Dilaton in Two-Time Physics as trigger of electroweak phase transition and inflation

Within the SP(2, R) symmetry, the Two-time model (2T model) has six dimension with two time dimensions. The model has a dilaton particle that makes the symmetry breaking differently from the Standard Model. By reducing the 2T metric to the Minkowski one (1T metric), we consider the electroweak phase transition picture in the 2T model with the dilaton as the trigger. Our analysis shows that Electro-weak Phase Transition (EWPT) is a first-order phase transition at the 200200 GeV scale, its strength is about 13.081 - 3.08 and the mass of dilaton is in interval [345,625][345, 625] GeV. Furthermore, the metric of 2T model can be reduced to the Randall-Sundrum model, so the dilaton acts as inflaton with the slow-roll approximation. Therefore the 2T-model indirectly suggests that extra-dimension can be also a source of EWPT and inflation. The EWPT problem can be used to determine scale parameters that refer to relationships between two metrics.Comment: 25 pages, 2 figure

FPGA Implementation of Channel Mismatch Calibration in TIADCs for Signals in Any Nyquist Bands

    Get PDF
This paper presents a fully digital background calibration technique of the gain and timing mismatches in undersampling Time-Interleaved Analog-to-Digital Converters for the wideband bandlimited input signal at any Nyquist bands. The proposed technique does not require an additional reference channel nor a pilot input. The channel mismatch parameters are estimated based on the mismatch frequency band. The experimental results shows the efficiency of the proposed mitigation technique with the SNDR improvement of 16dB for 4-channel 60dB SNR TIADC clocked at 2.7GHz given a multi-tone input occupied at the third Nyquist band. The hardware architecture of the proposed technique is designed and validated on Altera FPGA DE4 board. The synthesized design utilizes a very little amount of the hardware resource in the FPGA chip and works correctly on a Hardware-In-the-Loop emulation framework

Transfer AdaBoost SVM for Link Prediction in Newly Signed Social Networks using Explicit and PNR Features

AbstractIn signed social network, the user-generated content and interactions have overtaken the web. Questions of whom and what to trust has become increasingly important. We must have methods which predict the signs of links in the social network to solve this problem. We study signed social networks with positive links (friendship, fan, like, etc) and negative links (opposition, anti-fan, dislike, etc). Specifically, we focus how to effectively predict positive and negative links in newly signed social networks. With SVM model, the small amount of edge sign information in newly signed network is not adequate to train a good classifier. In this paper, we introduce an effective solution to this problem. We present a novel transfer learning framework is called Transfer AdaBoost with SVM (TAS) which extends boosting-based learning algorithms and incorporates properly designed RBFSVM (SVM with the RBF kernel) component classifiers. With our framework, we use explicit topological features and Positive Negative Ratio (PNR) features which are based on decision-making theory. Experimental results on three networks (Epinions, Slashdot and Wiki) demonstrate our method that can improve the prediction accuracy by 40% over baseline methods. Additionally, our method has faster performance time

Datasets of land use change and flood dynamics in the vietnamese mekong delta

This paper compiles the data associated with a research article published in STOTEN [1]. The data set represents figures, tables, and images illustrating the temporal and spatial distribution of land use and flood dynamics from 2000 to 2020 in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta (VMD). The MODIS imageries were freely accessed online via the NASA website [2] and processed to land use and flood maps based on the algorithms by Sakamoto et al. [3,4]. The MODIS products show a high validation with statistical data and radar satellites [1]. The datasets of flood map and land use, therefore, are available to scientists, engineers, and policy-makers in agricultural management associated with flood management in the VMD. They could be used for policy settings, household livelihood assessment as well as other economic analyses for the VMD region due to the change of land use and flooding dynamics
