Hard Thermal Loops in the n-Dimensional phi3 Theory
We derive a closed-form result for the leading thermal contributions which
appear in the n-dimensional phi3 theory at high temperature. These
contributions become local only in the long wavelength and in the static
limits, being given by different expressions in these two limits.Comment: 3 pages, one figure. To be published in the Brazilian Journal of

Union-Member Relations and Satisfaction with Unions in South Korea
This paper uses a large sample of South Korean union members working in different industries and occupations to test a model of union satisfaction. The results suggest that union-member relations- member representation and union leader effectiveness — are more important than the economic results that unions provide to members. These findings are in line with our general argument that, where unions rely on decentralized collective bargaining as the prime method of employment regulation, they depend heavily on internal union relations for their effectiveness. We contend that, if unions are to limit the decline in their influence, assessing and changing internal union relations should be a priority
Hard thermal loops in long wave-length and static external gravitational fields
We study, in the long wave-length and static limits, the structure of the
n-point graviton functions at high temperature. Using the gauge and Weyl
invariance of the theory, we derive a simple expression for the hard thermal
amplitudes in these two limits.Comment: 3 pages, 1 figur
The Self-Force of a Charged Particle in Classical Electrodynamics with a Cut-off
We discuss, in the context of classical electrodynamics with a Lorentz
invariant cut-off at short distances, the self-force acting on a point charged
particle. It follows that the electromagnetic mass of the point charge occurs
in the equation of motion in a form consistent with special relativity. We find
that the exact equation of motion does not exhibit runaway solutions or
non-causal behavior, when the cut-off is larger than half of the classical
radius of the electron.Comment: 17 pages, 1 figur
