Enhancing healthcare services through cloud service: a systematic review

    Get PDF
Although cloud-based healthcare services are booming, in-depth research has not yet been conducted in this field. This study aims to address the shortcomings of previous research by analyzing all journal articles from the last five years using the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) systematic literature review methodology. The findings of this study highlight the benefits of cloud-based healthcare services for healthcare providers and patients, including enhanced healthcare services, data security, privacy issues, and innovative information technology (IT) service delivery models. However, this study also identifies challenges associated with using cloud services in healthcare, such as security and privacy concerns, and proposes solutions to address these issues. This study concludes by discussing future research directions and the need for a complete solution that addresses the conflicting requirements of the security, privacy, efficiency, and scalability of cloud technologies in healthcare

Government all over the world are increasingly realizing that implementing and sustaining their electronic service delivery is the way forward to achieve efficiency savings and to satisfy and engage demanding constituents. Once an electronic service delivery has been developed and the infrastructure is in place, they are almost infinitely scalable with minimal effort, and will reduce variable costs of electronic service provisioning and service use. As this trend continues, academics, IT professionals and decision makers need a deeper understanding of electronic service initiatives sustainability. Yet, analysis of IS academic literature reveals that electronic service initiatives sustainability, has received little in depth attention. This paper investigates the current state of electronic service initiatives sustainability research in IS literature. The article detailed out a review of literature from main IS journals. The study concludes with a tentative operational definition, a list of source references, and an agenda for related future research

Innovation has long been recognized as an important driver and cultivator for organization growth and production of quality new product and services. There are several innovation measurement models or frameworks that can be used to assess innovation. Innovation value chain is one of the assessment tools that can be used to assess innovation process in a given organization. The innovation value chain assessment finding can be used to help organization identify the weaknesses of the innovation process in the organization. This paper presents the status of innovation value chain in one of Malaysia Public Research Institutes and Government Agencies and proposes guidance on how to improve on the identified weaknesses. A survey questionnaire was sent to 140 staffs in an organization representing one of Malaysia Public Research Institutes and Government Agencies. The finding of the study shows that there existed an innovation culture in the selected organization which promotes innovation within the organization. However, they need to improve on some of areas related the processes along the idea generation, conversion and diffusion phase. The result of this research shows that there existed weaknesses and recommends a guidance that could be beneficial for organization that have same problem scenari

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) play important roleswithin the rapid growth of innovation environment. The roles include as a changeagent, enhancing e-business requirements, promoting globalization and innovation, contributing to productivity growth, strengthening competitiveness, improving business processes along the whole value chain, determining future business strategies and generating profits for business. Previous studies have shown that by adopting ICT, theorganization will attain positive impacts of innovation especially in product innovation, process innovation and competitive advantage. This indicates that ICT has significantly contributed towards promoting innovation in the organization. This paper presents theresults of the study of ICT innovation in Malaysian Public Research Institute and Government Agencies (IPA). The study focuses on existing ICT strategies that promoteinnovation in IPA. Data was collected through questionnaires which were distributed tothe selected Heads of IT in IPA. The findings of the study shows ICT innovation helped IPA in areas of creativity, product development, capacity development and strategic. This research also shows that IPA produced several ICT strategic applications for promoting innovation derived from ICT Strategic Plan (ICTSP). This research will helpother research institutes to learn from each other and practice innovation in their organization

Development of delta wing aerodynamics research in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia low speed wind tunnel

This paper presents wind tunnel experiment on two delta wing configurations which are differentiated by their leading edge profiles: sharp and round-edged wings. The experiments were performed as a part of the delta wing aerodynamics research development in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, low speed tunnel (UTM-LST). Steady load balance and flow visualization tests were conducted at Reynolds numbers of 0.5, 1, and 1.5 × 106, respectively. The flow measurement at low Reynolds number was also performed at as low as speed of 5 m/s. During the experiments, laser with smoke flow visualizations test was performed on both wings. The study has identified interesting features of the interrelationship between the conventional leading edge primary vortex and the occurrence and development of the vortex breakdown above the delta wings. The results conclude the vortex characteristics are largely dependent on the Reynolds number, angle of attack, and leading-edge radii of the win
