the thiacalix[4]arene bearing the coumarin fluorophore, appended via an imino group, has been synthesised. Sensing properties were evaluated in terms of a colorimetric and fluorescence sensor for Zn 2+ and F - . High selectivity and excellent sensitivity were exhibited, and off-on optical behaviour in different media was observed. All changes were visible to the naked eye, whilst the presence of the Zn 2+ and F - induces fluorescence enhancement and the formation of a 1:1 complex with 3. In addition, 3 exhibits low cytotoxicity and good cell permeability and can readily be employed for assessing the change of intracellular levels of Zn 2+ and F -

Effects of Salt Concentrations and Nitrogen and Phosphorus Starvations on Neutral Lipid Contents in the Green Microalga Dunaliella tertiolecta

Dunaliella tertiolecta, a halotolerant alga, can accumulate large amounts of neutral lipid, which makes it a potential biodiesel feedstock. In this study, neutral lipids of D. tertiolecta induced by different salinities or N or P starvation were analyzed by thin-layer chromatography (TLC), flow cytometry (FCM), and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). High salinities or N or P starvation resulted in a decrease in cell growth and chlorophyll contents of D. tertiolecta. Neutral lipid contents increased markedly after 3-7 days of N starvation or at low NaCl concentrations (0.5-2.0 M). N starvation had a more dramatic effect on the neutral lipid contents of D. tertiolecta than P starvation. Four putative ME isozymes in different conditions can be detected by using isozyme electrophoresis. Two alternative acetyl-CoA producers, ACL and ACS genes, were up-regulated under low salinities and N starvation. It was suggested that low salinities and N starvation are considered efficient ways to stimulate lipid accumulation in D. tertiolecta.</p

Cross-linked CoMoO4/rGO nanosheets as oxygen reduction catalyst

Development of inexpensive and robust electrocatalysts towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is crucial for the cost-affordable manufacturing of metal-air batteries and fuel cells. Here we show that cross-linked CoMoO4 nanosheets and reduced graphene oxide (CoMoO4/rGO) can be integrated in a hybrid material under one-pot hydrothermal conditions, yielding a composite material with promising catalytic activity for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) were used to investigate the efficiency of the fabricated CoMoO4/rGO catalyst towards ORR in alkaline conditions. The CoMoO4/rGO composite revealed the main reduction peak and onset potential centered at 0.78 and 0.89 V (vs. RHE), respectively. This study shows that the CoMoO4/rGO composite is a highly promising catalyst for the ORR under alkaline conditions, and potential noble metal replacement cathode in fuel cells and metal-air batteries
