A binned Dalitz plot analysis of B Ā±ā†’DK Ā± decays, with Dā†’KS0Ļ€+Ļ€- and Dā†’KS0K+K-, is performed to measure the CP-violating observables x Ā± and y Ā± which are sensitive to the CKM angle Ī³. The analysis exploits 1.0 fb -1 of data collected by the LHCb experiment. The study makes no model-based assumption on the variation of the strong phase of the D decay amplitude over the Dalitz plot, but uses measurements of this quantity from CLEO-c as input. The values of the parameters are found to be x -=(0.0Ā±4.3Ā±1.5Ā±0.6)Ɨ10 -2, y -=(2.7Ā±5.2Ā±0.8Ā±2.3)Ɨ10 -2, x +=(-10.3Ā±4.5Ā±1.8Ā±1.4)Ɨ10 -2 and y +=(-0.9Ā±3.7Ā±0.8Ā±3.0)Ɨ10 -2. The first, second, and third uncertainties are the statistical, the experimental systematic, and the error associated with the precision of the strong-phase parameters measured at CLEO-c, respectively. These results correspond to Ī³=(44-38+43)Ā°, with a second solution at Ī³ā†’Ī³+180Ā°, and r B=0.07Ā±0.04, where r B is the ratio between the suppressed and favoured B decay amplitudes

The first observation of the decay B0sā†’Ļ•Kāˆ—0 is reported. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fbāˆ’1 of pp collisions at sāˆš=7 TeV, collected with the LHCb detector. A yield of 30 Ā± 6 B0sā†’(K+Kāˆ’)(Kāˆ’Ļ€+) decays is found in the mass windows 1012.5 < M (K + K āˆ’) < 1026.5 MeV/c 2 and 746 < M(K āˆ’ Ļ€ +) < 1046 MeV/c 2. The signal yield is found to be dominated by B0sā†’Ļ•Kāˆ—0 decays, and the corresponding branching fraction is measured to be B(B0sā†’Ļ•Kāˆ—0) = (1.10 Ā± 0.24 (stat) Ā± 0.14 (syst) Ā± 0.08 (f d /f s )) Ɨ 10āˆ’6, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic and from the ratio of fragmentation fractions f d /f s which accounts for the different production rate of B 0 and B0s mesons. The significance of B0sā†’Ļ•Kāˆ—0 signal is 6.1 standard deviations. The fraction of longitudinal polarization in B0sā†’Ļ•Kāˆ—0 decays is found to be f 0 = 0.51 Ā± 0.15 (stat) Ā± 0.07 (syst)

An analysis of and BĀ± ā†’ DKĀ± and BĀ± ā†’ DĻ€Ā± decays is presented where the D meson is reconstructed in the four-body final state KĀ± Ļ€-/+Ļ€+Ļ€-. Using LHCb data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb-1, first observations are made of the suppressed ADS modes BĀ± ā†’[Ļ€Ā± K-/+Ļ€+Ļ€-]DKĀ± and BĀ± ā†’ [Ļ€Ā± K-/+Ļ€+Ļ€-]DĻ€Ā± with a significance of 5.1 sigma and greater than 10 sigma, respectively. Measurements of CP asymmetries and CP-conserving ratios of partial widths from this family of decays are also performed. The magnitude of the ratio between the suppressed and favoured BĀ± ā†’ DK Ā± amplitudes is determined to be rKB = 0.097 Ā± 0.011

    Time-integrated CP asymmetries in D 0 decays to the final states K - K + and Ļ€ - Ļ€ + are measured using proton-proton collisions corresponding to 3fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 TeV and 8 TeV. The D 0 mesons are produced in semileptonic b-hadron decays, where the charge of the accompanying muon is used to determine the initial flavour of the charm meson. The difference in CP asymmetries between the two final states is measured to be Ī” ACP = ACP (K- K +) ACP (Ļ€- Ļ€+) = (+ 0.14 Ā± 0.16 (stat) Ā± 0.08 (syst)) %. A measurement of A CP (K - K +) is obtained assuming negligible CP violation in charm mixing and in Cabibbo-favoured D decays. It is found to be ACP (K- K+) = (- 0.06 Ā± 0.15 (stat) Ā± 0.10 (syst)) %, where the correlation coefficient between Ī”A CP and A CP (K - K +) is Ļ = 0.28. By combining these results, the CP asymmetry in the D 0 ā†’ Ļ€ - Ļ€ + channel is A CP (Ļ€ - Ļ€ +) = (-0.20 Ā± 0.19 (stat) Ā± 0.10 (syst))%

Based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.37 fbāˆ’1 collected by the LHCb experiment in 2011, the following ratios of branching fractions are measured: B(B0ā†’Ļ€+Ļ€āˆ’)/B(B0ā†’K+Ļ€āˆ’)=0.262Ā±0.009Ā±0.017,(fs/fd)ā‹…B(B0sā†’K+Kāˆ’)/B(B0ā†’K+Ļ€āˆ’)=0.316Ā±0.009Ā±0.019,(fs/fd)ā‹…B(B0sā†’Ļ€+Kāˆ’)/B(B0ā†’K+Ļ€āˆ’)=0.074Ā±0.006Ā±0.006,(fd/fs)ā‹…B(B0ā†’K+Kāˆ’)/B(B0sā†’K+Kāˆ’)=0.018+0.008āˆ’0.007Ā±0.009,(fs/fd)ā‹…B(B0sā†’Ļ€+Ļ€āˆ’)/B(B0ā†’Ļ€+Ļ€āˆ’)=0.050+0.011āˆ’0.009Ā±0.004,B(Ī›0bā†’pĻ€āˆ’)/B(Ī›0bā†’pKāˆ’)=0.86Ā±0.08Ā±0.05, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Using the current world average of B(B0ā†’K+Ļ€āˆ’) and the ratio of the strange to light neutral B meson production f s /f d measured by LHCb, we obtain: B(B0ā†’Ļ€+Ļ€āˆ’)=(5.08Ā±0.17Ā±0.37)Ɨ10āˆ’6,B(B0sā†’K+Kāˆ’)=(23.0Ā±0.7Ā±2.3)Ɨ10āˆ’6,B(B0sā†’Ļ€+Kāˆ’)=(5.4Ā±0.4Ā±0.6)Ɨ10āˆ’6,B(B0ā†’K+Kāˆ’)=(0.11+0.05āˆ’0.04Ā±0.06)Ɨ10āˆ’6,B(B0sā†’Ļ€+Ļ€āˆ’)=(0.95+0.21āˆ’0.17Ā±0.13)Ɨ10āˆ’6. The measurements of B(B0sā†’K+Kāˆ’) , B(B0sā†’Ļ€+Kāˆ’) and B(B0ā†’K+Kāˆ’) are the most precise to date. The decay mode B0sā†’Ļ€+Ļ€āˆ’ is observed for the first time with a significance of more than 5Ļƒ
