Explaining enhanced logical consistency during decision making in autism
The emotional responses elicited by the way options are framed often results in lack of logical consistency in human decision making. In this study, we investigated subjects with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using a financial task in which the monetary prospects were presented as either loss or gain. We report both behavioral evidence that ASD subjects show a reduced susceptibility to the framing effect and psycho-physiological evidence that they fail to incorporate emotional context into the decision-making process. On this basis, we suggest that this insensitivity to contextual frame, although enhancing choice consistency in ASD, may also underpin core deficits in this disorder. These data highlight both benefits and costs arising from multiple decision processes in human cognition
High-field irreversible moment reorientation in the antiferromagnet FeTe
Magnetization measurements have been performed on single-crystalline
FeTe in pulsed magnetic fields up to 53 T
and temperatures from 4.2 to 65 K. At K, a non-reversible reorientation
of the antiferromagnetic moments is observed at T as the pulsed
field is on the rise. No anomaly is observed at during the fall of the
field and, as long as the temperature is unchanged, during both rises and falls
of additional field pulses. The transition at is reactivated if the
sample is warmed up above the N\'{e}el temperature K and cooled
down again. The magnetic field-temperature phase diagram of FeTe in
is also investigated. We present the temperature
dependence of , as well as that of the antiferromagnetic-to-paramagnetic

Low energy spin fluctuations in the heavy fermion compound CeLaRuSi
We report inelastic neutron scattering measurements performed on a single
crystal of the heavy fermion compound CeLaRuSi,
which is at the borderline between an antiferromagnetically ordered and a
paramagnetic ground state. Intensity maps as a function of wavevector and
energy ( meV) were obtained at temperatures and 2 K, using
the time-of-flight spectrometer IRIS. An unexpected saturation of the
relaxation rate and static susceptibility of the spin fluctuations is found at

Further analysis of the quantum critical point of CeLaRuSi
New data on the spin dynamics and the magnetic order of
CeLaRuSi are presented. The importance of the Kondo
effect at the quantum critical point of this system is emphasized from the
behaviour of the relaxation rate at high temperature and from the variation of
the ordered moment with respect to the one of the N\'eel temperature for

Importance of In-Plane Anisotropy in the Quasi Two-Dimensional Antiferromagnet BaNiVO
The phase diagram of the quasi two-dimensional antiferromagnet
BaNiVO is studied by specific heat, thermal expansion,
magnetostriction, and magnetization for magnetic fields applied perpendicular
to . At T, a crossover to a high-field state,
where increases linearly, arises from a competition of intrinsic and
field-induced in-plane anisotropies. The pressure dependences of and
are interpreted using the picture of a pressure-induced in-plane
anisotropy. Even at zero field and ambient pressure, in-plane anisotropy cannot
be neglected, which implies deviations from pure
Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless behavior.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
