PERKEMBANGAN TARIAN CACI DI DESA BARANG KECAMATAN CIBAL KABUPATEN MANGGARAI TAHUN 1998-2018

Caci dance is one of the folk arts from Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This research was conducted in Barang Village, Cibal District, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. The main problem in this research is the development of the caci dance in Barang Village in 1998-2018. In the process of this research, the research method used is the historical research method. This method includes five stages, namely theme selection, heuristics, criticism, interpretation and histography. The results of this study concluded that Caci Dance in Barang Village began to develop in 1998. Since 1998 the Caci dance has been performed every year in the annual Thanksgiving event. 2002, it can be said that the peak of the caci dance was marked by the high enthusiasm of the community towards the caci dance because it became one of the most interesting forms of entertainment. Until the beginning of 2011, Caci Dance experienced a vacuum due to the development of increasingly sophisticated technology. In early 2016, Caci Dance experienced a period of revival.
