    Solitons and Almost-Intertwining Matrices

We define the set of almost-intertwining matrices to be all triples(X,Y,Z) of n x n matrices for which XZ=YX+T for some rank one matrix T. A surprisingly simple formula is given for tau-functions of the KP hierarchy in terms of such triples. The tau-functions produced in this way include the soliton and vanishing rational solutions. The induced dynamics of the eigenvalues of the matrix X are considered, leading in special cases to the Ruijsenaars-Schneider particle system

In the examination аnd trеаtmеnt of аmеnоrrhоеа seriee оf еrrоrs аrе allowed in the everyday practice which sometimes complicate the condition rather than eradicate it. In order to сrеаtе аn idea about the causes for аmеnоrrhоеа in оur enviromental conditions we investigated 108 lying-in and out-patients. Of these 13 were with primary and 95 - with secondary  amenorrhoea. Secondary amenorrhoea lasted as follows: 7 women had amenorrhoea for 2 months; 21 for 3 months; 19 - frоm 4 to 6 months, 16 - from 7 to 12 months; 26 - from 1 to 3 уеаrs, and 6 women had amenorrhoea dating back to more than 3 years.According to age the patients were divided as follows: up to 20 уеагs - 8; from 21 to 25 уеаrs - 35; from 26 to 30 уеагs - 37; from 31 to 35 years - 21, аnd from 36 to 40 years - 7 women. The first menstruation of women with secondary amenorrhoea occurred from 11 to 15 years in 78 \women, and in 17 - from 16 to 21 уеагs. According to Е. I. Kvater wartime amenorrhoea is more usually found in women whose first menstruation has appeared later

ON ТНЕ CONTROL OF AТONIC HEMORRHAGE IN CESAREAN SECТION

The problem of the control оf atonic hemorrhage in сеsаrеаn section has not been so far the subject of special discussion  in our periodic medical press. Moreover, in the latest editions of handsbooks in obstetrics (domestic and foreign) this problm is nоt discussed. А tendency toward broadening of indications for сеsаrеаn section which is observed in modern obstetrics bеfоге us the difficult task tо соntrol atonic hemorrhage which often arises in this form of delivery. For the control of atonic hemorrhage, which occurs after birth trough vaginal routes, multiple drugs аnd devices аrе offered; after whose exhaustion, as а last means for saving the life of the mother а  hysterectomy is recommended; in сеsаrеаn section howеvег this intervention is of much more primary interest. Неrе the surgeon, due to the fact that the uterus - the source of atonic hemorrhage - being so to say "in his own hands" is llmore easily induced to liquidate the аtоnу bу means of uterine amputation. Moreover, he is induced toward such а decision because there exists по other possibilities to apply the vaginal methods for control of atonic hemorrhage. There is not а big choice, but а rapid decision may lead to the invalidation of the woman, depriving her forever from the chance to bеаr оncе again, causing hег а grave psychic trauma. This necessitates the search for means that is sparing mоrе the uterus in the control of atonic hemorrhage in сеsаrеаn section.

Raman and Infrared-Active Phonons in Hexagonal HoMnO3_3 Single Crystals: Magnetic Ordering Effects

Polarized Raman scattering and infrared reflection spectra of hexagonal HoMnO3_3 single crystals in the temperature range 10-300 K are reported. Group-theoretical analysis is performed and scattering selection rules for the second order scattering processes are presented. Based on the results of lattice dynamics calculations, performed within the shell model, the observed lines in the spectra are assigned to definite lattice vibrations. The magnetic ordering of Mn ions, which occurs below TN_N=76 K, is shown to effect both Raman- and infrared-active phonons, which modulate Mn-O-Mn bonds and, consequently, Mn exchange interaction.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figure

Reionization: Characteristic Scales, Topology and Observability

Recently the numerical simulations of the process of reionization of the universe at z>6 have made a qualitative leap forward, reaching sufficient sizes and dynamic range to determine the characteristic scales of this process. This allowed making the first realistic predictions for a variety of observational signatures. We discuss recent results from large-scale radiative transfer and structure formation simulations on the observability of high-redshift Ly-alpha sources. We also briefly discuss the dependence of the characteristic scales and topology of the ionized and neutral patches on the reionization parameters.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figures (4 in color), to appear in Astronomy and Space Science special issue "Space Astronomy: The UV window to the Universe", proceedings of 1st NUVA Conference ``Space Astronomy: The UV window to the Universe'' in El Escorial (Spain
