<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background/Aims</p> <p>Matrix Metalloproteinases 2 is a key molecule in cellular invasion and metastasis. Mitochondrial ROS has been established as a mediator of MMP activity. Coenzyme Q10 contributes to intracellular ROS regulation. Coenzyme Q10 beneficial effects on cancer are still in controversy but there are indications of Coenzyme Q10 complementing effect on tamoxifen receiving breast cancer patients.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>In this study we aimed to investigate the correlation of the effects of co-incubation of coenzyme Q10 and N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) on intracellular H2O2 content and Matrix Metalloproteinase 2 (MMP-2) activity in MCF-7 cell line.</p> <p>Results and Discussion</p> <p>Our experiment was designed to assess the effect in a time and dose related manner. Gelatin zymography and Flowcytometric measurement of H2O2 by 2'7',-dichlorofluorescin-diacetate probe were employed. The results showed that both coenzyme Q10 and N-acetyl-L-cysteine reduce MMP-2 activity along with the pro-oxidant capacity of the MCF-7 cell in a dose proportionate manner.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>Collectively, the present study highlights the significance of Coenzyme Q10 effect on the cell invasion/metastasis effecter molecules.</p

Lead time is one of the major limits that affect planning at every stage of the supply chain system. In this paper, we study a continuous review inventory model. This paper investigates the ordering cost reductions are dependent on lead time. This study addressed two-echelon supply chain problem consisting of a single vendor and a single buyer. The main contribution of this study is that the integrated total cost of the single vendor and the single buyer integrated system is analyzed by adopting two different (linear and logarithmic) types ordering cost reductions act dependent on lead time. In both cases, we develop effective solution procedures for finding the optimal solution and then illustrative numerical examples are given to illustrate the results. The solution procedure is to determine the optimal solutions of order quantity, ordering cost, lead time and the number of deliveries from the single vendor and the single buyer in one production run, so that the integrated total cost incurred has the minimum value. Ordering cost reduction is the main aspect of the proposed model. A numerical example is given to validate the model. Numerical example solved by using Matlab software. The mathematical model is solved analytically by minimizing the integrated total cost. Furthermore, the sensitivity analysis is included and the numerical examples are given to illustrate the results. The results obtained in this paper are illustrated with the help of numerical examples. The sensitivity of the proposed model has been checked with respect to the various major parameters of the system. Results reveal that the proposed integrated inventory model is more applicable for the supply chain manufacturing system. For each case, an algorithm procedure of finding the optimal solution is developed. Finally, the graphical representation is presented to illustrate the proposed model and also include the computer flowchart in each model

Introduction: Most elderly people are at risk of chronic diseases and their complications and problems and inadequate social support, especially among low-income groups, can affect their lives. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between mental health and perceived social support in the elderly referred to selected hospitals of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran. Method: This study is a descriptive-correlational research that was performed in selected hospitals affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran. The samples were the elderly referred to the mentioned hospitals who were included in the study by available sampling method and based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria from the study population. Data were collected through the "General Health Questionnaire"(GHQ-28) &nbsp;and the "Zimet Perceived Social Support Multidimensional Scale" and data analyzed using SPSS statistical package version 20. Results: The results showed that the mean of general health was 37.64( social dysfunction with an average of 10.30±4.24 and physical problems with an average of 10.23±4.54 were the most common psychological problems in the elderly)and perceived social support was 54.56, which indicates that the elderly have moderate mental health and perception of social support. Findings also indicated that there is an inverse and significant relationship between mental health and perceived social support of the elderly (r = 0.624). In other words, the lower a person's perception of social support is associated with the greater risk to their mental health. Conclusions: The results showed that social dysfunction and physical problems(two subscales of general health) had been the most common psychological problems in the elderly. In addition, perceived social support from family, friends, and others in the elderly has been moderate. &nbsp; Therefore, the mental health of the elderly should be considered and awareness of families and other people involved with the elderly should be given priority for stronger emotional ties with the elderly and increase of social support.
