Time-aging time-stress superposition in soft glass under tensile deformation field

We have studied the tensile deformation behaviour of thin films of aging aqueous suspension of Laponite, a model soft glassy material, when subjected to a creep flow field generated by a constant engineering normal stress. Aqueous suspension of Laponite demonstrates aging behaviour wherein it undergoes time dependent enhancement of its elastic modulus as well as its characteristic relaxation time. However, under application of the normal stress, the rate of aging decreases and in the limit of high stress, the aging stops with the suspension now undergoing a plastic deformation. Overall, it is observed that the aging that occurs over short creep times at small normal stresses is same as the aging that occurs over long creep times at large normal stresses. This observation allows us to suggest an aging time - process time - normal stress superposition principle, which can predict rheological behaviour at longer times by carrying out short time tests.Comment: 26 pages, 7 figures, To appear in Rheologica Act

Marketing has a glamorous role in the business world. It is at the forefront of the firm-market interaction, it represents the best compensated activity in an organization. Marketing assumes a leadership role in the firm and sets the tone of the strategic plans. The approach and strategies seen in marketing throughout the market lifecycle are influenced by factors and players, which significantly curtail its role and circumscribe its influence. This article examines the evolution, along the market lifecycle, of marketing’s role and spheres of influence, and proposes two predictive mechanisms that allow for the estimation of “tipping points” for the different characteristics that define the marketing profile along the lifecycle. We introduce the big bang model of market dynamics and examine the behavior of the marketing function depending where the firm is relative to sink holes, transient and steady states and how the market is pulsing defines the marketing priorities. The article further identifies the factors circumscribing the functions and freedoms of marketing along the lifecycle in hi-tech, to develop a clear picture of the various roles that marketing plays as the firm proceeds along the lifecycle from incubation to market maturity.

In this article, the authors are going to examine shocks in the market and how they change along the market life cycle. Later on they describe the reaction of firms and alliances to specific shocks. Focus is on firms and alliances as the market evolves. Early firms withstand shocks better. The question is: why? And how do structural forms evolve to change characteristics of survival. Then the special case of social media delivered shocks has been developed. Additionally, how social media shocks are different from other shocks are discussed. Whether firms are prepared or not? After completion and comparison of few cases, the conclusion is that social media has a crucial role in some cases and globalization magnifies the effects of social media. To some extent all shock loads are about the speed at which they happen and our inability to forecast or to react to them.W artykule autorzy poddadzą badaniom wstrząsy na rynku oraz to, w jaki sposób wpływają one na zmiany w cyklu życia rynku. Opisano reakcję firm i sojuszy na określone wstrząsy. Nacisk położono na firmy i sojusze, gdy rynek ewoluuje. Młode firmy lepiej znoszą wstrząsy. Pytanie brzmi: dlaczego?

Sr0.5Zr2(AsO4)3 arsenate was prepared and structurally characterized by powder X-ray diffraction and by Raman and infrared spectroscopies. Its structure, which belongs to the Nasicon-type family, was refined by the Rietveld method in the R-3 space group, from X-ray powder diffraction data. The hexagonal unit-cell parameters were determined to be ah=8.965(2)  Å, ch=23.955(6)  Å, V=1667.43(6)  Å3, and Z=6. The structure is formed by an ionic three-dimensional network of AsO4 tetrahedra and ZrO6 octahedra linked by corners with Sr2+ ions occupying half of the M1 sites in an ordered manner. Raman and infrared spectra were recorded and assignments of the stretching and bending vibrations of the AsO 3/4- tetrahedra were made. The number of the peaks observed is in good agreement with that predicted by the factor-group analysis of the R-3 space group

That supply chain management and logistics are a determining factor for the long term success of a company was well documented by Forrester over a half century ago [1], with the importance of the statement only growing through the intervening years. Whether consciously factored into the operating mode or not, logistics and distribution channel management plays a critical role in the life, and death, of a firm. From the rudimentary beginnings of the start-up company to the hectic world of the growth company and onto the relatively secure existence in mature markets, the value chain consisting of logistics and distribution channel linkages follows the firm, until it solidifies into immutable form of the mature value chain and begins to exert an inexorable pressure on the survival of the entire chain, and conversely the chain imposes its will on the members. The emergence of mature industry value chains is often driven by the need to monopolistically control logistics and distribution channels which provides a competitive advantage but also introduces a serious exposure to pending shock loadings of the chain

The phosphate Na2FeSn(PO4)3, obtained by solid state reaction, was found to be isotypic with Na2CrTi(PO4)3, with space group R-3c and unit cell parameters a = 8.6617(2)Å, c=22.0161(7)A, V = 1430.47(5)Å3, Z=6. The structural parameters refined using Rietveld method showed that the Na+ ions occupy totally the M1 sites and partially the M2 sites and sharing faces with the [Sn/FeO6] octahedra. The presence of the unique valence of ferric iron in the reported phosphate was confirmed using UV-visible diffuse-reflectance spectroscopy, magnetic measurements and Mössbauer spectroscopy
