    Impact of Product Innovation on Organisational Performance (A Survey of Nestle Nigeria Plc)

    This study was designed to investigate the impact of product innovation on organizational performance. The data was collected from the production department, research and development department, sales department, marketing department, and quality and control department, which have been involving greatly in product innovation process. A total of 340 copies of useable questionnaires were completed.The results of the study were interpreted using SPSS package for the analysis of some appropriate statistical methods such as regression and correlation. The findings show that the impact of product innovation on organisational performance was higher in the company when consumers perceive product innovation as stronger, more favourable and more unique. Creativity/quality of the innovation process exerts a positive influence on product and organisational performance. The study has supported previous studies on product innovation and performance especially in developing economies such as Nigeria, Malaysia, Ghana, and among others. Therefore, it was recommended that creative/quality innovations should be maintained continuously to develop appropriate product continually and increase the organisational performance.     Effect of Bold Display of Mission Statement on the Performance of Insurance Industry in Nigeria

    Over the past 20 years mission statements have become one of the most popular management tools. Despite the enormous popularity of mission statements it has been plagued with some constraints. Some of which are wrong application of mission statement, poor organization structure, unethical attitudes of insurance practitioners and lack of conformity to the rules and standards by insurance organization’s workers towards the actualization of strategic goals. This study examined the effect of mission statement on business performance in Nigerian insurance industry. The descriptive research design was use. Based on a survey of 120 staff, this paper explored staff’s state of awareness of mission statements, perceptions about the bold display of mission statement and whether the organization’s mission statements has effect on their performance. Findings indicated that there was a weak positive relationship between bold display of mission statement and organization’s performance in aspect of profit making and also that there was a weak negative influence of mission statement on insurance business performance in Nigeria.     This research examines effect of Inventory Management Practices on Financial Performance of Larfage Wapco Plc, Nigeria, by analyzing the extent to which value of stock carried and inventory policies employed has on cost of goods sold and profitability respectively in the firm. Survey design method was adopted for this work, which made use of Annual audited financial reports. Field design coupled with descriptive statistics was also used. The findings of study for hypothesis 1 showed that there was a significant relationship between the value of stock carried and cost of goods sold over the years between 2005 – 2013.........

    Agro -Allied Small And Medium Scale Business And Economic Growth Of Nigeria (1976-2021)

    Agro-allied industries rely on agriculture for raw materials in order to produce finished goods that are helpful to livestock and people. The study examined the impact of agro allied small and medium scale business on economic growth of Nigeria between 1976 and 2020. The data was sourced from CBN Statistical Bulletin and analysed using econometric techniques such as ordinary least square, error correction model etc with the aid of EViews software. The Regression result showed that a positive and significant relationship exist between agro allied SMEs has a significant impact on real gross domestic product (R2 =0.586, Adjusted R2 = 0.577, p value= 0.02). The study concluded that agro allied small and medium scale business has moderate positive impact on economic growth of Nigeria. This study therefore recommends that the emphasis should be on modern technology to improve agro allied business to make economy more functional, relevant and growth driven

    Impact of Human Resource Management Practices on Employees’ Behavioural Outcomes in the Manufacturing Sub-Sector of South-West Nigeria

    Most authors agree that Human Resources is the most important input available to any organisation. As such, scholars generally believe that Human Resource Management (HRM) practices have positive impact on firm performance. This belief is hinged on the fact that positive HRM practices strengthen competence, motivation, commitment and other employee outcomes leading to an improved organisational performance. However, there exists limited empirical evidence that connects HRM practices to employee outcomes. This study investigated the impact of HRM practices on competence, commitment, job satisfaction, motivation, cooperation with management, cooperation with co-workers, employee presence and compliance in the manufacturing sub-sector of South – Western Nigeria.  To achieve this objective, the study adopted cross sectional survey research design where data was collected from 381 middle level managers of manufacturing companies in Lagos, Nigeria selected using stratified and random sampling techniques.  Data were analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Results show that HRM practices determine and predict components of employee outcomes. In other words, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation management, occupational health and safety and career growth and development all determine competence, commitment, job satisfaction, motivation, cooperation with management, cooperation with co-workers, presence and compliance all in varying degrees. The study justified investment in HRM and therefore recommends bundled approach to the application of HRM practice. Other results are and implications are discussed in the article.
