CURRENT TECHNOLOGIES APPLIED TO URBAN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The present work organizes information in a systematized way, on environmental technologies applied to each of the tasks and activities that are performed in the cities, urban planning and development. These technologies are an updated part of all the technologies that can be applied, therefore, it is the state-of-the-art of new technologies applied to urban sustainable development which mostly are processes, instruments of measurement, simulators, equipment, materials, Software and Hardware that are of great help for urbanism designers and promoters of urbanism in the cities development. These technologies, which are described in the present article, have been selected on the basis of their up-to-dateness and application in the main sectors or fields of development and it is important to mention that only the most recent and influential on urban development and environmental technology have been chosen. The main objective is to provide an overview of the state-of-the art of these environmental technologies, and how we, designers, architects and promoters of urban development, can apply and use a number of technologies in urban planning with an environmental approach.sustainable urbanism, new technologies, development, tools.

INTEGRATION OF SERVICE LIFE IN THE PROCESS OF MANAGEMENT AND DESIGN OF BUILDINGS

This article approaches the regulatory framework on the service life of constructed assets and its integration into the management and design process of sustainable buildings. The importance of this study is to be found on the fact that currently, most of the building designers do not apply the integration and planning of service life into the process of management and design of constructions. Because of this, ISO (International Standard Organization) regulations are approached; said regulations are referred to the planning of service life of buildings, explaining and describing their relevance in the process of design. Basic principles of the sustainable planning, derived from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® method in the United States and Canada, are presented as well as the relation with the aforementioned International Standard Organization regulations on the service life of buildings, specifically that of ISO 15686.Design process, Regulations, Service life, Sustainable building, Sustainable management.

In the title formyl nitro aryl benzoate derivative, CH NO, the benzene rings form a dihedral angle of 4.96(3)°. The mean plane of the central ester group, C-O-C-(=O)-C (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0484Å), is twisted away from the formyl nitro aryl and benzoate rings by 46.61(5) and 49.93(5)°, respectively. In the crystal, the molecules are packed forming C-H⋯O interactions in chains which propagate along [010]. Edge-fused R 3(15) rings are generated along this direction

The self organizing map of neighbour stars and its kinematical interpretation

The Self-Organizing Map (SOM) is a neural network algorithm that has the special property ofcreating spatially organized tepresetüatioes of various features of input signals. The resulting maps resemble realneural structures found in the cortices of developed animal brains.: Also, the SOM. has been successful in various pattern recognition tasks involving noisy signals, as for instance, speech recognition and for this reason we are studying its application to some astronomical problems. In this paper w~ present the 2-D mapping and subsequerít study of one local sample of 12000 stars using SOM. The available attributes are 14: 3-D position and velocitiesvphotometric indexes, spectral type and luminosity class. The possible location of halo, thick disk and thin disk stars is discussed. INDICATORS OF URBAN SUSTAINABILITY IN MEXICO

The principal objective of this project is to summarize the characteristics that define urban sustainability in Mexican cities; its basic principles and the advantages of their application in the development of future cities, as well as the description of the indicators of urban sustainability that directly affect the development of communities, from households, colonies or neighbourhoods to cities or regions. El artículo indaga en las relaciones entre transcripción e intuición en el trabajo del arquitecto. La interpretación de Oíza sobre la definición de arquitectura dada por Le Corbusier muestra la mediación como forma evidente de relación entre los términos propuestos. Este mediar se convierte así en la misión principal del arquitecto. La consideración de dos ejemplos de viviendas desarrolladas tempranamente por Le Corbusier muestra esta aproximación como un alegato en defensa del papel del arquitecto. La actualidad de este acercamiento permite transponerlo al análisis de obras contemporáneas, como la Maison à Bordeaux de Rem Koolhaas. La diferente consideración por parte de arquitecto e ingeniero que se muestra en faxes de obra respecto a un detalle de la vivienda permite reflexionar en este sentido.The article explores the relationship between transcription and intuition in the architect’s work. Oiza’s interpretation on Le Corbusier’s definition of architecture shows mediation as obvious form of relationship between the proposed terms. This mediation becomes the primary mission of the architect. Consideration of two early examples of homes developed by Le Corbusier shows this approach as a plea in defense of the role of the architect. The current interest of this approach allows to analyze contemporary works, such as Maison à Bordeaux by Rem Koolhaas. The different consideration given by architect and engineer regarding a detail of the housing, and shown on faxes from work, allows for reflection in this way.Peer Reviewe
