    Sintesis Nanokristal Lapo4 yang Didoping Logam Tanah Jarang dan Sifat Luminisensinya

    Lanthanum ortophosphate (LaPO4) yang didopingdengan ion logam tanah jarang (Ce3+, Eu3+ dan Gd3+)telah disintesis dengan metode larutan sederhana.Larutan prekursor yang disiapkan sebagai sumberion logam tanah jarang berasal dari golongangaram nitrat yang mudah larut dalam air. Dalamrangka mencegah aglomerasi yang kuat antarpartikel, dalam proses sintesis, polyethylene glycol(MW 20.000) telah ditambahkan ke dalam larutanprekursor. Struktur dan ukuran kristal dari pertikelyang dihasilkan telah diinvestigasi menggunakanpola difraksi sinar-x dengan bantuan persamaanScherrer. Derajat kekristalan yang tinggi darinanokristal LaPO4 hasil sintesis menunjukkankesesuaian dengan JCPDS 32-0493. Berdasarkanspektrum fotoluminisensi dapat diamati bahwaLaPO4 telah berhasil diaktivasi menjadi phosphororange-merah dengan penambahan ion Eu3+ dan ionCe3+.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh beda media pendingin pada proses hardening pada kekerasan pegas daun. Proses penelitian adalah dengan jalan memanasan pegas daun sampai suhu didaerah atau diatas daerah kritis disusul dengan pendinginan yang cepat. Bila kadar karbon diketahui, suhu pemanasannya dapat dibaca dari diagram fasa besi-carbida . Akan tetapi bila komposisi baja tidak diketahui, perlu diadakan percobaan untuk mengetahui daerah pemanasannya. Cara yang terbaik ialah memanaskan dan mencelup beberapa potongan baja pada suhu tertentu disusul dengan pengujian kekerasan. Bila suhu yang tepat telah diperoleh akan terjadi Perubahan dalam kekerasan dan sifat lainnya.Hardening dilakukan untuk memperoleh sifat tahan aus yang tinggi, kekuatan dan fatigue limit/ strength yang lebih baik, dan untuk mendapatkan kekerasan yang tinggi. Setelah dilakukan hardening langkah selanjutnya yaitu setelah didapat hasil kekerasan maka dapat dibandingkan hasil kekerasan dari empat sampel dan diambil atau kekerasan yang paling tinggi.Pengolahan data hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan analisa statistic ANOVA Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 9 buah, untuk masing-masing media pendingin 3 sampel. Dari hasil pengolahan data tersebut terlihat bahwa Levene Statistik adalah 8,467 dengan nilai sig sebesar 0,018, yang berarti varian dari nilai kekerasan dalah sama. Sedangkan dengan melihat nilai F hitung sebesar 1,345 dengan nilai sig sebesar 0,329. Dengan hasil tesebut dimana F tabel sebesar 5,99 yaitu F hitung kecil dari F tabel bararti rata-rata nilai kekerasan setiap sistem adalah sama.Kesamaan Rata-rata dari nilai kekerasan adalah signifikan.     ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menemukan model pembelajaran IPA secara kafah sebagai pemecahan permasalahan multidimesional yang dihadapi peserta didik saat ini dan dimasa yang akan datang. Model yang didapat merupakan hasil pemikiran, analisa dan penelahaan buku, artikel, tulisan ilmiah dan diskusi dengan pakar pendidikan serta pengalaman dalam memberikan pelatihan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran IPA di SEQIP. Model mempunyai 3 tahapan pokok yaitu pembuka pelajaran, kegiatan inti dan kegiatan pemantapan. Tahapan utama yang berisi kebermaknaan konsep yang ditemukan terdapat pada tahapan setelah kesimpulan dan kegiatan pemantapan yaitu menyampaikan kebermaknaan konsep yang didapatkan dengan mengintegrasikan pada religi, moral, sikap dan akhlak dan penerapan konsep yang ditemukan terhadap sains, teknologi, rekayasa dan matematika.  Kata kunci: model pembelajaran; IPA; kafah. ABSTRACTThis study aims to find a comprehensive science learning model as a solution to multidimensional problems faced by students today and in the future. The model has 3 main stages, namely opening lessons, core activities and strengthening activities.     Fenomena Sains sebagai Alternatif Meningkatkan Kecakapan Hidup

    Morals are very important, so Allah SWT sent his messenger to fix it. Morals, attitude and character positive are life skills. Life skills cannot be taught, they should be transmitted, so a model is needed to be imitated. Scientific phenomena have the potential to be a model. Nature saves a lot of messages from Allah SWT which, if digested, becomes knowledge. One of the scientific phenomena in nature that can be used as knowledge and improve life skills are butterflies and magnets. Literature study is used to analyze scientific phenomena from several aspects, namely 1) religion based on Al-Quran and Hadith, 2) scientific concepts of phenomena found in nature, 3) application in life, and 4) integration in life skills. Butterflies can be a model of the importance of self-control to be good and not give up quickly in the face of difficulties and the belief that with difficulties there is ease. Magnets become a model of unity, rhythm, agreement, strength will be achieved. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the creation of Allah SWT in nature in the form of scientific phenomena can be a model for improving life skills

    Circumbinary habitability niches

    ABSTRACT: Binaries could provide the best niches for life in the Galaxy. Although counterintuitive, this assertion follows directly from stellar tidal interaction theory and the evolution of lower mass stars. There is strong evidence that chromospheric activity of rapidly rotating young stars may be high enough to cause mass loss from atmospheres of potentially habitable planets. The removal of atmospheric water is most critical. Tidal breaking in binaries could help reduce magnetic dynamo action and thereby chromospheric activity in favour of life. We call this the Binary Habitability Mechanism (BHM) that we suggest allows for water retention at levels comparable to or better than the Earth. We discuss novel advantages that life may exploit, in these cases, and suggest that life may even thrive on some circumbinary planets. We find that while many binaries do not benefit from BHM, high-quality niches do exist for various combinations of stars between 0.55 and 1.0 solar masses. For a given pair of stellar masses, BHM operates only for certain combinations of period and eccentricity. Binaries having a solar-type primary seem to be quite well-suited niches having wide and distant habitable zones with plentiful water and sufficient light for photosynthetic life. We speculate that, as a direct result of BHM, conditions may be suitable for life on several planets and possibly even moons of giant planets orbiting some binaries. Lower mass combinations, while more restrictive in parameter space, provide niches lasting many billions of years and are rich suppliers of photosynthetic photons

    A Retrospective Study of the Investigation of Homicidal Childhood Asphyxial Deaths

    As one of the leading causes of traumatic deaths in newborns, infants, and young children, there is no anatomic or microscopic feature that is pathognomonic for asphyxial deaths. Instead, pathologists rely on investigation information, including confessions and/or witness statements, and potential evidence at the scene. Twenty cases of homicidal newborn, infant, and young children asphyxial deaths were reviewed, which included death and police investigation reports and autopsy reports, as well as histology slides of lung sections. This series of homicidal asphyxial deaths highlight that, in a vast majority of such cases, the final cause and manner of death rulings are dependent on confession by the perpetrator. Furthermore, this series highlights the possible role of histology to help forensic pathologists better certify asphyxial deaths.     THE POTENTIAL OF INDONESIAN GRAPHITE AS RDE FUEL MATRIX. The development plan of Ex- perimental Power Reactor (RDE) in Indonesia is non-commercial and leads to the technology type of Pebble Bed Reactor (PBR) - High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor (HTGR). The fuel used for PBR reactors is kernel dispersed in spherical fuel elements. The matrix used in PBR nuclear fuel is graphite which functions as a neutron moderator, fuel protective material and heat conductor. Domestication of the domestic fuel matrix needs to be conducted to improve national independence. Therefore, it is necessary to do research on the potential of local graphite to be used as RDE fuel matrix. This study focused on the identification and characterization of local and commercial graphite. The results are compared with the literature, how far it is fulfilling nuclear grade graphite for PBR fuel matrix. Characterization of graphite includes phase analysis with XRD, micro- structure with SEM, surface area/porosity, impurities determination with AAS, ICP-OES and NAA, equivalent boron content, carbon content, density, particle size distribution and ash content. The characterization results show that the carbon content obtained was 87.0 ± 4.2% for local graphite and 100% for commercial graphite. Meanwhile, for the purposes of nuclear graphite it requires a carbon content of >99%. The impurity content in local and commercial graphite still does not meet the RDE fuel matrix standard. The results of XRD analysis show that the local graphite phase is the same as the commercial graphite phase, namely the 2H graphite hexagonal crystal system with the lattice group of P 63/mmc. Particle size distribution and surface area of local graphite are higher compared to nuclear graphite literature. The ash content of commercial graphite was 0.236 ± 0.029 and local graphite was 9.587 ± 0.010%. The results of this study indicate that the local graphite from the flotation still requires a further refinement process to obtain local graphite that can be used as a fuel matrix for RDE

    . A cross sectional study was carried out to determine health seeking behaviour of dengue patient in Ciamis district. Subjects were 80 dengue patient\u27s care taker chosen by purposive sampling. Data was presented descriptively. The result showed based on the first place of treatment, pattern of treatment seeking behavior were identified the most common one was using public hospital as the first step. Pattern of treatment seeking behavior of the patient\u27s care taker that injluenced decision making to take treatment alternatives included knowledge, attitude and practice about the caused, symptomp \u27s, virulence and transmission of dengue virus infection; the distanee to treatment places and family role (husband/wife) were important for caretakers to take into consideration when making treatment choices
