    This study presents, summarizes, and analyzes the results of 178 Groups Support Systems (GSS) experiments based on categories of groups per treatment condition. The results suggest that for studies designed with less than 7 groups per condition there are significantly lower probabilities of finding significant differences. Task type and GSS type further moderate these results

    AMCIS 2006 Tutorial Paper: A Review of Methods to Assess National Knowledge in the Knowledge Economy

    The evolving role of knowledge in modern societies has spurred an interest in better evaluating knowledge creation capabilities of a variety of business, non-profit, national or multinational actors. Our field has extensively focused on reviewing knowledge management evaluation and implementation programs at the organizational level. In this paper, which stems from a tutorial presented at AMICS 2006 in Acapulco, we focus on the efforts undertaken by International Development Institutions (IDIs) to assess the role of knowledge as a driver of national wealth and economic development. This paper describes methodological frameworks - such as the knowledge assessments - used to evaluate a country\u27s potential to generate new knowledge. Knowledge assessments comprise of qualitative and quantitative exercises to collect benchmarking data on relative national standing in knowledge endowment (the knowledge indexes). The review suggests some open issues and solicits enhancing the predictive capabilities of current models

While the use of the Internet for commercehas been coincidental, it must now be further developed based on a strong partnership involving the government, the industry, and the users. Both the government and the private sector play a vital role in supporting the pillars of the electronic commerce framework. An understanding of the roles of government as facilitator and that of the private sector as business strategists for electronic commerce to flourish and mature will enable us to further refine future strategic models of electronic commerce framework

    An Integrated Model for Personalization, Privacy and Security in eCommerce

    Customers and firms must understand and appreciate one another’s personalization, privacy and security (PPS) vested interests. Customers and enterprises should establish and maintain sufficiently well implemented policies, mechanisms and behaviors to minimize unintended consequences of security breaches that breakdown relationships. An integrated model of personalization, privacy and security from both the customer’s and enterprises point of view is presented. The objective is to assure value exchange appropriate levels of vigilance in both security and privacy but not at the expense of the value derived from personalization. Keywords: Personalization
