A membrán-szeparáció kutatása a Folyamatmérnöki Intézetben
Membrane separation processes have been widely developed in the last decades. In our work was focused on the main properties and configuration of the different membrane operations, and the theoretical background of membrane transport phenomena. Furthermore, experimental results of the Department of Process Engineering of the University of Szeged was summarized related to investigation of membrane processes in combination with different pre- and post-treatments for food technology applications, food industry byproducts and waste utilization
Applicability of dielectric measurement in wastewater sludge treatments
Our research work focused on the applicability of dielectric measurement methods in wastewater-sludge treatment processes. On the one hand, we wanted to investigate how the soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) - a key characteristic in sewage sludge utilization - changes due to the different sludge pre-treatment processes, and whether these changes are in connection with the dielectric behaviour of the material matrix. In addition, we also investigated whether the anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge, as a bio-energy production method can be monitored by measuring certain dielectric properties. The experimental results revealed that there is a strong correlation between the change in SCOD of different types of wastewater sludge that occurs due to the applied pre-treatment methods and the dielectric constant (at f=450 MHz frequency), and we also found connection between the nascent biogas yield and the dielectric behaviour of the fermentation medium
Factorial design analysis of phosphate removal from model solution by iron-loaded pomegranate peel
This study investigated the removal of phosphate (PO4 3- ) from disodium hydrogen phosphate (Na2HPO4) solution using Iron-loaded pomegranate peel (IL-PP) as a bio-adsorbent. The full factorial design using Minitab19 software was applied to analyze the effects of influencing parameters and their interactions and derive the equation that adequately describe PO4 3- removal by IL-PP. Effective PO4 3- removal up to 90% was achieved within 60 min, at pH 9 and 25 °C temperature using a 150 mg dose of IL-PP
