Predicting the Extent of Sidoarjo Mud Flow Using Remote Sensing
The Sidoarjo mud flow in East Java is the result of a natural phenomenon in which hot mudflow occurs due to volcanic activity. The Sidoarjo mud flow resulted in a considerable ecological disaster in the area. In this study, by using the Modification of Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI) technique we measured the extension of the mudflow area from 2013 to 2020 using Landsat 8 satellite data imagery. This study is meant to predict the extension of the mud flow area in the research site by comparing regression and neural network techniques in order to find the best approach. The RPROP MLP neural network technique was used to predict the Sidoarjo mud-flowing area in 2021 to 2025. Surprisingly the results of these calculations showed that the RPROP MLP neural network with three hidden layers and 20 neurons performed the best, with an R square value for training of 0.77915565 and for testing of 0.78321550
Implementation of Data Mining for Churn Prediction in Music Streaming Company Using 2020 Dataset
Customer is an important asset in a company as it is the lifeline of a company. For a company to get a new customer, it will cost a lot of money for campaigns. On the other hand, maintaining old customer tend to be cheaper than acquiring a new one. Because of that, it is important to be able to prevent the loss of customers from the products we have. Therefore, customer churn prediction is important in retaining customers. This paper discusses data mining techniques using XGBoost, Deep Neural Network, and Logistic Regression to compare the performance generated using data from a company that develops a song streaming application. The company suffers from the churn rate of the customer. Uninstall rate of the customers reaching 90% compared to the customer’s installs. The data will come from Google Analytics, a service from Google that will track the customer’s activity in the music streaming application. After finding out the method that will give the highest accuracy on the churn prediction, the attribute of data that most influence on the churn prediction will be determined
IMPACT OF FUNDING IN THE ORGANIZATION OF SPORTS FOR THE DISABLED PERSONS IN SPECIAL SCHOOLS IN NIGERIA
The Nigeria National Education Policy (6-3-3-4) is specific on physical education when it stated in paragraph 7 and 8 of section one of the National Policy on Education that physical education will be emphasized at all levels of the educational system. In an attempt to further confirm the attention given to sport in Nigeria, the federal government of Nigeria’s Sports Development Policy documents (FRN, 1989) states that the Federal government accepts special responsibility for ensuring adequate level of funding for such programme as sports for the disabled. Very little efforts have been made in respect of proper funding for sports for the disabled in special schools in Nigeria. This paper discussed the impact of funding in the organization of sports for the disabled persons in special schools in Nigeria. The hypothesis stated in this paper was that funding has no significant impact in the organization of sport for the disabled persons in special schools in Nigeria. The population of this study consists of 5030 disabled students, 38 sports coordinators and 35 coaches of Special Schools in Nigeria. Proportionate sampling technique was used in selecting the number of respondents while simple random sampling technique was used to select the respondents from each of the special schools using the dip and pick method. A sample size of four hundred and eight (408) respondents made up of disabled persons in special schools, sports coordinators and coaches were used. A designed questionnaire for the deaf and dumb, the crippled were administered while the blind were equally administered with questionnaire which was interpreted into braille. The result in table 1 indicated the calculated chi-square value of 441.18 to be higher than the critical chi-square value of 34.17 at df 20 at 0.05 alpha level of significance. This shows that funding has significant impact in the organization of sports for the disabled persons in special schools in Nigeria. Therefore, the null hypothesis which states that funding has no significant impact in the organization of sports for the disabled persons in special schools in Nigeria is hereby rejected. Article visualizations
Pengembangan Data Warehouse untuk Mengetahui Tren Aktivitas Trouble Ticket
This research started from the need for XYZ company to be able to present reports or data quickly when needed. There are so many trouble tickets per month, so PT XYZ needs information from historical data that can be seen from various dimensions, especially regarding trends that occur in trouble tickets. With this research, it is possible to develop a data warehouse originating from the operational database from PT XYZ, perform data warehouse analysis with Tableau software to find out trends in trouble ticket activity transactions. The data warehouse development method is to use the nine step design methodology development method using pentaho software. Based on the obtained trends, an information analysis of the number of Trouble tickets was carried out based on two dimensions, namely location and time, and it was found that in the 2nd and 3rd week of each month they had the most trouble tickets. This is due to the influence of the weather in these locations. Then an evaluation was carried out through a questionnaire using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and the average rating from users was 3.83-4.22 which stated that this research could provide benefits and be accepted by PT XYZ
Digital Technology: the Effect of Connected World to Computer Ethic and Family
The development of digital technology such as smartphones, tablets and other gadgets grows very rapidly in the last decade so does the development of mobile applications for those mobile systems or smartphones. Unfortunately, those applications often do not specify the age range for their users. This is actually a problem in the world of digital technology and software development. It is not yet known whether the applications is good be used for children or not. Nowadays, parents are faced with the dilemma of allowing their children to use these modern gadgets, which often lead to serious addiction or keeping them in the dark and risk raising ignorant kids. This research shows 80% of respondents agree or strongly agree that the gadget will affect to the development of children social skill. Therefore, in this research, the framework for ethical assessment is introduced and it can be applied to digital technology included gadget and its application in order to mitigate the negative effect of digital technology and gadgets
Sleep Apnea Identification using HRV Features of ECG Signals
Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder that interferes with the breathing of a person. During sleep, people can stop breathing for a moment that causes the body lack of oxygen that lasts for several seconds to minutes even until the range of hours. If it happens for a long period, it can result in more serious diseases, e.g. high blood pressure, heart failure, stroke, diabetes, etc. Sleep apnea can be prevented by identifying the indication of sleep apnea itself from ECG, EEG, or other signals to perform early prevention. The purpose of this study is to build a classification model to identify sleep disorders from the Heart Rate Variability (HRV) features that can be obtained with Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. In this study, HRV features were processed using several classification methods, i.e. ANN, KNN, N-Bayes and SVM linear Methods. The classification is performed using subject-specific scheme and subject-independent scheme. The simulation results show that the SVM method achieves higher accuracy other than three other methods in identifying sleep apnea. While, time domain features shows the most dominant performance among the HRV features
Properties of Viscous and Joulean Dissipation on Fully Developed Natural Convection in a Vertical Micro-channel in Existence of Lorentz Forces
Magnetohydrodynamic natural convection flow in a vertical parallel plate micro-channel in presence of viscous and Joulean dissipation is theoretically examined by using a perturbation series method. The effects of velocity slip and temperature jump conditions were taken into consideration. Due to the presence of viscous and Joulean dissipation effects, the momentum and energy equations are coupled system of ordinary differential equations. Roles of Hartmann number, Knudsen number, fluid - wall interaction parameter anddissipation parameter on the flow formation as well as rate of heat transfer are presented. The results revealed that increase in Hartmann number reduced the influence of viscous as well as Joulean dissipation on the velocity, temperature, skin friction and rate of heat transfer. Effect of Hartmann number, rarefaction parameter, fluid wall interaction parameter as well as buoyancy parameter on temperature and velocity is significantly pronounced in the case of symmetric heating.
