The Effect of Physical Activity on Lymphocyte Count in Smokers Who Consume Black Cumin Seed (Nigella Sativa L.) Oil
Twenty percent of the total number of human leukocytes is lymphocytes. Lymphocytes are responsible for the control of the adaptive immune system. Physical activity is any body movement that requires energy to do it. Physical activity is related to changes in a person's immunity so that it can reduce the risks of diseases such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and stroke. Black Cumin Seed Oil (BCSO) in various studies has been widely used as a supplement, especially as an immune-modulator. The purpose of this study is to see the effect of physical activity on lymphocyte levels in smokers who have been given Black Cumin Seed Oil for 30 days. This study used a single-blind Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) method, with a total of 36 test subjects divided into four groups. Group 1 received placebo 3x1 capsules/day, group 2 received BCSO 3x1 capsules/day, group 3 received BCSO 3x2 capsules/day, and group 4 received BCSO 3x3 capsules/day. The intervention was carried out for 30 days, then on the 31st-day blood was drawn for analysis. Data analysis using an independent t-test to see the average group with high and low activity, while to see the average lymphocyte between treatment groups using one way ANOVA test. The test results were said to be significant if p <0.05. The p-value of the independent t-test is 0.045, and one way ANOVA test p-value is 0.343. In conclusion, physical activity can increase lymphocyte levels significantly, but not on BCSO administration
Pengaruh Kecukupan Modal (CAR), Pengelolaan Kredit (NPL), Dan Likuiditas Bank (LDR) Terhadap Probabilitas Kebangkrutan Bank (Studi Pada Bank Umum Swasta Devisa Yang Tercatat Di BEI Tahun 2009 – 2013)
The purpose of this research is to provide empirical evidence about using bank financial ratio to predict bank bankruptcy. The variables which used are seven financial ratios, CAR (capital adequacy ratio), NPL (non performing loan), and LDR (loan to deposit ratio). The statistic methods which is used to test on the research hypothesis is logit regression. The sample of this research was extracted using purposive sampling method, comprising 7 banks taken from BEI for the period of 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013. From sample, there are 7 banks, consist of 4 nontrouble banks and 3 trouble banks. The resulst of this research show that CAR and NPL, have no significant effect on probability of banks's financial distress. LDR have significant influences on probability of banks's financial distress
Intervensi Psikologis Pada Pendidikan Anak Dengan Keterlambatan Bicara
As the ability to ride a bike, speech is a child's ability to learn. The more frequent practice, these abilities will be more perfect. Many factors affect the process of learning or practice speaking. Among others is the maturity or physical and mental readiness, a good model to be emulated, the motivation they need, the opportunities provided by the environment, and the existence guidance of significant others. Then, how to help children who have spent time to learn speech and due to several factors as mentioned above, have experienced delays in speech?. Excavation data about the causes of overdue talking to children, followed by the deepening problems in a mature, will find the steps that can be taken to help overdue talking children in speech
A REVIEW OF THE BIOLOGY OF RAFFLESIA: WHAT DO WE KNOW AND WHAT’S NEXT?
A literature review was conducted to summarize information, particularly recently published, on the biology of Rafflesia. By far most of the recent papers on Rafflesia have named new species. Since 2002, ten species have been discovered in the Philippines compared to three species in Indonesia. Recent work also has explored phylogenetics (e.g. evolutionary history of the genus and of floral gigantism, horizontal transfer of genes and loss of the chloroplast genome) and anatomy (e.g. endophyte, flower development); other recent studies have focused on biochemistry. Unfortunately, we still know very little about the life cycle, biology and ecological relations of Rafflesia. Much of what we know comes from observations and not from experimental evidence. Population declines have been noted which are sometimes related to habitat destruction or natural disturbances but other times the cause(s) are unknown. Questions remain unanswered on its reproductive biology and on its population genetic structure and diversity. With changing climates, we vitally need long-term population studies in relation to environmental parameters
Traffic Accident Risk Analysis by Knowledge, the Use of Traffic Lane, and Speed
Traffic accidents are a health problem in both developed and developing countries including Indonesia. Number of traffic accidents each year has increased and traffic accidents in Indonesia is considered by WHO as the third biggest killer after coronary heart disease and tuberculosis. Most traffic accidents involving motorcyclists and the current junior high school students are also involved as a perpetrator of the accident. This study was conducted to determine the relationship of knowledge, the use of traffic lane and the driving speed with the incidence of traffic accidents in junior high school students motorcyclists. Type of research is analytic observational cross-sectional study design. The study population was all junior high school students in Wonokromo Surabaya in 2015. The number of respondents in this study of 100 respondents drawn from the population by using two stage cluster random sampling. The variables studied were knowledge, the use of traffic lane and the driving speed. Results of analysis using chi square test (α = 5%) indicate that knowledge (p = 0,027; RR = 1,966), the use of traffic lane (p = 0,005; RR = 1,894) and the driving speed (p = 0,017; RR = 1,941) has a significantly relationship to the incidence of traffic accidents to junior high school students motorcyclists in Wonokromo sub-district Surabaya 2015. Especially under age children of junior high school student are encouraged to not ride a motorcycle before age sufficient and have a driver's licence. Beside that, the role of parents to prevent underage motorcyclists is needed to support the efforts of the police and schools in minimizing the number of accident to reduce the number of junir high school student involved in a motorcycle accident
Pemanfaatan Abu Boiler Kelapa Sawit terhadap Pertumbuhan Tajuk Tanaman Tomat
The purpose of this research is gaining influence boiler ash on growth and yield of tomatoes, (4) obtain optimal dosing of boiler ash is curuently applied to some media. This research was conducted at Jl. Manjuhan Palangkaraya. The time of this study will last for 4 months This study uses a completely randomized design factorial 2 factors. The first factor is the dose Abu boiler with a 5 stage treotment (without ash, 5 ton.ha-1, l0 ton ha-1, 15 ton.ha-1 and 20 ton.ha-1 . The second factor is the type of media with 3 levels of treatment (Soil sand, soil Podsolid and Peat. The treatment combinotion obtained as-mony as 15 combinations of treatment, with a repeat 3 times. The survey results reveoled that (1) the interaction of growth media and boiler ash dose showed significantly different results against 2,4 dan 6-wieks after planting variables plant height, amount of leaves on the age, 2, 4 and 6 weeks after, plantig, stem diameter at 4 weeks afier planting, and shoot dry weight lastest research. Treatment combination boiler ash 15 ton / ha and peat media (treatment b4t3) provide significant variahles plant height, leaf amount, diameter of stock, and shoot dry weight
