RESEARCH ON THE MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS EFFECT AND SPORT EVENT SATISFACTION OF THE TAIPEI 2017 UNIVERSIADE
The purpose of this study is to investigate the spectatorsâ marketing and public relations and sport event satisfaction with their participation in the Taipei 2017 Universiade. Meanwhile, based on the comparison of different personal background variables, this study compares the attractiveness and satisfaction of the spectatorsâ marketing and public relations recognition, marketing and public relations attitude, event planning and sport event services. A random sampling method is adopted in this study. Among spectators, university students of the Taipei 2017 Universiade are selected. A total of 700 questionnaires are distributed and 680 valid questionnaires are collected. The effective recovery rate is 97.14%. The research tool of this study is âSatisfaction scale of marketing and public relations effect and sport event satisfaction of the Taipei 2017 Universiadeâ. This study uses statistical methods such as descriptive statistics, independent sample t-tests, and so forth. The results of this study are: (1) In the Taipei 2017 Universiade, spectators have the highest attractiveness with âInternetâ in âmedia toolsâ of marketing and public relations recognition, followed by the factor of âTVâ; (2) In âmarketing and public relations attitudeâ of the Taipei 2017 Universiade, âmarketing and public relations present efforts and earnest of Taiwanâ ranks the highest, followed by âmarketing and public relations are impressedâ; (3) In âsport event servicesâ of the Taipei 2017 Universiade, âauditoriumâ ranks the highest, followed by âbroadcast notificationâ; (4) There is no significant difference in the attractiveness and satisfaction among spectators with different personal background for âmarketing and public relations recognitionâ, âmarketing and public relations attitudeâ, and âsport event servicesâ in the Taipei 2017 Universiade. Article visualizations
MonoNeuralFusion: Online Monocular Neural 3D Reconstruction with Geometric Priors
High-fidelity 3D scene reconstruction from monocular videos continues to be
challenging, especially for complete and fine-grained geometry reconstruction.
The previous 3D reconstruction approaches with neural implicit representations
have shown a promising ability for complete scene reconstruction, while their
results are often over-smooth and lack enough geometric details. This paper
introduces a novel neural implicit scene representation with volume rendering
for high-fidelity online 3D scene reconstruction from monocular videos. For
fine-grained reconstruction, our key insight is to incorporate geometric priors
into both the neural implicit scene representation and neural volume rendering,
thus leading to an effective geometry learning mechanism based on volume
rendering optimization. Benefiting from this, we present MonoNeuralFusion to
perform the online neural 3D reconstruction from monocular videos, by which the
3D scene geometry is efficiently generated and optimized during the on-the-fly
3D monocular scanning. The extensive comparisons with state-of-the-art
approaches show that our MonoNeuralFusion consistently generates much better
complete and fine-grained reconstruction results, both quantitatively and

Elevated circulating level of P2X7 receptor is related to severity of coronary artery stenosis and prognosis of acute myocardial infarction
Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a severely life-threatening cardiovascular disease. Previous research has identified an association between the P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) and the development of atherosclerosis. However, the correlation of its expression with the clinical prognosis of patients with AMI remains unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the potential role of P2X7R in Chinese patients with AMI.
Methods: Seventy-nine patients with AMI and 48 controls were consecutively enrolled in this prospective observational study. Circulating P2X7R mRNA expression levels and other clinical variables were determined upon admission to the hospital. Patients were followed up for 360 days, and the end-point was considered as the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).
Results: Circulating P2X7R mRNA expression level in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of patients with AMI were significantly higher than those in controls and had promising diagnostic ability of AMI with an area under the curve of 0.928. Furthermore, P2X7R was demonstrated to be correlated positively with the severity of coronary artery stenosis. Additionally, this is the first study to indicate that higher P2X7R mRNA expression is associated with a higher rate of MACE within 360 days after AMI.
Conclusions: The present study showed that the circulating level of P2X7R was elevated in AMI patients and was closely associated with the severity of coronary artery stenosis and prognosis of AMI
Assessing Computational Amino Acid β-Turn Propensities with a Phage-Displayed Combinatorial Library and Directed Evolution
SummaryStructure propensities of amino acids are important determinants in guiding proteins' local and global structure formation. We constructed a phage display libraryâa hexa-HIS tag upstream of a CXXC (X stands for any of the 20 natural amino acids) motif appending N-terminal to the minor capsid protein pIII of M13KE filamentous phageâand developed a novel directed-evolution procedure to select for amino acid sequences forming increasingly stable β-turns in the disulfide-bridged CXXC motif. The sequences that emerged from the directed-evolution cycles were in good agreement with type II β-turn propensities derived from surveys of known protein structures, in particular, Pro-Gly forming a type II β-turn. The agreement strongly supported the notion that β-turn formation plays an active role in initiating local structure folding in proteins
Automatic key term extraction from spoken course lectures using branching entropy and prosodic/semantic features
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a set of approaches to automatically extract key terms from spoken course lectures including audio signals, ASR transcriptions and slides. We divide the key terms into two types: key phrases and keywords and develop different approaches to extract them in order. We extract key phrases using right/left branching entropy and extract keywords by learning from three sets of features: prosodic features, lexical features and semantic features from Probabilistic Latent Semantic Analysis (PLSA). The learning approaches include an unsupervised method (K-means exemplar) and two supervised ones (AdaBoost and neural network). Very encouraging preliminary results were obtained with a corpus of course lectures, and it is found that all approaches and all sets of features proposed here are useful
Curcumin reduces expression of Bcl-2, leading to apoptosis in daunorubicin-insensitive CD34+ acute myeloid leukemia cell lines and primary sorted CD34+ acute myeloid leukemia cells
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an immunophenotypically heterogenous malignant disease, in which CD34 positivity is associated with poor prognosis. CD34<sup>+ </sup>AML cells are 10-15-fold more resistant to daunorubicin (DNR) than CD34<sup>- </sup>AML cells. Curcumin is a major component of turmeric that has shown cytotoxic activity in multiple cancers; however, its anti-cancer activity has not been well studied in DNR-insensitive CD34<sup>+ </sup>AML cells. The aim of this study was to therefore to explore curcumin-induced cytotoxicity in DNR-insensitive CD34<sup>+ </sup>AML cell lines (KG1a, Kasumi-1), DNR-sensitive U937 AML cells, and primary CD34<sup>+ </sup>AML bone-marrow-derived cells.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Primary human CD34<sup>+ </sup>cells were isolated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells or bone marrow mononuclear cells using a CD34 MicroBead kit. The growth inhibitory effects of curcumin were evaluated by MTT and colony-formation assays. Cell cycle distribution was examined by propidium iodide (PI) assay. Apoptosis was analyzed by Wright-Giemsa, Hoechst 33342 and Annexin-V/PI staining assays. The change in mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) was examined by JC-1 staining and flow cytometry. Expression of apoptosis-related proteins was determined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting. Short interfering RNA (siRNA) against <it>Bcl-2 </it>was used in CD34<sup>+ </sup>KG1a and Kasumi-1 cells incubated with/without DNR.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Curcumin inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis and G1/S arrest in both DNR-insensitive KG1a, Kasumi-1 and DNR-sensitive U937 cells. Curcumin-induced apoptosis was associated with reduced expression of both Bcl-2 mRNA and protein, subsequent loss of MMP, and activation of caspase-3 followed by PARP degradation. Curcumin synergistically enhanced the cytotoxic effect of DNR in DNR-insensitive KG1a and Kasumi-1 cells, consistent with decreased Bcl-2 expression. Accordingly, siRNA against <it>Bcl-2 </it>increased the susceptibility of KG1a and Kasumi-1 cells to DNR-induced apoptosis. More importantly, curcumin suppressed Bcl-2 expression, selectively inhibited proliferation and synergistically enhanced the cytotoxicity of DNR in primary CD34<sup>+ </sup>AML cells, while showing limited lethality in normal CD34<sup>+ </sup>hematopoietic progenitors.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Curcumin down-regulates Bcl-2 and induces apoptosis in DNR-insensitive CD34<sup>+ </sup>AML cell lines and primary CD34<sup>+ </sup>AML cells.</p
Paeoniae alba Radix Promotes Peripheral Nerve Regeneration
The present study provides in vitro and in vivo evaluation of Paeoniae alba Radix (PR) on peripheral nerve regeneration. In the in vitro study, we found the PR caused a marked enhancement of the nerve growth factor-mediated neurite outgrowth from PC12 cells as well as their expression of growth associated protein 43 and synapsin I. In the in vivo study, silicone rubber chambers filled with the PR water extract were used to bridge a 10-mm sciatic nerve defect in rats. At the conclusion of 8 weeks, regenerated nerves in the PR groups, especially at 1.25âmgâmlâ1 had a higher rate of successful regeneration across the wide gap, relatively larger mean values of total nerve area, myelinated axon count and blood vessel number, and a significantly larger nerve conductive velocity compared to the control group (Pâ < â.05). These results suggest that the PR extract can be a potential nerve growth-promoting factor, being salutary in aiding the growth of injured peripheral nerve
Growth mechanism and magnon excitation in NiO nanowalls
The nanosized effects of short-range multimagnon excitation behavior and short-circuit diffusion in NiO nanowalls synthesized using the Ni grid thermal treatment method were observed. The energy dispersive spectroscopy mapping technique was used to characterize the growth mechanism, and confocal Raman scattering was used to probe the antiferromagnetic exchange energy J2 between next-nearest-neighboring Ni ions in NiO nanowalls at various growth temperatures below the Neel temperature. This study shows that short spin correlation leads to an exponential dependence of the growth temperatures and the existence of nickel vacancies during the magnon excitation. Four-magnon configurations were determined from the scattering factor, revealing a lowest state and monotonic change with the growth temperature
