Entwicklung und Inbetriebnahme einer Vorrichtung zur industriellen Aufheizung von PET-Preforms mittels Mikrowellenbeheizung Abschlussbericht

The heating unit of the stretch-blowmolding line exhibits only marginal efficiency and its optiization may enable enormous energy conservation. As the common IR heating for preforms is not appropriate for effective energy conservation, an alternate heating concept based on microwave radiation has been developed, and a prototyp has been built. 3D FEM simulation has been used for the preform heating in a linear heating line with microwave radiation These simulations indicated, that this concept is not efficient.
