Functional exploration of chronic pancreatitis by duodenal intubation. Comparative study of the Lundh meal and duodenal hormones based on a survey of literature. Secretin-caerulein test carried out by the authors. Prospective conclusions

The authors have recalled in a survey of the literature what we known of the Lundh test and the hormonal test in the study of chronic pancreatitis. They report their observations concerning the use of sub maximal stimulation of the pancreas with a secretin and caerulein perfusion. They discuss the respective advantages and disadvantages of these two methods as well as their direction in the study of chronic pancreatitis. They propose, as a prospective aim, a simplified test of sub maximal stimulation of the pancreas. Will this test at least allow one to solve one of the most important problems regarding pancreatic diseases, namely the assessment of the importance of minor degrees of pancreatic malfunction in patients with an otherwise unexplained abdominal pain? The future will decide.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
