Green Supplier Selection in an Uncertain Environment in Agriculture Using a Hybrid MCDM Model: Z-Numbersā€“Fuzzy LMAWā€“Fuzzy CRADIS Model

    Get PDF
The goal of this research was to find a selection of green suppliers (GSS) that will, in the best way, help agricultural producers to apply green agricultural production using uncertainty in decision making. In order to avoid the possibility of uncertainty in the expert decision making, Z-numbers were used together with the fuzzy LMAW (Logarithm Methodology of Additive Weights) method and fuzzy CRADIS (Compromise Ranking of Alternatives from Distance to Ideal Solution) method. By applying Z-numbers and the fuzzy LMAW method, the weighting coefficients of the criteria were determined, where the experts, in addition to the criteria ratings, also defined the degrees of certainty in the criteria ratings they gave. The obtained results indicated that the criteria related to price and qualities are the most important during the selection process. To select the best alternative, the CRADIS method modified with Z-numbers and fuzzy numbers was applied. The results obtained by applying this method showed that suppliers A2 and A3 have the best characteristics and are the first choice for the procurement of raw and production materials. As part of the paper, the validation of the results and the sensitivity analysis of the model were carried out by conducting the procedure of comparing the obtained results with the results obtained by other MCDM methods and changing the weighting coefficients of the criteria. These analyses indicated that the model presented provides stable results. The conducted research showed how Z-numbers can be used to reduce uncertainty in decision making and how Z-numbers can be used with other fuzzy methods to perform GSS

Importance of military vacation facilities for the quality of life of the defense system members

    Get PDF
Personal standard of the defense system members is a socio-economic category, which influences motivation to execute the most complex tasks. In addition to the primary existential motivators such as salary and status, the secondary, not less important motivators that significantly affect the quality of life can be identified, as well. They are expressed in the form of privileged leisure and recreation, subsidized and organized procurement of official uniforms and other garments, general procurement opportunities for consumer goods at lower prices and ensuring decent bachelor accommodation in garrison service in the course of an official trip . Analyses of the operation of military hotel facilities in the last decade indicate the downward trend in the number of users from the defense system, which has a negative impact on the quality of life and it is directly correlated to the quality of task execution. The focus of discussion in this paper is aimed at identifying the key parameters in the use of military hotel capacities of the Military Institution 'Tara' (MI 'Tara') and the possibilities of their improvement in order to be better used by members of the defense system

Attachment to improvement of communication and business in logistical operations of system

The paper elaborates the purpose of the implementation of modern communication techniques available to managers, which represent a new social resource and a chance for good understanding of their competencies. In practice, one can often meet approaches to defining and creating competences framework that includes both behaviorism and technical aspects of business. Adapting to changes is the art of winning in the time of uncertainty. Information technology is the main link of all logistical chain processes and it enables continuous communication in real time. Therefore, it has become the essential tool that ensures an efficient flow of products, services and information through logistics system

Military uniform: Development, importance and meaning

    No full text
This paper has been written with the intention to emphasize that the military uniform - its emergence, development, changes, quality and symbols highlighted on it clearly point to social and cultural patterns and effects that the military organization underwent in its historical course. Furthermore, the paper shows that the military uniform should meet two key requirements: the suitability for execution of assigned tasks within defined missions, on the one hand, and raising the 'combat spirit' of the armed forces members, on the other hand. If the military uniform is understood as a language that speaks to us and which communicates something, then the meaning of symbols and labels on it, as well as the uniform as a symbol itself, can be analyzed. Therefore, the meaning of a uniform as a symbolic language is in the expression of the characteristics of the military as the social institution and the characteristics of the military profession

Location Selection for Wind Farms Using GIS Multi-Criteria Hybrid Model: An Approach Based on Fuzzy and Rough Numbers

    No full text
This paper presents spatial mathematical model in order to identify sites for the wind farms installment which can have significant support for the planners in the area of strategy and management of wind power use. The suggested model is based on combined use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) with multi-criteria techniques of Best-Worst method (BWM) and MultiAttributive Ideal-Real Comparative Analysis (MAIRCA). Rough numbers and fuzzy logic are used to exploit uncertainty during data analysis in spatial mathematical model. The model is applied on the case study. Rough BWM model is used to determine weight coefficients of the criteria and rough MAIRCA method is used to rank separated sustainable locations. The implementation of MAIRCA method has shown that the location L3 is the most suitable for the wind farm in the area covered in the case study. Therefore, the suggested spatial mathematical model can be successfully used to identify the potential suitable sites for the wind farms in other areas with similar geographic conditions

Health-related quality of life in patients undergoing hemodialysis

Background/Aim. Chronic renal disease is one of the growing problems all over the world. Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is an important indicator for those with a chronic disease, such as chronic renal disease, because it may serve as predictor of mortality and hospitalization. The aim of this study was to assess HRQoL in patients on chronic maintenance hemodialysis (HD), and compare it with patients suffering from hypertension (HTA), and normal controls of the same age and gender (C). Methods. The study enrolled 224 males and females older than 18 years: 67 in the HD group, 78 in the HTA group, and 79 in the C group. HRQoL was assessed in all groups using 15-D questionnaire. Results. Significantly higher level of education was recorded in the HD group compared to other two groups. In the HD group there were significantly less employed persons (9%) and significantly more retired (67.2%). All groups were similar regarding an average monthly income and marital status. We found significantly lower total HRQoL score in patients in the HD group, compared to normal controls (0.78 Ā± 0.16 vs. 0.89 Ā± 0.10 in the HTA and 0.95 Ā± 0.06 in the C group) as well as specific scores in almost all investigated domains, except in speech, eating and mental functions. Patients in the HD and HTA groups had similar self-reported quality of life in additional 3 domains: hearing, elimination and distress, while the HD group reported significantly lower scores in remaining 9 domains: mobility, vision, breathing, sleeping, usual activities, discomfort and symptoms, depression, vitality and sexual activity. Patients in the HTA group had significantly lower scores than normal controls in 8 domains (hearing, sleeping, elimination, usual activities, discomfort and symptoms, depression, distress and vitality) as well as in total quality of life, while in remaining 4 domains there was no significant difference (mobility, vision, breathing, sexual activity). Conclusion. Both investigated chronic diseases lead to impairment of HRQoL, which is substantially stronger in hemodialysis than in hypertension. Considering the relationship between depression and HRQoL measures, it may be useful to treat depression of HD patients in order to improve their quality of life
