CORROSION INVESTIGATION OF STEEL REINFORCEMENTS IN THE PRESENCE OF VARIOUS ADDITIVES AND INHIBITORS

The corrosion of steel reinforcement was investigated in the presence of various chloride contents and inhibitors. The corrosion sensitivities of steel reinforcements of ten different qualities were determined via polarization potential measurements. The inhibitor effects of two organosilicon compounds soluble in water were tested in saturated Ca(OHh solu- tions containing chloridein various concentrations. A potassium-methyl-siliconate-based inhibitor was found to reduce the aggressiw effect of chloride. The positive results ob- tained in model solutions were also verified by a test series carried out with concrete specimens. The critical value of chloride ion concentration was determined: up to a chlo- ride content of 2%, a dose of :3% of the tested inhibitor ensures corrosion protection of steel reinforcements of various qualities

The activity of the research group for biologically active organosilicon compounds is de- scribed in the paper. The group is concerned with the investigation of silatranes and their derivatives, N,N'-diarylcyclodisilazanes, silaarylalkylamines. The compounds were synthesized and studied by X-ray diffraction and different spectroscopic techniques

The aim of this work was to investigate the mass-spectrometric properties of in ring substituted silatranes. We found that in trimethylsilatranes the [M-R]+ ion (m/z = 216) is the basispeak. In silatranones the CO2 fragment leaves first and the basispeak is the [M-CO2]+ ion. In carba-silatranes we found two basic procedures depending on R. In some cases the basispeak is the [M-R] + ion, but sometimes one of the rings opens and the basispeak is the [M-C2H5]+ ion
