The effects of product presentation on consumer experiences, emotion, and website patronage intention towards an apparel website

The objectives of this study were to examine: (1) whether Pine and Gilmore\u27s (1999) four experience realms (4Es) are affected by website features, (2) whether the 4Es affect consumer emotional components of pleasure and arousal, and (3) whether pleasure and arousal lead to enhanced website patronage intention. For the main experiment, two stimulus websites reflecting high experiential value and low experiential value were developed. Data were collected in a laboratory setting from 196 participants. An analysis of the causal model was conducted using the maximum-likelihood estimation procedure of Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) for hypotheses testing. The results of this study indicated that website features affected the 4Es and two of the 4Es (entertainment and esthetic experiences) affected pleasure and arousal, as well as consequent website patronage intention. Entertainment and esthetic experiences appeared to have a direct and mediating effect on website patronage intention. Based on these findings, practical and theoretical implications are offered

Applicability valuation for evaluation of surface deflection in automotive outer panels

Upon unloading in a forming process there is elastic recovery, which is the release of the elastic strains and the redistribution of the residual stresses through the thickness direction, thus producing surface deflection. It causes changes in shape and dimensions that can create major problem in the external appearance of outer panels. Thus surface deflection prediction is an important issue in sheet metal forming industry. Many factors could affect surface deflection in the process, such as material variations in mechanical properties, sheet thickness, tool geometry, processing parameters and lubricant condition. The shape and dimension problem in press forming is defined as a trouble mainly caused by the elastic recovery of materials during the forming. The use of high strength steel sheets in the manufacturing of automobile outer panels has increased in the automotive industry over the years because of its lightweight and fuel-efficient improvement. But one of the major concerns of stamping is surface deflection in the formed outer panels. Hence, to be cost effective, accurate prediction must be made of its formability. The automotive industry places rigi

Students’ Use of Knowledge Resources in Environmental Interaction on an Outdoor Learning Trail

This study examined how students leveraged different types of knowledge resources on an outdoor learning trail. We positioned the learning trail as an integral part of the curriculum with a pre- and post-trail phase to scaffold and to support students’ meaning-making process. The study was conducted with two classes of secondary two students. We coded two groups’ discourse to examine the use of knowledge resource types in the meaning-making process in an outdoor learning setting: contextual resource, new conceptual resource, prior knowledge resource, as well as the relationship among these knowledge resource types. Next, we also examined environmental interaction and integration in the students’ use of these knowledge resource types. Analysis showed that contextual resources are chiefly instrumental in fostering students’ capacity to harness new conceptual resource and to activate prior knowledge resource in interacting with and integrating the outdoor learning environment in the meaning-making process. This research is supported by the FutureSchools@Singapore project under the Singapore National Research Foundation’s (NRF) Interactive and Digital Media (IDM) in Education Research and Development (R&D) Programme

The Impact of sectoral AIDs on poverty reduction in Latin America

Thesis(Master) --KDI School:Master of Development Policy,2017This study aims to analyze the impacts of sectoral aids on poverty in order to provide an empirical demonstration on whether it is reasonable to continue allocating over half of aid budget on social sector in most developing countries1 and identify if there is a more effective way of aid allocation for achieving the goal of ‘ending poverty’ in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that has been initiated since 2016. This paper deals with 16 developing countries in Latin America from 2005 to 2015, and conducts panel data analyses with OLS, fixed effects, and random effects regression models. First, the each year analysis shows that economic infrastructure aid and production aid have statistically significant impacts on poverty reduction. However, the result is not robust in the 3-year time lag analysis which finds that economic infrastructure aid is the only effective aid for poverty reduction. Therefore, this paper recommends to allocate aid funds for both production sector and economic infrastructure according to the size of the coefficient of each variable with the period of time taken into account.I. Accelerated Life Testing to Predict Service Life and Reliability for an Appliance Door Hinge

    Get PDF
Appliance manufacturers have traditionally performed physical testing using prototypes to assess reliability and service integrity of new product designs. However, for white goods where service lives are measured in years or decades, the use of endurance testing to analyze long time reliability is uneconomical. As accelerated life testing (ALT) is more efficient and less costly than traditional reliability testing, the methodology is finding increased usage by appliance manufacturers. In the present study, a simulation-based ALT approach was used to predict the service life of a polyacetal hinge cam from a consumer refrigerator. A predictive life stress model based on cumulative surface wear under accelerated stress conditions was developed and used to predict time to failure under consumer use. Results show that the life stress model demonstrated good agreement with performance testing data and reasonably predicts hinge life

The Influence of Consumer Experiences on Store Choice Criteria and Patronage Intention: the Case Study of SPA brands

Based on an array of economic and social data as well as business trends, Pine and Gilmore (1999) agree that current consumers are concerned with engaging experiences rather than just buying goods and services. Pine and Gilmore (1999) conceptualized this new focus of consumer demand as the emerging “Experience Economy” (EE). This perspective views experiences as enhancing consumer value beyond that derived from goods and services. Pine and Gilmore (1999) proposed four experience realms of EE—entertainment, educational, escapist, and esthetic

The purpose was investigate the foot pressure balance and body posture stability in elderly women. Sixteen elderly women participated in this study (mean age:72.63?~79.38?.46yrs, mean BMI: 25.03?.83~27.99?.78). They were divided into two groups (aqua exercise group, n=8, control group, n=8). Participants were tested before and after the study to measure foot pressure balance, body posture stability and advanced balance ability(limits of stability) were measured Biorescure(RM Ingenierie Co, France) which has % quarterly sector(RF, LF, RB, LB). Aqua exercise training program was performed for 50minutes per session, 3times per week for 12weeks. Data was analyzed with ANOVA for repeated measures, t-test using SPSS ver 19.0 program. Aquatic exercise considered a senior citizen fall prevention and improved quality of life
