The purpose of the graduation thesis is to analyze investments in real estate projects in the company PV Invest d.o.o.. Two projects were chosen for the analysis: construction of a block of flats in the Municipality of Mozirje and construction of houses in the Municipality of Velenje. For this purpose, the residential real estate market analysis for the areas mentioned was conducted. Based on a comparison of already sold real estate properties in question, their average selling price for 2013 was calculated. Our analysis results were compared to the results of the analyses of the residential real estate advertising prices in the Savinja region and in Velenje as well as to the expected price of real estate projects in question. This price was calculated on the basis of costs needed for the project implementation. According to the results, the expected prices for the projects are relatively high in comparison to the estimated market values and average selling price of residential real estate in the region in question respectively. Investors and sellers respectively should keep up to date with happening in the real estate market, and, accordingly, make decisions on investing in construction and selling residential real estate respectively

Motherless Despite Three Mothers: the Plight of the Macedonian Orthodox Church for the Recognition of Autocephaly

In the past, Greece had vigorously objected to Macedonia’s rayed solar flag choice, claiming the star was a Greek emblem. Indeed, the Macedonian flag, together with the name “Macedonia,” became the focus of a long-standing dispute between Greece and Macedonia. In July 1995, Greece went so far as to lodge a request with the World Intellectual Property Organization for exclusive trademark protection of the Star of Vergina. In 1995, due to pressure, the then Republic of Macedonia replaced its “Greek” starburst flag with the current central golden disk. Upon seeing Macedonia’s flag proudly flying atop the Macedonian Embassy near the Vatican, I could not help but wonder: will the design of the national flag of Macedonia change to match the country’s recent name change? Will the Macedonian Orthodox Church limbo be resolved? Will the Catholic Church play any role in this complicated ecclesial-political process

This paper deals with the means for expressing the pragmatic category of focus in Yom, which is an Oti-Volta language of the Yom-Nawdem group spoken by about 74,000 people (Gordon 2005, online version) in the department of Donga in Northern Benin. The study is based on results of my field research carried out in March/April 2005 in Djougou (Benin), within the framework of the project “Focus in Gur and Kwa languages”. Main aim of this fieldwork was to study the expression of focus in Yom. Regarding the basic grammatical structure of the language, I mainly rely on various publications by Beacham (1969, 1991, and 1997)

Male vs. female business owners: Are there differences in investment behavior?

This paper analyzes gender differences in the investment activity of German small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The empirical analysis is carried out on a sample of firms drawn from the KfW Mittelstandspanel, a representative survey of German SMEs for the period from 2003 to 2009. We find evidence that female-owned firms are less likely to invest and if they invest, then their average investment rate is lower. These differences cannot entirely be explained by firm or owner characteristics. Furthermore, women’s investment is less sensitive to cash flow, which indicates that it is unlikely that their lower investment is driven by difficulties in acquiring external finance. An analysis of stated investment goals reveals that women have different preferences and attitudes towards investment. They indicate to a lesser extent aspiring and growth-orientated investment goals like sales increase, innovation/R&D or implementation of new products
