Reflection of light from an anisotropic medium

We present here a general approach to treat reflection and refraction of light of arbitrary polarization from single axis anisotropic plates. We show that reflection from interface inside the anisotropic medium is accompanied by beam splitting and can create surface waves.Comment: 16 pages 5 figures I tried to resubmit the paper to redirect it from gen.phys into optics, but I see that it is impossibl

Uncertainty Relations (UR) Have Nothing to do with Quantum Mechanics (QM)

Uncertainty relations are shown to have nothing specific for quantum mechanics, being the general property valid for arbitrary function. A wave function of a particle having precisely defined position and momentum in QM simultaneously is demonstrated. Interference on two slits in a screen is shown to exist in classical mechanics. A nonlinear classical system of equations replacing QM Schr\"odinger equation is suggested. This approach is shown to have nothing in common with Bohmian mechanics.Comment: 5 pages 2 figures in the text, slightly edited and added three sections in reply to a referee repor

Contradiction of the DENSITY MATRIX notion in quantum mechanics

It is shown that description of a nonpolarized neutron beam by density matrix is contradictory. Density matrix is invariant with respect to choice of quantization axis, while experimental devices can discriminate between different quantization axes.Comment: 6 pages, no figures, slightly edite

Contradictions of the quantum scattering theory

The standard scattering theory (SST) in non relativistic quantum mechanics (QM) is analyzed. Self-contradictions of SST are deconstructed. A direct way to calculate scattering probability without introduction of a finite volume is discussed. Substantiation of SST in textbooks with the help of wave packets is shown to be incomplete. A complete theory of wave packets scattering on a fixed center is presented, and its similarity to the plane wave scattering is demonstrated. The neutron scattering on a monatomic gas is investigated, and several problems are pointed out. A catastrophic ambiguity of the cross section is revealed, and a way to resolve this ambiguity is discussed.Comment: 33 pages, 2 figures, It is a version submitted to Phys.Rev.A and rejected. Small paragraph and the discussion with referees is adde

A Model of Violation and Superviolation of Bell's Inequality in Local Quantum Mechanics

A model for violation and even superviolation of the Bell's inequalities in coincidence experiments with photons in local \qm\ is presented. The model is based on assumption that time retardation or losses in an analyzer depend on angle between linear polarization of an incident photon and the analyzer's axis.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure

    Dynamical diffraction

An algebraic approach to neutron scattering on a one dimensional potentials is generalized to diffraction on three dimensional single crystals.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures. A report at XXXII-th ITEP Winter School, Moscow 16-26 Febr. 200

A model of the ball lightning

The ball lightning is supposed to be a shock wave of a point explosion frozen with electrostriction forces of the internal strong laser discharge. The life time of the ball with modest parameters is calculated.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figure. 06.09.11 I improved it V.K.Ignatovich "Neutron stars without gravity" in: Neutron Spectroscopy, Nuclear Structure, Related Topics; ISINN-12 Dubna May26-29, JINR 2004, pp. 117-132; V.K. Scattering of scalar waves on a single crystalline plane

Scattering of a scalar particle on a crystalline plane with quadratic cell and identical fixed scatterers is solved precisely. Contradiction of the standard scattering theory is pointed out.Comment: 14 pages 4 figure

Neutron reflection from condensed matter, the Goos-H\"anchen effect and coherence

The Goos-H\"anchen (G-H) effect for neutron reflection from condensed matter is considered. An experiment to quantify the effect is proposed. The relation of G-H shift to the neutron coherence length is considered.Comment: 12 pages 5 .eps figure

Reflection of neutrons from fan-like magnetic systems

An analytical solution is found for neutron reflection coefficients from magnetic mirrors with fan-like magnetization. The main feature of the reflection curves related to this type of magnetization is pointed out. The results of calculations for some parameters of the system are presented. Time parity and detailed balance violation in the model are discussed.Comment: 17 pages, 5 figure
