    Mean first-passage times for an ac-driven magnetic moment of a nanoparticle

    The two-dimensional backward Fokker-Planck equation is used to calculate the mean first-passage times (MFPTs) of the magnetic moment of a nanoparticle driven by a rotating magnetic field. It is shown that a magnetic field that is rapidly rotating in the plane {\it perpendicular} to the easy axis of the nanoparticle governs the MFPTs just in the same way as a static magnetic field that is applied {\it along} the easy axis. Within this framework, the features of the magnetic relaxation and net magnetization of systems composed of ferromagnetic nanoparticles arising from the action of the rotating field are revealed.Comment: 7 pages, 1 figur

    Stable dynamics in forced systems with sufficiently high/low forcing frequency

    We consider a class of parametrically forced Hamiltonian systems with one-and-a-half degrees of freedom and study the stability of the dynamics when the frequency of the forcing is relatively high or low. We show that, provided the frequency of the forcing is sufficiently high, KAM theorem may be applied even when the forcing amplitude is far away from the perturbation regime. A similar result is obtained for sufficiently low frequency forcing, but in that case we need the amplitude of the forcing to be not too large; however we are still able to consider amplitudes of the forcing which are outside of the perturbation regime. Our results are illustrated by means of numerical simulations for the system of a forced cubic oscillator. In addition, we find numerically that the dynamics are stable even when the forcing amplitude is very large (beyond the range of validity of the analytical results), provided the frequency of the forcing is taken correspondingly low.Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures, 2 table

    The effect of Mexidol on physical performance of mice under the extreme conditions of the weight-loaded forced swim test and on the mental performance of rats under the conditions of a neurosis-like state caused by a functional disturbance of a defensive instrumental conditioned active avoidance reflex was studied. A single dose (50 and 100 mg/kg) or a subchronic regimen (100 mg/kg) of Mexidol administered intrapertoneally enhances the physical performance of mice similarly to mildronate (100 mg/kg).     The effect of triftazin (trifluoperazine) on social interaction abnormalities as a main feature of autism spectrum disorders, exploratory behavior and learning capacity was studied in rats with fetal valproatate syndrome.     Volume element structure and roton-maxon-phonon excitations in superfluid helium beyond the Gross-Pitaevskii approximation

    We propose a theory which deals with the structure and interactions of volume elements in liquid helium II. The approach consists of two nested models linked via parametric space. The short-wavelength part describes the interior structure of the fluid element using a non-perturbative approach based on the logarithmic wave equation; it suggests the Gaussian-like behaviour of the element's interior density and interparticle interaction potential. The long-wavelength part is the quantum many-body theory of such elements which deals with their dynamics and interactions. Our approach leads to a unified description of the phonon, maxon and roton excitations, and has noteworthy agreement with experiment: with one essential parameter to fit we reproduce at high accuracy not only the roton minimum but also the neighboring local maximum as well as the sound velocity and structure factor.Comment: 9 pages, 6 figure

    Antiparkinsonian, anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity of ADK-1058, a metabolite of hemantane, was investigated in comparison with hemantane at the effective dose of 20 mg/kg. ADK-1058 exhibits a minor antiparkinsonian effect by reducing the severity of oLigokinesia in C57BL/6 mice with MPTP-induced parkinsonian syndrome. ADK-1058 exhibits anti-inflammatory activity in the model of acetic acid peritonitis, but has no analgesic effect in visceral or somatic pain in mice.     ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL MECHANISMS OF ANTIEPILEPTIC ACTIONS REALIZATION OF BEPRODON

    The purpose of this research was to study electric and physiological mechanisms of the achievement of the antoconvulsant effect of the new original beprodon combination together with determination of determinant brain structures – therapeutic targets.Materials and Methods. Partial (focal) and secondary generalized convulsions were generated using the method of creation of a chronic epileptogenic focus, caused by the cobalt application on rats’ brain.Results: it was revealed, that at the first stage of the epileptic system (ES) beprodone is targeted to cortical focuses, and at the second stage – to subcortical focuses, generating epileptic activities. Conclusion: the beprodone effect depends on the stage of the epileptic system development and is targeted to determinant focuses
