This research was designed to describe the significant of the correlation between reading motivation and reading comprehension. The aim was to find out the correlation between students' reading motivation and students' reading comprehension. This Correlation research took place in SMK Taruna Satria Pekanbaru in July 2015. The sample was 36 students from First Year students that took by using cluster random sampling. In collecting the data, there were 30 questions that included in this test. The duration time for doing the test was 90 minutes. The data was analyzed by calculating the students' score in reading motivation, finding out the reading comprehension score and correlating the two variables. The students' score classified into three level of students' reading motivation; they are: Low, Moderate, and High. Besides, the students' score classified into five level mastery of Reading Comprehension; they are: very poor, poor, mediocre, good, and excellent. The data was presented by using graphic. Based on the result finding of this research, the coefficient correlation ( obtained was 0,424. Therefore, it answered the research that there was a relationship between reading motivation and reading comprehension in moderate level. For more details, the correlation of intrinsic motivation and reading comprehension is significant in 0,016 by the coefficient correlation 0,399 that considered as low correlation. In another side, the correlation of extrinsic motivation and reading comprehension is significant in 0,000 by the coefficient correlation 0,599 that considered as moderate correlation. It can be concluded that based on the data that was analyzed, the students reading extrinsic motivation influence the students' comprehension more than the intrinsic motivation. In other words, the contribution of reading motivation towards reading comprehension significant enough for the first year students of SMK Taruna Satria Pekanbaru. Another result from the students perception about the teacher's teaching method as extrinsic motivation factor found out that they are more motivated if the teacher teaches them by speech as one of the stages of inquiry based learning than teacher teaching by group discussion and questioning

This research described a competence levels of students on learning natural sciencesin elementary school. Specifically, we measure student’s capacity in understanding of energyand weather concepts. This research involved 64 students on elementary school. The data takesfrom class promotion test with consisting multiple choice questions (MCQ) and Essay Test. Dataanalysis was produced using the Partial Credit Model (PCM) Rasch measurement. The RaschPCM specifies that each item has its own scale rating structure, so the two test types can beanalysed simultaneously. The results showed that in general the students had difficulty toconcluding the observation that the motion of the object was influenced by its shape and size;and pointed out of the relation between cloud and weather conditions. On the separate part, students clearly realize how to conserve the energy in everyday life; and interpret the effects ofweather for human life. Furthermore, the MCQ test is problematic than the Essay Test forstudents. The average male student has better ability than the female students to comprehend thelearning materials

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of bay leaf extract mouthwashes on plaque formation. This type of research was experimental with pretest and posttest control group design. The number of samples was 30 students of class V SDN Meteseh, Tembalang, Semarang. The samples were divided into two groups, group I were rinsed with salam leaf extract and group II distilled water rinse. Plaque was measured using the plaque index by PHP before and after rinsing leaves extract. Analysis of the data used is the Independent Sample t - Test. The test results showed that the value of p = 0,000 which means a decrease in plaque index occurs significantly in the control and treatment groups. Independent Sample t - Test showed that the value of p = 0,005 so there was a significant difference between the control group rinsed with distilled water rinse treatment group to the salam leaf extract (Eugenia polyantha Wight). It can be concluded that gargling salam leaf extract could reduce the formation of dental plaque

This paper aims to compare the accuracy of three methods of sampling, namely Simple Random Sampling (SRS), Systematic Random Sampling and Stratified Random Sampling. The data used as the simulation is data PODES 2011. So the data that is used as a parameter in this study are primary data in the form of data results PODES 2011 were rural / village with minimarket (RVM). The method of analysis is done in two stages. The first phase saw the condition of the minimarket population data as a basis for exploration. The second stage of the estimation simulate the total population and the variance by using simple random sampling, systematic random sampling, and stratified random sampling. The next stage of comparing the results of estimation of population parameters of the sampling methods to the total population of the minimarket PODES 2011. The results are reviewed based on the accuracy of each method. Stratified random sampling method (DKM as a base coating) with a sample size of 500 generate predicted values with the highest degree of accuracy compared with the SRS and systematic random sampling. Its bias value at 22 outlets, its standard error of 2606.2 outlets, and his MSE of 6.79254 million. Keywords: accuracy, comparison, simple, systematic, stratified, rando
