Selection of High Strength Encapsulant for MEMS Devices Undergoing High Pressure Packaging
Deflection behavior of several encapsulant materials under uniform pressure
was studied to determine the best encapsulant for MEMS device. Encapsulation is
needed to protect movable parts of MEMS devices during high pressure transfer
molded packaging process. The selected encapsulant material has to have surface
deflection of less than 5 ?m under 100 atm vertical loading. Deflection was
simulated using CoventorWare ver.2005 software and verified with calculation
results obtained using shell bending theory. Screening design was used to
construct a systematic approach for selecting the best encapsulant material and
thickness under uniform pressure up to 100 atm. Materials considered for this
study were polyimide, parylene C and carbon based epoxy resin. It was observed
that carbon based epoxy resin has deflection of less than 5 ?m for all
thickness and pressure variations. Parylene C is acceptable and polyimide is
unsuitable as high strength encapsulant. Carbon based epoxy resin is considered
the best encapsulation material for MEMS under high pressure packaging process
due to its high strength.Comment: Submitted on behalf of EDA Publishing Association

Karakteristik Status Gizi Dan Hubungannya Dengan Berbagai Faktor Determinan Pada Anak Usia 12-36 Bulan Dari Keluarga Sosio-ekonomi Menengah Ke Atas
NUTRITIONAL STATUS CHARACTERISTICS AND ITS RELATED DETERMINANT FACTORS AMONG HEALTHY CHILDREN AGED 12-36 MONTHS FROM MIDDLE UP SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS.Background: There are very few studies had been carried out among children from middle up socio-economy status, and therefore, the prevalence of malnutrition as well as characteristics of nutritional status of children from middle upper socioeconomic families have not been well reported. Objectives: To describe the nutritional status of children from well being families, and its related determinant factors. Methods: A total of 235 children aged 12-36 months from middle upper socio-economic status in Bogor city, West Java had been studied. The cross-sectional study design was implemented. Data on general characteristics of the families and anthropometric measurements on both the child and the mother were collected by well trained field workers. Results: The study reveals that the average birth weight was 3.2 ± 0.41 kg and birth length was 49.2 ± 1.96 cm. Most mothers (43.2%) breastfed their children until 3 months, 22.0% less than 3 months and the remaining 34,8% above 3 months. Using NCHS standard, underweight was found 6.1%, stunting was 4.2%, and wasting was 2.8%, There were no subjects with Z-score above 2 SD of weight-for-age, length-for-age or weight-for-length, classified as overweight or obese children. There is no association observed between nutritional status and household income, percentage of foods expenditure, and education level of fathers. A positive trend was observed between nutritional status of children and height of mothers A stronger positive trend was also observed for education level of mothers against nutritional status of the children. A significant (P<0.05) association between education of mothers and nutritional status (based on weight for age) of the children was demonstrated in these subjects. Conclusion: Level of education of mothers substantially contributed to nutritional status of children aged 12-36 months
Norma Perkembangan Motor Milestone Anak Sehat Dan Bergizi Baik Dalam Rangka Pengembangan Suatu Rujukan
Norm of Motor Milestone Achievements In Healthy and Well Nourished Children Leading To The Development A Reference. Background: The prevalence of malnutrition is still high in Indonesia, and one of its functional consequences is level of the intelectual capacity of children. Motor development is an essential of cognitive performance, and it is generally believed related with nutritional status of children, however very few studies had been carried out in the field condition.Objectlves: To describe the ceiling of motor milestone achievements of healthy and well nourished children aged 3-18 months in the development of norms for Indonesian children. Methods: The study was conducted in 4 big cities: Surabaya, Malang, Bandung and Bogor in 2100 healthy and well nourished children aged 3-18 months came from high SES (socio-economic status) families who had no constraints on achieving normal growth and development. There were 17 milestones observed by well trainned enumerators following standard procedure. Analysis of percentiles 5, 10, 50, 90, and 95 for age against motor achievement were carried out for all children. Results: The difference in the attainment of the ceiling of motor milestones between males and females were not significant at any points of observation, therefore sex combined norm curve of motor development for children aged 3-18 months was ilustrated. Conclusions: The norm of motor milestone development for Indonesian children aged 3-18 months has been developed. Before being used as a reference, it needs to be evaluated or it is reliability and feasibility
The Status of Tenualosa toli (Valenciennes, 1847) in the Southwest Coast of Sarawak, Malaysias
The tropical shad of genus Tenualosa (family Clupidae) or locally known as Terubok, are important
estuarine fishes, both commercially and culturally in many Asian countries including Malaysia.
However, Tenualosa species are subject to heavy fishing pressure and have suffered major declines.
The decline of Tenualosa toli catch landing since 1980’s had urged the state government of Sarawak
to view with serious concern regarding the problem and directed research and development project to
be conducted for maintaining and replenish the natural stock of the species in Sarawak. Therefore, this
study was designated to examine the current status on the population of Tenualosa toli within Batang
Lupar, Batang Lassa and Batang Saribas in the south-west coast of Sarawak which is known as “core
Terubok areas”. The informations that generated from this research will be useful for further studies
not only on the ecology, distribution of Tenualosa but also on the conservation and sustainable management
of this commercial fish
Early Initiation of Colorectal Cancer Screening in Individuals with Affected First-degree Relatives
BACKGROUND: Several guidelines recommend initiating colorectal cancer screening at age 40 for individuals with affected first-degree relatives, yet little evidence exists describing how often these individuals receive screening procedures. OBJECTIVES: To determine the proportion of individuals in whom early initiation of colorectal cancer screening might be indicated and whether screening disparities exist. DESIGN: Population-based Supplemental Cancer Control Module to the 2000 National Health Interview Survey. PARTICIPANTS: Respondents, 5,564, aged 40 to 49 years were included within the analysis. MEASUREMENTS: Patient self-report of sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, or fecal occult blood test. RESULTS: Overall, 279 respondents (5.4%: 95% C.I., 4.7, 6.2) reported having a first-degree relative affected with colorectal cancer. For individuals with a positive family history, 67 whites (27.9%: 95% C.I., 21.1, 34.5) and 3 African American (9.3%: 95% C.I., 1.7, 37.9) had undergone an endoscopic procedure within the previous 10 years (P-value = .03). After adjusting for age, family history, gender, educational level, insurance status, and usual source of care, whites were more likely to be current with early initiation endoscopic screening recommendations than African Americans (OR = 1.38: 95% C.I., 1.01, 1.87). Having an affected first-degree relative with colorectal cancer appeared to have a stronger impact on endoscopic screening for whites (OR = 3.21: 95% C.I., 2.31, 4.46) than for African Americans (OR = 1.05: 95% C.I., 0.15, 7.21). CONCLUSIONS: White participants with a family history are more likely to have endoscopic procedures beginning before age 50 than African Americans
Octave-wide photonic band gap in three-dimensional plasmonic Bragg structures and limitations of radiative coupling
Radiative coupling between oscillators is one of the most fundamental subjects of research in optics, where particularly a Bragg-type arrangement is of interest and has already been applied to atoms and excitons in quantum wells. Here we explore this arrangement in a plasmonic structure. We observe the emergence of an octave-wide photonic band gap in the optical regime. Compared with atomic or excitonic systems, the coupling efficiency of the particle plasmons utilized here is several orders of magnitude larger and widely tunable by changing the size and geometry of the plasmonic nanowires. We are thus able to explore the regime where the coupling distance is even limited by the large radiative decay rate of the oscillators. This Bragg-stacked coupling scheme will open a new route for future plasmonic applications such as far-field coupling to quantum emitters without quenching, plasmonic cavity structures and plasmonic distributed gain schemes for spasers
