    The effect of financial technology on Islamic banks performance in Jordan: Panel data analysis

    Thanks to technological advancements in finance, Islamic banking might surely spread throughout developing nations and become more viable in the financial industry. The present investigation aims to thoroughly explore the impact of fintech upon Islamic banks and also investigate how fintech facilities affect Islamic banks performance within Jordan. A strategy known as a quantitative-descriptive inquiry was used in the inquiry. This study made use of yearly data (a panel data) that was collected from banking organizations using statistics based on yearly reports provided by Jordan Islamic bank, Safwa Islamic Bank and International Arab Islamic Bank listed alongside the Amman Stock Exchange between 2017 and 2021. The study discovered that financial performance of Islamic Banks was significantly impacted by Fintech services including online banking along with mobile banking. The increased beta value predicts that between 2017 to 2021, the financial prosperity of Arab Islamic International Bank, Jordan Islamic Bank, and Safwa Islamic Bank would be positively correlated with Fintech services. Additionally, it was discovered that SMS Financing and crowdsourcing had a detrimental impact on Islamic Banks financial performance. The investigation concludes by recommending that Islamic banking included in the study step up their attempts to educate the public about Islamic banking facilities

In modern conditions, the level of management of IT infrastructure, data, applications and systems has a direct and measurable impact on the success of companies, which is relevant for detailed study. Regardless of the size of the business, it is always necessary to ensure high quality of IT services, their availability and continuity. The key goal of the study is to highlight the main aspects of optimizing the efficiency of the energy sector. To achieve the goal, mathematical modeling and calculation tools were used to calculate the parameters of server computer systems and networks. To achieve the set goals and objectives, a mathematical model was developed for calculating the main parameters of server computing systems and networks, which makes it possible to increase the efficiency of using the resources of server computers in the energy industry. The efficiency of managing the IT infrastructure of energy companies ensures fault tolerance, availability and competitiveness of services in the market. The results presented can be applied in practice when planning and managing the IT infrastructure of a company in the energy sector

    Islamic financial technology acceptance: An empirical study in Jordan

    The present research endeavors to comprehend the determinants that impact the inclination to utilize financial technology within the context of Islamic banking clientele. The study undertakes an examination of various determinants that may exert an influence on the consumer's intention. These determinants encompass financial risk, legal risk, security risk, operational risk, consumer innovativeness, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness. The technology acceptance model is employed as the theoretical framework for the research. The requisite data for hypothesis testing is collected through the administration of an online survey to consumers of Islamic banks who possess a high degree of adaptability and proficiency in utilizing financial technology. The study employs the methodology of structural equation modelling with partial least squares to assess the proposed relationships among a sample of 399 participants. The results indicate that the acceptance of Islamic Financial technology services is contingent upon the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and consumer innovativeness. In contrast, it is observed that various other factors, namely financial risk, legal risk, security risk, and operational risk, do not hold significant sway in shaping the level of acceptance of Islamic Financial technology among users of Islamic banking services. The concept of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is expanded within the realm of Islamic financial technology, and it is utilized to examine the impact of a novel factor, specifically consumer innovativeness. The untested nature of consumer innovativeness makes this paper a valuable resource for policymakers, academics, and researchers in the future

    Reducing the environmental impact of surgery on a global scale: systematic review and co-prioritization with healthcare workers in 132 countries

    Abstract Background Healthcare cannot achieve net-zero carbon without addressing operating theatres. The aim of this study was to prioritize feasible interventions to reduce the environmental impact of operating theatres. Methods This study adopted a four-phase Delphi consensus co-prioritization methodology. In phase 1, a systematic review of published interventions and global consultation of perioperative healthcare professionals were used to longlist interventions. In phase 2, iterative thematic analysis consolidated comparable interventions into a shortlist. In phase 3, the shortlist was co-prioritized based on patient and clinician views on acceptability, feasibility, and safety. In phase 4, ranked lists of interventions were presented by their relevance to high-income countries and low–middle-income countries. Results In phase 1, 43 interventions were identified, which had low uptake in practice according to 3042 professionals globally. In phase 2, a shortlist of 15 intervention domains was generated. In phase 3, interventions were deemed acceptable for more than 90 per cent of patients except for reducing general anaesthesia (84 per cent) and re-sterilization of ‘single-use’ consumables (86 per cent). In phase 4, the top three shortlisted interventions for high-income countries were: introducing recycling; reducing use of anaesthetic gases; and appropriate clinical waste processing. In phase 4, the top three shortlisted interventions for low–middle-income countries were: introducing reusable surgical devices; reducing use of consumables; and reducing the use of general anaesthesia. Conclusion This is a step toward environmentally sustainable operating environments with actionable interventions applicable to both high– and low–middle–income countries

    Technological turbulence as hindrance between factors influencing readiness of senior management and implementing blockchain technology in Jordanian Islamic banks: a structural equation modeling approach

    Abstract The purpose of the study was to identify the factors that influence senior management for adopting blockchain technology in the banking industry in general and Islamic banking in particular. Furthermore, the research addressed the moderating role of technological turbulence as it holds a significant hindering role. This study employed the analytical approach, and the data were collected through questionnaires distributed to several senior management employees in both the Jordan Islamic Bank and the Islamic Arab Bank. The research instrument was developed and confirmed by the experts in the field. For identifying the significance of the variables incorporated in the researchers applied structural equation modeling technique. The findings revealed that economic efficiency, bank security, customer expectations, education, training and preparation all are significant predictors of readiness for implementing blockchain technology in the Islamic banks in Jordan. The study concluded that blockchain technology should be adopted by all Islamic banks because of its advantages and also the management needs to be educated regarding the same; they should be provided appropriate training

    Impact of fintech over consumer experience and loyalty intentions: an empirical study on Jordanian Islamic Banks

    The purpose of the study was to identify the impact of fintech over consumers loyalty intentions among Islamic banks. The study covered six independent variables that were taken as a means for showing fintech services which might have a significant impact over consumer experience. Consumer experience has been operationalized taking three dimensions namely, cognitive, affective, and social, whereas fintech services have been measured using six dimensions namely, ease of use, perceived value, consumer support, assurance, speed, and innovativeness. The results of the study drawn on the basis of a sample of 384 respondents who were the consumers of Islamic banks, using structural equation modeling revealed that all the six independent variables have a significant direct impact over dependent variable. While analyzing the mediating role of consumer experience using three dimensions out of six mediating roles, only affective experience between perceived value and loyalty intentions, social experience between consumer support and loyalty intentions, affective experience between assurance and loyalty intentions, and cognitive experience between assurance and loyalty intentions have shown insignificant impact and all other mediating roles have been found significant which is a major contribution of the study. The study is important for academicians as well as practitioners as it guides the management of Islamic banks about the factors that they should focus while opening horizons for future research
