Epithelial ovarian cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in women. To date, an effective screening tool for ovarian cancer has not been identified Several clinical and biological factors including serum cancer antigen 125 (CA- 125) have been assessed for prognostic and predictive relevance CA-125 is an epithelial marker derived from coelomic epithelium. It is elevated in 90% of advanced ovarian cancers and in 50% of early ovarian cancers while 20% of ovarian cancers have low or no expression of CA- 125 CA-125 concentrations were measured by Mini Vidas test (VIDAS CA125 II / BIOMERIEUX / France). The median CA-125 levels were significantly higher in the sera of ovarian cancer patients than in those with benign tumors and in healthy controls. However in correlation with stages the results showed that Patients with stage II have highly significant differences in level of serum CA125 compare with stage I in and stage III.CA125 showed low sensitivity to detect stage I carcinoma of the ovary which limits its value as an initial screening tool therefore combining of CA125 with other markers might enable improved early detection of ovarian cancer as compared with use of this marker alone

Epithelial ovarian cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths from gynecological malignancies. Angiogenesis is considered essential for tumor growth and the development of metastases. VEGF and IL?8 are potent angiostimulatory molecules and their expression has been demonstrated in many solid tumors, including ovarian cancer.VEGF and IL-8 concentrations were measured by ELISA test (HumanVEGF,IL-8). Bioassay ELISA/ US Biological / USA).The median VEGF and IL-8 levels were significantly higher in the sera of ovarian cancer patients than in those with benign tumors and in healthy controls.Pretreatment VEGF and IL-8 serum levels might be regarded as an additional tool in the differentiation of ovarian tumors

Fringe pattern analysis using a one-dimensional modified Morlet continuous wavelet transform

This paper proposes the use of a modified Morlet wavelet in order to demodulate fringe patterns in conjunction with the one-dimensional continuous wavelet transform (1D-CWT). Our investigations demonstrate that the modified Morlet wavelet produces better results compared to the conventional Morlet wavelet when used in fringe pattern analysis. This novel technique offers superior performance in analysing fringe patterns from objects that exhibit large height variations. This new technique has been used in conjunction with the direct maximum ridge extraction algorithm and an improvement in performance is observed. The algorithm has been tested using both computer-generated and real fringe patterns; and was found to be suitable for fringe pattern demodulation and robust in operation

    Three-dimensional Fourier Fringe Analysis

Over the years two-dimensional Fourier Fringe Analysis (2D-FFA) has demonstrated both its capability and its relative robustness in analysing fringe patterns within a short time-frame from static objects. Nowadays, there is an increasing demand to measure dynamic objects. Today 2D-FFA is seen as a fast and flexible method of processing fringe patterns for dynamic objects. But it is still inherently a 2D approach, i.e. it deals with three-dimensional data (video sequences) on an individual 2D frame-by-frame basis. In this paper, a novel three-dimensional Fourier Fringe Analysis (3D-FFA) algorithm is proposed to demodulate fringe pattern sequences taken from dynamic objects. This technique processes the stack of fringe patterns as a single 3D volume, not as a set of individual 2D frames that are each processed in isolation. The proposed algorithm has been evaluated on both computer simulated and real dynamic objects. Results show that the proposed technique is able to demodulate fringe pattern volumes successfully
