Selection Determinants In Education Major Graduates Occupations
Taiwan’s teacher training system currently faces a serious disorder. The excessive number of teacher education programs being set up in universities by the Ministry of Education has dramatically increased the number of teachers. The situation, coupled with the country of low birth rate and high retirement age, brings about fewer teaching vacancies than the number of available teachers. The over-expansion of universities has resulted in a situation that almost every secondary school graduate can access higher education institutions, which subsequently produce a great number of graduates, far exceeding the vacancies in the workplace. This plus with the recent economic recession intensifies competition among individuals hunting for jobs. Thus, it is imperative to identify the ideal jobs for graduates, and the first step is figuring out the main determinants for selecting jobs and the relative importance of these determinants. A self-developed questionnaire was administered to 200 education major graduates in Taiwan. The result indicated that high job stability was perceived to be the most important factor among participants. Also, the education students considered school teacher or administrator to be the ideal jobs

Epigenetic Regulation of Hematopoiesis in Zebrafish
The initiation of the hematopoietic program is orchestrated by key transcription factors that recruit chromatin regulators in order to activate or inhibit blood target gene expression. To generate a complete compendium of chromatin factors that establish the genetic code during developmental hematopoiesis, we conducted a large-scale reverse genetic screen targeting 425 chromatin factors in zebrafish and identified over 30 novel chromatin regulators that function at distinct steps of embryonic hematopoiesis. In vertebrates, developmental hematopoiesis occurs in two waves. During the first and primitive wave, mainly erythrocytes are produced, and we identified at least 15 chromatin factors that decrease or increase formation of , , and erythroid progenitors. In the definitive wave, HSCs capable of self-renewal and differentiation into multiple lineages are induced, and we identified at least 18 chromatin factors that decrease or increase the formation of and stem and progenitor cells in the aorta gonad mesonephros (AGM) region, without disruption of vascular development. The majority of the chromatin factors identified from the screen are involved in histone acetylation, histone methylation, and nucleosome remodeling, the same modifications that are hypothesized to have the most functional impact on the transcriptional status of a gene. Moreover, these factors can be mapped to subunits of chromatin complexes that modify these marks, such as HBO/HAT, HDAC/NuRD, SET1A/MLL, ISWI, and SWI/SNF. One of the strongest phenotypes identified from the screen came from knockdown of chromodomain helicase DNA binding domain 7 (chd7). Morpholino knockdown of chd7 resulted in increased primitive and definitive blood production from the induction of stem and progenitor cells to the differentiation of myeloid and erythroid lineages. This expansion of the blood lineage is cell autonomous as determined by blastula transplantation experiments. Though chromatin factors are believed to function broadly and are often expressed ubiquitously, the combined results of the screen and chd7 analysis show that individual factors have very tissue specific functions. These studies implicate chromatin factors as playing a major role in establishing the programs of gene expression for self-renewal and differentiation of hematopoietic cells
Parental bonding in males with adjustment disorder and hyperventilation syndrome
BACKGROUND: The purpose of the study was to identify the style of parental bonding and the personality characteristics that might increase the risk of hyperventilation and adjustment disorder. METHODS: A total of 917 males were recruited, 156 with adjustment disorder and hyperventilation syndrome (AD + HY), 273 with adjustment disorder without hyperventilation syndrome (AD–HY), and 488 healthy controls. All participants completed the Parental Bonding Instrument, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, and Chinese Health Questionnaire. RESULTS: Analysis using structural equation models identified a pathway relationship in which parental bonding affected personality characteristics, personality characteristics affected mental health condition, and mental health condition affected the development of hyperventilation or adjustment disorder. Males with AD–HY perceived less paternal care, and those with AD + HY perceived more maternal protection than those with adjustment disorder and those in the control group. Participants with AD–HY were more neurotic and less extroverted than those with AD + HY. Both groups showed poorer mental health than the controls. CONCLUSIONS: Although some patients with hyperventilation syndrome demonstrated symptoms of adjustment disorder, there were different predisposing factors between the two groups in terms of parental bonding and personality characteristics. This finding is important for the early intervention and prevention of hyperventilation and adjustment disorder
Enhancing The Quality Of University Career Services In Taiwan: Perceptions Of University Alumni
An adequate supply of a high quality labor force is crucial for national economic and social well-being; consequently, nations worldwide have placed significant emphasis on university graduate employability. Nonetheless, in Taiwan, a mismatch between knowledge acquired in universities and competences required by the job market has dramatically encumbered the supply of a high quality labor force. Thus, this research endeavored to determine the major career services that should be offered in higher educational institutions to alleviate the aforementioned human resource problems.The analytic hierarchy process was adopted as the major instrument for calculating the relative importance of each career service task, and 169 university alumni working in four major career fields participated in this research. The results indicated that participants from different career fields and who graduated from different colleges at different times have very different opinions of job service requests; therefore, universities should seriously consider the differences among students and provide the necessary services for each student in line with his/her particular requests. Moreover, although almost all participants agreed that sharpening students’ job-search and interview skills was crucial in assisting students to find their first jobs, this service was extremely insufficient in universities, and universities thus have to place particular emphasis on this task in the future
Primary Pulmonary Synovial Sarcoma: A Case Report
We report a rare case of primary synovial sarcoma of the lung. A 57-year-old man had a well-defined tumor in the right middle lobe seen on chest computed tomography, and underwent lobectomy. Grossly, the nonencapsulated tumor measured 4.5 cm in greatest diameter, with a solid and tan-white cut surface. Histologically, the tumor was mainly composed of a dense proliferation of spindle cells. Immunohistochemical studies were focally positive for epithelial membrane antigen, and diffusely positive for CD99 and Bcl-2. Cytokeratin, S-100 protein, desmin, smooth muscle actin, and CD34 were absent. SYT-SSX1 gene fusion transcript was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, which is diagnostic of primary synovial sarcoma of the lung. Text-driven Visual Synthesis with Latent Diffusion Prior
There has been tremendous progress in large-scale text-to-image synthesis
driven by diffusion models enabling versatile downstream applications such as
3D object synthesis from texts, image editing, and customized generation. We
present a generic approach using latent diffusion models as powerful image
priors for various visual synthesis tasks. Existing methods that utilize such
priors fail to use these models' full capabilities. To improve this, our core
ideas are 1) a feature matching loss between features from different layers of
the decoder to provide detailed guidance and 2) a KL divergence loss to
regularize the predicted latent features and stabilize the training. We
demonstrate the efficacy of our approach on three different applications,
text-to-3D, StyleGAN adaptation, and layered image editing. Extensive results

Counting Crowds in Bad Weather
Crowd counting has recently attracted significant attention in the field of
computer vision due to its wide applications to image understanding. Numerous
methods have been proposed and achieved state-of-the-art performance for
real-world tasks. However, existing approaches do not perform well under
adverse weather such as haze, rain, and snow since the visual appearances of
crowds in such scenes are drastically different from those images in clear
weather of typical datasets. In this paper, we propose a method for robust
crowd counting in adverse weather scenarios. Instead of using a two-stage
approach that involves image restoration and crowd counting modules, our model
learns effective features and adaptive queries to account for large appearance
variations. With these weather queries, the proposed model can learn the
weather information according to the degradation of the input image and
optimize with the crowd counting module simultaneously. Experimental results
show that the proposed algorithm is effective in counting crowds under
different weather types on benchmark datasets. The source code and trained
