Bosonic String and String Field Theory: a solution using Ultradistributions of Exponential Type
In this paper we show that Ultradistributions of Exponential Type (UET) are
appropriate for the description in a consistent way string and string field
theories. A new Lagrangian for the closed string is obtained and shown to be
equivalent to Nambu-Goto's Lagrangian. We also show that the string field is a
linear superposition of UET of compact support CUET). We evaluate the
propagator for the string field, and calculate the convolution of two of them.Comment: 30 page
The Rarita-Schwinger Particles Under de Influence of Strong Magnetic Fields
In this work, we calculate the solutions of the Rarita-Schwinger equation
with the inclusion of the eletromagnetic interaction. Our gauge and coupling
prescription choices lead to Dirac-type solutions. One of the consequences of
our results are the Landau level occupation of particles, quite different from
the usual spin 1/2 particle system occupation numbers.Comment: 12 page

Genomic and small RNA sequencing of Miscanthus × giganteus shows the utility of sorghum as a reference genome sequence for Andropogoneae grasses
Genomic data together with sequencing of tissue specific small RNA libraries reveals insights into the genome content, small RNA repertoire and evolutionary origins of the grass Miscanthus × giganteus
Peroxide Antimalarial Drugs Target Redox Homeostasis in Plasmodium Falciparum Infected Red Blood Cells
Plasmodium falciparum causes the most lethal form of malaria. Peroxide antimalarials based on artemisinin underpin the frontline treatments for malaria, but artemisinin resistance is rapidly spreading. Synthetic peroxide antimalarials, known as ozonides, are in clinical development and offer a potential alternative. Here, we used chemoproteomics to investigate the protein alkylation targets of artemisinin and ozonide probes, including an analogue of the ozonide clinical candidate, artefenomel. We greatly expanded the list of proteins alkylated by peroxide antimalarials and identified significant enrichment of redox-related proteins for both artemisinins and ozonides. Disrupted redox homeostasis was confirmed by dynamic live imaging of the glutathione redox potential using a genetically encoded redox-sensitive fluorescence-based biosensor. Targeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based thiol metabolomics also confirmed changes in cellular thiol levels. This work shows that peroxide antimalarials disproportionately alkylate proteins involved in redox homeostasis and that disrupted redox processes are involved in the mechanism of action of these important antimalarials
Comparação entre rações para frangos de corte mais vendidas no Rio Grande do Sul. III. Rendimento Econômico
Six different commercial broiler rations were compared as to performance and economic aspects. The six rations selected were those sold in the greatest volume. Significant differences in gain of weight and feed conversion were found. However, these data alone were insufficient to classify the rations according to their economic value. It was necessary to consider the total production cost to determine the most profitable ration.São estudados e discutidos a performance e o aspecto econômico da criação de frangos de corte com seis rações diferentes.
A comparison of rations used for broiler production in Rio Grande do Sul
This paper presents a study of the relative efficiency of the six most popular commercial broiler rations used in Rio Grande do Sul. Differences for gain of weight, feed conversion, pigmentation, fat distribution and length and width of breast were significant, clearly showing the importance of good feeding in raising chickens
