    PCIExpress Communication Layer for ATCA-based Linear Accelerator Control System

    Get PDF
    PCIExpress architecture is widely used communication bus designed, among other things, for industrial application. Additionally, according to PICMG 3.4 specification it is part of an ATCA architecture. For that reason PCIExpress was used as communication interface for data transmission between ATCA carrier boards and AMC modules for the new control system for XFEL linear accelerator. In this paper authors present general overview of this system, describe communication protocols designed to exchange data with external user application and show results of performance test

    On Unbounded Composition Operators in L2L^2-Spaces

    Full text link
    Fundamental properties of unbounded composition operators in L2L^2-spaces are studied. Characterizations of normal and quasinormal composition operators are provided. Formally normal composition operators are shown to be normal. Composition operators generating Stieltjes moment sequences are completely characterized. The unbounded counterparts of the celebrated Lambert's characterizations of subnormality of bounded composition operators are shown to be false. Various illustrative examples are supplied

    Theoretical study of the absorption spectra of the lithium dimer

    Get PDF
    For the lithium dimer we calculate cross sections for absorption of radiation from the vibrational-rotational levels of the ground X [singlet Sigma g +] electronic state to the vibrational levels and continua of the excited A [singlet Sigma u +] and B [singlet Pi u] electronic states. Theoretical and experimental data are used to characterize the molecular properties taking advantage of knowledge recently obtained from photoassociation spectroscopy and ultra-cold atom collision studies. The quantum-mechanical calculations are carried out for temperatures in the range from 1000 to 2000 K and are compared with previous calculations and measurements.Comment: 20 pages, revtex, epsf, 6 fig

    Status of the diagnostics development for the first operation phase of the stellarator Wendelstein 7-Xa)^{a)}

    No full text
    An overview of the diagnostics which are essential for the first operational phase of Wendelstein 7-X and the set of diagnostics expected to be ready for operation at this time are presented. The ongoing investigations of how to cope with high levels of stray Electron Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ECRH) radiation in the ultraviolet (UV)/visible/infrared (IR) optical diagnostics are described
