Polish Abstract: Pierwsza część raportu stanowi prezentację koncepcyjnych i metodologicznych założeń badania, problemów badawczych oraz pól problemowych zidentyfikowanych w trakcie fazy operacyjno-terenowej procesu badawczego. Bazując na Szczegółowych założeniach technicznych realizacji badania - metodologii pomiaru oraz procedurach realizacji badania uzupełnionych o informacje fieldwork, przeprowadzono ewaluację algorytmu procesu badawczego oraz zastosowanego instrumentarium pomiarowego. Formularze narzędzi oraz wybrane elementy raportu tabelarycznego stanowią załączniki dokumentacyjne do raportu. Rozdział drugi jest prolegomeną kontekstową ukazującą intencje i dyrektywy zawarte w Programie Operacyjnym Rozwój Polski Wschodniej. Wraz z ogólną charakterystyką strategii Programu, przestawiono Program Promocji Gospodarczej Polski Wschodniej realizowany w ramach działania 1.4 Programu Operacyjnego Rozwój Polski Wschodniej (Komponent Promocja i Priorytetu Programu Operacyjnego Rozwój Polski Wschodniej). Podpunkty analizy deskryptywnej obejmują założenia Ewaluacji Programu Promocji Gospodarczej Polski Wschodniej oraz strategię komunikacji marketingowej Programu Promocji Gospodarczej Polski Wschodniej na lata 2009-2015. Rozdział trzeci zawiera charakterystyki ekonomiczno-społeczne makroregionu Polska Wschodnia. Analiza koncentruje się na czynnikach atrakcyjności inwestycyjnej poszczególnych województw makroregionu oraz na pierwotnej identyfikacji barier inwestycyjnych. W rozdziale czwartym, centralnym dla raportu, przedstawiono wyniki badań empirycznych field research. W oparciu o zgromadzone dane IDI i analizę statystyczną zbiorów CATI naszkicowano bazowy wizerunek makroregionu oraz zasugerowano wybór efektywnych kanałów i narzędzi komunikacji marketingowej. Podsumowanie zawiera rekomendacje dla działań wspierających rekonstrukcję strategii wizerunkowej Polski Wschodniej. W Aneksie zawarto tabele prezentujące rozkłady częstości empirycznej wskazań. Cel niniejszego opracowania jest zatem dwu-kierunkowy - sprawozdawczy wobec zrealizowanego badania oraz analityczny wobec uzyskanych danych empirycznych. W pierwszym sensie, stanowi ono podsumowanie struktury metadanych badań typu CATI, IDI oraz desk research (DR). W aspekcie drugim, bazując na wynikach pomiarów, prezentuje opis oraz interpretację wskaźników w celu aplikacji rezultatów analiz do działań systemowych Zleceniodawcy. English Abstract: The first part of the report presents the conceptual and methodological assumptions of the research, research problems and problem fields identified during the operational and field phase of the research process. Based on the detailed technical assumptions of the research - measurement methodology and procedures for the implementation of the study, supplemented with fieldwork information, evaluation of the test process algorithm and the applied measurement instrument were carried out. The tool forms and selected elements of the tabular report are documentary attachments to the report. The second chapter is a context prolegomena showing the intentions and directives included in the Operational Program Development of Eastern Poland. Along with the general characteristics of the Program's strategy, the Economic Promotion of Eastern Poland Program was presented as part of measure 1.4 of the Operational Program Development of Eastern Poland (Component of Promotion and Priority of the Operational Program Development of Eastern Poland). The sub-points of the descriptive analysis include the assumptions of the Evaluation of the Eastern Poland Economic Promotion Program and the marketing communication strategy of the Eastern Poland Economic Promotion Program for the years 2009-2015. The third chapter contains economic and social characteristics of the Eastern Poland macroregion. The analysis focuses on the investment attractiveness of individual Voivodeships of the macroregion and on the initial identification of investment barriers. The fourth chapter, central to the report, presents the results of field research. Based on the collected IDI data and statistical analysis of CATI collections, the basic image of the macro-region was sketched and the selection of effective channels and tools of marketing communication was suggested. The summary contains recommendations for actions supporting the reconstruction of the image strategy of Eastern Poland. The annex contains tables presenting the frequency distributions of empirical indications. The purpose of this study is therefore two-directional - reporting on the conducted study and analytical to the obtained empirical data. In the first sense, it is a summary of the metadata structure of CATI, IDI and desk research (DR). In the second aspect, based on the measurement results, it presents a description and interpretation of indicators in order to apply the results of analyzes to the customer's system operations

Raport końcowy z badania ewaluacyjnego pn. Ocena wpływu realizacji polityki spójności perspektywy 2004-2006 na zwiększenie możliwości rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego regionów Polski wschodniej

Polish Abstract: Niniejszy raport stanowi podsumowanie badania ewaluacyjnego pt. „Ocena wpływu realizacji polityki spójności perspektywy 2004-2006 na zwiększenie możliwości rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego regionów Polski wschodniej", realizowanego na zlecenie Departamentu Koordynacji Polityki Strukturalnej Ministerstwa Rozwoju Regionalnego. Badanie przeprowadzono w okresie od 21 sierpnia 2009 r. do 15 kwietnia 2010 r. na terenie pięciu województw Polski wschodniej: lubelskiego, podlaskiego, podkarpackiego, warmińsko-mazurskiego oraz świętokrzyskiego. Celem głównym badania była ocena realizacji polityki spójności w perspektywie 2004-2006 w regionach Polski wschodniej pod kątem zwiększenia ich możliwości i dynamiki rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego. Analiza objęła zarówno ocenę wpływu projektów realizowanych w czasie poprzedniego okresu programowania (2004-2006) w ramach Sektorowych Programów Operacyjnych (ocena m.in. pod względem tnvalości efektów projektów, komplementamości prowadzonych działań), jak i ocenę efektów wdrażania (skala realizowanych przedsięwzięć, wartość finansowa) oraz ocenę systemu koordynacji działań (ocena sprawności systemu wspomagającego i wdrażającego interwencje w ramach NPR na terenie wojewckiztw Polski wschodniej). W tym celu badaniem objęto krajowe, regionalne i lokalne dokumenty programowe i strategiczne, jak również wnioski o dofinansowanie i sprawozdania z realizacji projektów przeprowadzonych na obszarze Polski wschodniej zakończonych do dnia 31.12.2008 r. English Abstract: This report is a summary of the evaluation study entitled "Assessment of the impact of cohesion policy implementation in the 2004-2006 perspective on increasing the opportunities for socio-economic development of Eastern Poland regions", implemented at the request of the Department of Structural Policy Coordination of the Ministry of Regional Development .The study was conducted from August 21, 2009 to April 15, 2010 at in five provinces of eastern Poland: Lublin, Podlasie, Podkarpacie, Warmian-Masurian and Świętokrzyskie. The main objective of the study was to assess the implementation of cohesion policy in the 2004-2006 perspective in the regions of Eastern Poland in terms of increasing their opportunities and dynamics of socio-economic development. The analysis covered both the assessment of the impact of projects implemented during the previous programming period (2004-2006) under Sectoral Operational Programs (evaluation in terms of durability of project effects, complementarity of activities), as well as assessment of implementation effects (scale of implemented projects, value financial) and evaluation of the system of coordination of activities (assessment of the efficiency of the system supporting and implementing interventions under the NDP in the Voivodeships of eastern Poland). To this end, the study covered national, regional and local program and strategic documents, as well as applications for co-financing and reports on the implementation of projects carried out in Eastern Poland completed until December 31, 2008

The interplay of seizures-induced axonal sprouting and transcription-dependent Bdnf repositioning in the model of temporal lobe epilepsy.

The Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor is one of the most important trophic proteins in the brain. The role of this growth factor in neuronal plasticity, in health and disease, has been extensively studied. However, mechanisms of epigenetic regulation of Bdnf gene expression in epilepsy are still elusive. In our previous work, using a rat model of neuronal activation upon kainate-induced seizures, we observed a repositioning of Bdnf alleles from the nuclear periphery towards the nuclear center. This change of Bdnf intranuclear position was associated with transcriptional gene activity. In the present study, using the same neuronal activation model, we analyzed the relation between the percentage of the Bdnf allele at the nuclear periphery and clinical and morphological traits of epilepsy. We observed that the decrease of the percentage of the Bdnf allele at the nuclear periphery correlates with stronger mossy fiber sprouting-an aberrant form of excitatory circuits formation. Moreover, using in vitro hippocampal cultures we showed that Bdnf repositioning is a consequence of transcriptional activity. Inhibition of RNA polymerase II activity in primary cultured neurons with Actinomycin D completely blocked Bdnf gene transcription and repositioning occurring after neuronal excitation. Interestingly, we observed that histone deacetylases inhibition with Trichostatin A induced a slight increase of Bdnf gene transcription and its repositioning even in the absence of neuronal excitation. Presented results provide novel insight into the role of BDNF in epileptogenesis. Moreover, they strengthen the statement that this particular gene is a good candidate to search for a new generation of antiepileptic therapies
