    Extracts from Proceedings of the Meeting of the Common Councils of the City of Holland held June 11th A.D. 1869. The city will commit $16,000 to the railroad project; bonds will be issued; by a vote of 105 to 0 in the first ward and 129 to 1 in the second ward, a large majority favored this action. On motion of Alderman Van Schelven, 2nd by Alderman Van der Veen, and duly carried by an unanimous vote, it was Resolved, That the City of Holland do hereby grant and give the aid to said Railroad, in the manner and to the amount, specified in the request and notice calling for such Election.https://digitalcommons.hope.edu/vrp_1860s/1507/thumbnail.jp
