    The Features of the Development of the Green Economy of the People’s Republic of China

    The article is aimed at assessing the current state of development of the green economy of China and providing recommendations for the development of the economy of such kind. As a result of the study, the definition of the Β«green economyΒ» was analyzed, information was collected on the origins and development of the conception of the green economy, which covers economic, environmental, and social factors. The place of the People’s Republic of China among the selected countries (Canada, the USA, Germany, Japan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine) according to certain indicators of the green economy, in particular: CO2 emissions, the use of renewable energy sources, research and development costs, air pollution called PM2.5, total greenhouse gas emissions were substantiated. The article also compares the indicators of the green economy in the PRC with the average for all countries of the world. Recommendations for further development of the green economy in the PRC are provided, in particular, it concerns: increasing the volume of construction of environmental protection infrastructure and improving the environmental protection system; increasing investment in education and focusing on human capital; strengthening financial support for the green economy; improvement of the mechanism of patenting inventions and transformation of scientific and technological achievements; combination of the economic and the green development; deepening reforms and opening up to improve the quality of foreign investment. Prospects for further research in this direction are the assessment of the green economy of the PRC in the regional context on the basis of entropy along with systematization of existing indicators, as well as the construction of an own system of indices to assess the level of development of the green economy. Based on the calculated results of the assessment, it would be advisable to provide appropriate policy recommendations for each region of China in order to further develop the green economy

    Developing TheoreticalMethodological Approaches to Assessment of Export Potential of Ukrainian Enterprises

    The article is aimed at studying the existing theoretical-methodological approaches to the analysis and assessment of export potential. The opinions by scientists regarding the disclosure of the categorial content of the concept of Β«export potentialΒ» have been considered, an own definition of the indicated economic category has been suggested. The main types of analytical procedures for assessment have been classified, some authorial methodical approaches to determine the level of export potential have been analyzed. The export potential of a hypothetical enterprise has been calculated by the selected methodologies of assessment. The urgency of improving and refining existing methods to implement more detailed and quantitative analysis has been substantiated. It has been suggested to implement a prognosis assessment of export potential of enterprises by combining the results of several methodologies in the aggregate indicator of export potential efficiency. A prognosis model for the dynamics of export potential of a hypothetical enterprise has been built, value of the aggregate indicator has been calculated on the basis of three selected valuation methodologies

    Scenarios for Development of Scientific and Innovative Potential of Ukraine under Conditions of a New Industrial Revolution and Association with the EU

    The article presents the results of the scenario simulation of scientific and innovative development of Ukraine to determine the appropriate method of its management under conditions of a new industrial revolution and association with the EU. It is shown that the best scenario that in the long run provides a significant improvement in the results of scientific and technological development is a scenario of increasing the level of R&D expenditures to the EU target figure amounting to 4% of GDP. But this scenario is unlikely. It is found that the optimal level of expenditures can be considered as 2.5% of GDP, which can be achieved in the medium term; in this case raising the level of expenditures to 1.7-2% of GDP gives certain results but does not produce sufficient resources for a long-term development. It is proved that in order to achieve significant results in scientific and technological development, the increase in expenditures on R&D should be accompanied by forming clusters, increasing the level of protection of investors, providing development of high-tech industries and employment in this sphere, as well as facilitating the access to ICTs. It is found that a prerequisite for an effective scientific and technological development is stimulation of the population interest in obtaining high-quality professional education, including through the promotion by employers

    The article is devoted to the topic of Ukraine’s readiness for innovations in industry 4.0. The article also discusses the concept of the 4th industrial revolution. The proposed methodology for assessing readiness for innovations is based on the annual ranking of The Global Innovation Index of Cornell University, the French Business School and Research Institute (INSEAD), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and official EU statistics. An analysis was carried out of Ukraine’s readiness for innovation in comparison with EU countries in the area of "The Conditions for Creating Innovative Potential, Level of Innovation Potential, Conditions for Realization of Innovative Potential, Realization of Innovative Potential". A cluster analysis of countries regarding the level of preparedness for innovation based on the indicators was also made. The strengths and weaknesses of Ukraine as an innovative country are highlighted, practical recommendations are also given for improving the level of innovative development in the country

    Advanced Production Technology as the Key to the Qualitative Transformation and Growth of High-Tech Exports in Ukraine until 2030

    The article is concerned with an analysis of the high-tech product export by main producing countries and Ukraine for the period of 2012–2014. A structure mismatch of Ukrainian exports of high-tech products with the corresponding global structure, a catastrophic retardation by contrast to the leading countries in the market of high-tech products, as well as a trend towards widening of this gap in 2012-2014, have been determined. It is proved that any increase or at least preserving the volume of high-tech exports are impossible on the existing industrial base and production technologies. It is displayed that an accumulation of high-tech exports will be possible only with implementation of the prospective production technologies (PPT), based on the own unique scientific-technological groundwork in the next 10–15 years, in view of: transition to the new (projected) materials with desired properties; participation in research on mathematic modeling for intelligent production systems, co-working in the international projects of this kind; participation in pilot projects in the ICT industry; developing industrial nanobiotechnology; carrying out space research and developments in the terms of projects of the European Space Agency

    The article summarizes the main findings regarding a study on global problems, with an emphasis on global energy problems and possible solutions. To find solutions to global problems, the conditions of the new industrial revolution were taken into account, the features of technological development of economies in countries worldwide were investigated and, namely the essence of economic paradigms aimed at solving global problems was determined. Convergence of NBIC-technologies as a key factor of the new industrial revolution were characterized, and the process of converging knowledge, technologies and society as a mechanism for solving global problems was studied. Trends in the development of scientific and technical, innovative activities in Ukraine and countries worldwide were determined.
