Revisiting the Approaches for Exploring Students’ Drive in Japanese Studies

    Get PDF
Japanese Studies undergraduate programs offer students an engaging curriculum that provides a deep understanding of the Japanese language and culture. A degree in Japanese Studies equips students with valuable skills that are relevant in various fields, making it a popular choice worldwide. College students’ motivation is a critical factor in academic success and has been extensively studied in education. The paper aims to review the existing theories related to study motivation, language acquisition, study abroad drives, and motivation, then to consider the approaches and details that we could prioritize for investigating the motivations and drives of students majoring and minoring in Japanese Studies in universities

Potential relationship of internal control, internal audit and risk management in company – the case study of Vingroup in Vietnam

There is interaction and relationship among internal control activities, internal audit and risk management in the firm, we conduct this study to address these functions in a case study of Vingroup in real estate industry in Vietnam , esp. We would like to mention potential relationship between these activities in companies and in this specific case. Authors mainly use experience and advice from experts, together with quantitative methods (statistics, calculation formulas) and qualitative methods including synthesis, inductive and explanatory methods.  Our study results show that. And because CPI, G has negative relation with ROE while Rf has positive relation with ROE, macro policies can help to control inflation and GDP growth not increasing much to be in favor of ROE of Vingroup and toward benefits for managing risk. Finally, through analysis and synthesis, we will give suggestions for better internal control mechanism, internal audit and risk management functions in companies as well as in a specific case of Vingroup

Impacts of internal cost and revenue elements on accounting profit via ols regression model - a case in Vietnam

This study is conducted based on a real case study - AGIFISH company (AGF) in An Giang province, Vietnam, which use OLS regression model to measure impacts from internal cost factors (COGS, sale cost, admin expense) on accounting net profit of the firm. Authors mainly use combination of quantitative methods (statistics, calculation formulas) and qualitative methods including synthesis, inductive and explanatory methods, combined with dialectical materialism method.  Our study findings show us that Cost-income ratio has negative relationship with accounting net profit whereas COGS and sale cost have negative correlation with net profit. Besides, this study also give out recommendations for enhancing management accounting policies in the company. For instance AGF management need to control COGS better and reduce COGS/income ratio to increase accounting net profit. Our limitation of research is that we can expand researches to further industries and markets

Investigating and implementing a student vocational education model for educational innovation

    Get PDF
The development of each student's awareness serves as the governing principle for high school vocational education programs. This awareness then becomes the driving force behind the progression of the educational process. Career education activities for students are the relationships between the objectives, contents, methods and forms of organization of educational activities that are directly and constantly influenced by the educational environment. Student career education activities are the relationships between these aspects of educational activities as determined by research into the programs, textbooks, systematization and theoretical analysis of these activities. This investigation focuses on the following areas: (1) Developing preschool and high school teachers in the province of Dong Thap to meet the criteria of the new educational program (2) Developing models of applying local educational material for students in the province of Dong Thap. Both of these initiatives are part of the Dong Thap Educational Development Project. Findings: Assess the current state of activities for students in the province of Dong Thap that are related to vocational education between 2018- 2021. Develop a model for carrying out activities for students participating in vocational education in the province of Dong Thap to fulfill educational innovation requirements

An efficient approach to measure the difficulty degree of practical programming exercises based on student performances

    Get PDF
oai:ojs.www.rev-jec.org:article/282This study examines the generality of easy to hard practice questions in programming subjects. One of the most important contributions is to propose four new formulas for determining the difficulty degree of questions. These formulas aim to describe different aspects of difficulty degree from the learner's perspective instead of the instructor's subjective opinions. Then, we used clustering technique to group the questions into three easy, medium and difficult degrees. The results will be the baseline to consider the generality of the exercise sets according to each topic. The proposed solution is then tested on the data set that includes the results of the two subjects: Programming Fundamentals, Data Structures and Algorithms from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The most important result is to suggest the instructors complete various degrees according to each topic for better evaluating student's performance

Clustering lifestyle risk behaviors among Vietnamese adolescents and roles of school : a Bayesian multilevel analysis of global school-based student health survey 2019

Background: Adolescence is a vulnerable period for many lifestyle risk behaviors. In this study, we aimed to 1) examine a clustering pattern of lifestyle risk behaviors; 2) investigate roles of the school health promotion programs on this pattern among adolescents in Vietnam. Methods: We analyzed data of 7,541 adolescents aged 13–17 years from the 2019 nationally representative Global School-based Student Health Survey, conducted in 20 provinces and cities in Vietnam. We applied the latent class analysis to identify groups of clustering and used Bayesian 2-level logistic regressions to evaluate the correlation of school health promotion programs on these clusters. We reassessed the school effect size by incorporating different informative priors to the Bayesian models. Findings: The most frequent lifestyle risk behavior among Vietnamese adolescents was physical inactivity, followed by unhealthy diet, and sedentary behavior. Most of students had a cluster of at least two risk factors and nearly a half with at least three risk factors. Latent class analysis detected 23% males and 18% females being at higher risk of lifestyle behaviors. Consistent through different priors, high quality of health promotion programs associated with lower the odds of lifestyle risk behaviors (highest quality schools vs. lowest quality schools; males: Odds ratio (OR) = 0·67, 95% Highest Density Interval (HDI): 0·46 – 0·93; females: OR = 0·69, 95% HDI: 0·47 – 0·98). Interpretation: Our findings demonstrated the clustering of specific lifestyle risk behaviors among Vietnamese in-school adolescents. School-based interventions separated for males and females might reduce multiple health risk behaviors in adolescence. Funding: The 2019 Global School-based Student Health Survey was conducted with financial support from the World Health Organization. The authors received no funding for the data analysis, data interpretation, manuscript writing, authorship, and/or publication of this article. © 2021 The Author(s
