Contribution of Landsat 8 data for the estimation of land surface temperature in Batna city, Eastern Algeria

In this study, we presented a mono-window (MW) algorithm for land surface temperature retrieval from Landsat 8 TIRS. MW needs spectral radiance and emissivity of thermal infrared bands as input for deriving LST. The spectral radiance was estimated using band 10, and the surface emissivity value was derived with the help of NDVI and vegetation proportion parameters for which OLI bands 5 and 4 were used. The results in comparison with MODIS (MOD11A1) products indicated that the proposed algorithm is capable of retrieving accurate LST values, with a correlation coefficient of 0.850. The industrial area, public facilities and military area show higher surface temperature (more than 37 °C) in comparison with adjoining areas, while the green spaces in urban areas (34 °C) and forests (29 °C) were the cooler part of the city. These successful results obtained in the study could be used as an efficient method for the environmental impact assessment

Finite-time dynamics of the fractional-order epidemic model: Stability, synchronization, and simulations

    No full text
The aim of this paper is to explore finite-time synchronization in a specific subset of fractional-order epidemic reaction–diffusion systems. Initially, we introduce a new lemma for finite-time stability, which extends existing criteria and builds upon previous discoveries. Following this, we design effective state-dependent linear controllers. By utilizing a Lyapunov function, we derive new sufficient conditions to ensure finite-time synchronization within a predefined time frame. Lastly, we present numerical simulations to demonstrate the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed technique

Fractional-Order Degn–Harrison Reaction–Diffusion Model: Finite-Time Dynamics of Stability and Synchronization

    No full text
This study aims to address the topic of finite-time synchronization within a specific subset of fractional-order Degn–Harrison reaction–diffusion systems. To achieve this goal, we begin with the introduction of a novel lemma specific for finite-time stability analysis. Diverging from existing criteria, this lemma represents a significant extension of prior findings, laying the groundwork for subsequent investigations. Building upon this foundation, we proceed to develop efficient dependent linear controllers designed to orchestrate finite-time synchronization. Leveraging the power of a Lyapunov function, we derive new, robust conditions that ensure the attainment of synchronization within a predefined time frame. This innovative approach not only enhances our understanding of finite-time synchronization, but also offers practical solutions for its realization in complex systems. To validate the efficacy and applicability of our proposed methodology, extensive numerical simulations are conducted. Through this comprehensive analysis, we aim to contribute valuable insights to the field of fractional-order reaction–diffusion systems while paving the way for practical implementations in real-world applications
