    Media dan teknologi pembelajaran telah banyak mempengaruhi corak pendidikan di seluruh dunia. Ini dapat dilihat menerusi pengevolusian dalam kaedah pendidikan di China menekankan keperluan pendekatan pengajaran yang terbaru dalam menggantikan pembelajaran tradisional bagi menyediakan lebih ramai pelajar untuk berjaya dalam abad ke-21. Maka, penggunaan robotik dijadikan sebagai langkah inovasi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran diperingkat dunia. Pembelajaran menerusi robotik dilihat sebagai salah satu cara untuk menarik minat bagi pelajar yang bergelut melalui pembelajaran secara konvensional di sekolah. Kajian ini juga tidak terhad kepada mana-mana pendekatan pembelajaran. Hal ini disebabkan sifat robotik itu sendiri yang boleh fleksibel dan amat inklusif bagi pelajar yang berbakat dan pelajar yang mempunyai masalah pembelajaran. Justeru, kertas kerja ini akan membentangkan meta analisis tentang (a) mengenalpasti jenis robotik yang digunakan di peringkat sekolah (b) mengenal pasti kajian berkenaan mengaplikasi robotik sebagai alat pendidikan dalam bidang STEM (c) membentangkan sintesis bukti empirikal pada keberkesanan pendidikan robotik menerusi kaedah kajian kuantitatif yang dipilih

    Teaching methods should edify towards students’ cognitive aspects in mastering scientific skills. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between cognitive styles (CS) and scientific skill (SS) among form four physics students in the topic of Forces and Motion. Two types of cognitive styles had been focused in the research namely Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD). The study involved 216 respondents that consists of form four students from Alor Gajah district, Malacca who are taking physics subject in Pure Science stream. Two sets of test set had been handed out to the respondents which were the Ujian Kumpulan Bentuk-bentuk Terpendam (UKBT) and Ujian Kemahiran Saintifik Dalam Daya (UKSD). UKBT contains 24 complex figure and respondents were required to find a simple diagram in every complex figure. UKSD consists of 26 subjective questions on forces and motion that were constructed based on Curriculum Spesifications Physics Form Four, Integrated Curriculum for Secondary Schools (CDC, 2006). Time allocated was 80 minutes. The reliability and validity of UKBT was established at 0.82 and for UKSD is 0.83. To analyse the findings, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were invoked. After analyzing, it was found that 86 respondents were FI while 68 respondents were FD. The remaining of 62 respondents were at the intermediate cognitive style. Besides that, FI samples are noted to have better control over their SS compared to FD respondents. However CS is not depend on SS. Moreover, FI respondents also have the ability in solving conceptual and analyse question compared to FD respondents. Despite that, FD respondent was better in generalizing information than FI respondents. Two independent variables were chosen and they were school’s location and gender. Study findings show that there are no significant relationships between cognitive styles with school’s location and sc gender.     Berdasarkan Gelombang 1 dalam Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia (PPPM) 2013-2025, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia akan memberikan tumpuan pada peningkatan prestasi sistem pendidikan negara. Ini berdasarkan penurunan peratusan markah dalam Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) dan Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Dalam usaha merealisasikan hasrat PPPM, bahan sumber Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran (PdP) Sains dan Matematik dibangunkan dengan berteraskan pembentukan kemahiran berfikir aras tinggi (KBAT). Dapatan TIMSS dan PISA jelas menunjukkan murid di Malaysia lemah dalam domain kognitif yang melibatkan KBAT seperti menaakul, mengaplikasi, menganalisis, menilai dan mencipta. Berdasarkan kajian-kajian lepas di peringkat antarabangsa, robotik digunakan dalam pendidikan dapat meningkatkan penguasaan pelajar dari domain kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor.     Vaccine Knowledge, Awareness and Hesitancy: A Cross Sectional Survey among Parents Residing at Sandakan District, Sabah

    Background: Incomplete childhood immunization against communicable diseases is a major concern and vaccine hesitancy remains a hurdle to overcome in primary vaccination programs. This study was to examine the parents’ vaccine knowledge, awareness and hesitancy in relation to their children’s immunization status. Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire study design was used. The parents who brought their children for immunization visit or follow-up at four public health clinics located in Sandakan district were invited to participate in this survey. Informed consent was obtained before each participant completed a hard copy of self-administered questionnaire in either English or Malay versions. Results: Of 405 parents responded, they generally had good knowledge and awareness of vaccines, only a small percentage (6.8%) of parents were found vaccine hesitant. There were significant differences in vaccine knowledge and awareness in those from different education levels and employment status; similarly, these two factors also significantly affected the vaccine hesitancy among the parents. The parents’ knowledge score was found to be moderately associated with their awareness (r = 0.551, p p n = 376, 92.8%) in the study were immunized. The children’s immunization status was significantly associated with the parents’ education level (p = 0.025). There was also a significant difference in the total vaccine knowledge scores between the groups of parents with different child immunization status (p = 0.05). Conclusion: This study revealed that parents with higher education had a better knowledge of vaccinations, were less vaccine hesitant and were more likely to ensure that their children complete the recommended course of immunization. It is crucial to ensure parents are well-informed about the safety and efficacy of vaccines so that the children are protected from communicable diseases by the child vaccination program
