Tunnel spectroscopy in ac-driven quantum dot nanoresonators

Electronic transport in a triple quantum dot shuttle device in the presence of an ac field is analyzed within a fully quantum mechanical framework. A generalized density matrix formalism is used to describe the time evolution for electronic state occupations in a dissipative phonon bath. In the presence of an ac gate voltage, the electronic states are dressed by photons and the interplay between photon and vibrational sidebands produces current characteristics that obey selection rules. Varying the ac parameters allows to tune the tunneling current features. In particular, we show that coherent destruction of tunneling can be achieved in our device

A mechanism for unipolar resistance switching in oxide non-volatile memory devices

Building on a recently introduced model for non-volatile resistive switching, we propose a mechanism for unipolar resistance switching in metal-insulator-metal sandwich structures. The commutation from the high to low resistance state and back can be achieved with successive voltage sweeps of the same polarity. Electronic correlation effects at the metal-insulator interface are found to play a key role to produce a resistive commutation effect in qualitative agreement with recent experimental reports on binary transition metal oxide based sandwich structures.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure

Long-distance radiative corrections to the di-pion tau lepton decay

    Get PDF
We evaluate the model-dependent piece of O(alpha) long-distance radiative corrections to tau^- \to \pi^- \pi^0\nu_{\tau} decays by using a meson dominance model. We find that these corrections to the di-pion invariant mass spectrum are smaller than in previous calculations based on chiral perturbation theory. The corresponding correction to the photon inclusive rate is tiny (-0.15%) but it can be of relevance when new measurements reach better precision.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures. An estimate of the shift produced in the evaluation of the h.v.p. contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment is added. Version to appear in Phys. Rev.

Beyond the soft photon approximation in radiative production and decay of charged vector mesons

    Get PDF
We study the effects of model-dependent contributions and the electric quadrupole moment of vector mesons in the decays VPP0γV^- \to P^-P^0\gamma and τνVγ\tau^- \to \nu V^-\gamma. Their interference with the amplitude originating from the radiation due to electric charges vanishes for photons emitted collinearly to the charged particle in the final state. This brings further support to our claim in previous works, that measurements of the photon energy spectrum for nearly collinear photons in those decays are suitable for a first measurement of the magnetic dipole moment of charged vector mesons.Comment: 13 pages, 2 eps figures, Latex.
