AIM: To investigate the safe and reliable examination method for neonatal fundus screening.<p>METHODS: Fundus information of 2 836 neonates performed by RetCamⅡ in our hospital from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012 were retrospectively analyzed, including 1 625 cases(57.30%)of premature infants which were first examined 1-4 weeks after birth and 1 211 cases(42.70%)of term infants which were first examined within 4 weeks after birth.<p>RESULTS: Totally 454 cases of abnormalfundus were found, including 207 cases(12.74%)of retinopathy of prematurity(ROP), ROPⅠ in 118 cases(57%), ROPⅡ in 58 cases(28.02%), ROPⅢ in 23 cases(11.11%), ROPⅣ in 8 cases(3.86%), no case of ROPV. A total of 247(20.40%)term infants had abnormal fundus, of which 68 cases(27.53%)were developmental or hereditary disease, retinoblastoma in 1 case(0.40%), retinal hemorrhage in 102 cases(41.30%), retinal exudative changes in 68 cases(27.53%), optic atrophy in 5 cases(2.02%)and optic disc edema in 3 cases(1.21%).<p>CONCLUSION: Neonatal fundus diseases were so various and harmful that early screening should be attended to. Premature infants and term infants with high risk are treated as focus group of fundus screening and RetCamII examination is safe and effective

Inclusive χcJ\chi_{cJ} production in Υ\Upsilon decay at O(αs5)\mathcal{O}(\alpha_s^5) in NRQCD factorization

Inclusive χcJ\chi_{cJ} (J=0,1,2)(J=0,1,2) production from Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) decay is studied within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) factorization at leading order in vQ2v_Q^2, which includes the contributions of bbˉ(3S1[1])ccˉ(3PJ[1])+Xb\bar{b}({}^3S_1^{[1]})\to c\bar{c}(^3P_J^{[1]})+X and bbˉ(3S1[1])ccˉ(3S1[8])+Xb\bar{b}({}^3S_1^{[1]})\to c\bar{c}(^3S_1^{[8]})+X. For both channels, the short-distance coefficients are calculated through O(αs5){\cal O}(\alpha_s^5), which is next-to-leading order for the second one. By fitting to the measured Υ(1S)\Upsilon(1S) branching fractions to χc1\chi_{c1} and χc2\chi_{c2}, we obtain the color-octet long-distance matrix element (LDME) Oχc0(3S1[8])=(4.04±0.470.34+0.67)×103\langle\mathcal{O}^{\chi_{c0}}({}^3S_1^{[8]})\rangle =(4.04\pm0.47_{-0.34}^{+0.67})\times10^{-3} GeV3^3, where the first error is experimental and the second one due to the renormalization scale dependence, if we use as input Oχc0(3P0[1])=0.107\langle\mathcal{O}^{\chi_{c0}}({}^3P_0^{[1]})\rangle=0.107 GeV5^5 as obtained via potential-model analysis. Previous LDME sets, extracted from data of prompt χcJ\chi_{cJ} hadroproduction, yield theoretical predictions that systematically undershoot or mildly overshoot the experimental values of B(ΥχcJ+X)\mathcal{B}(\Upsilon\to \chi_{cJ}+X).Comment: 10 pages, 8 figures, minor changes, matches journal versio

Few-Body Systems Composed of Heavy Quarks

Within the past ten years many new hadrons states were observed experimentally, some of which do not fit into the conventional quark model. I will talk about the few-body systems composed of heavy quarks, including the charmonium-like states and some loosely bound states.Comment: Plenary talk at the 20th International IUPAP Conference on Few-Body Problems in Physics, to appear in Few Body Systems (2013

Strong Lensing Probabilities in a Cosmological Model with a Running Primordial Power Spectrum

The combination of the first-year Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) data with other finer scale cosmic microwave background (CMB) experiments (CBI and ACBAR) and two structure formation measurements (2dFGRS and Lyman α\alpha forest) suggest a Λ\LambdaCDM cosmological model with a running spectral power index of primordial density fluctuations. Motivated by this new result on the index of primordial power spectrum, we present the first study on the predicted lensing probabilities of image separation in a spatially flat Λ\LambdaCDM model with a running spectral index (RSI-Λ\LambdaCDM model). It is shown that the RSI-Λ\LambdaCDM model suppress the predicted lensing probabilities on small splitting angles of less than about 4^{''} compared with that of standard power-law Λ\LambdaCDM (PL-Λ\LambdaCDM) model.Comment: 11 pages including 1 figures. Peripheral Leukocytapheresis Attenuates Acute Lung Injury Induced by Lipopolysaccharide In Vivo

The mortality of acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ALI/ARDS) remains high and efforts for prevention and treatments have shown little improvement over the past decades. The present study investigated the efficacy and mechanism of leukocytapheresis (LCAP) to partially eliminate peripheral neutrophils and attenuate lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced lung injury in dogs. A total of 24 healthy male mongrel dogs were enrolled and randomly divided into LPS, LCAP and LCAP-sham groups. All animals were injected with LPS to induce endotoxemia. The serum levels of leucocytes, neutrophil elastase, arterial blood gas, nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) subunit p65 in lung tissues were measured. The histopathology and parenchyma apoptosis of lung tissues were examined. We found that 7, 3, and 7 animals in the LPS, LCAP, and sham-LCAP groups, respectively, developed ALI 36 h after LPS infusion. The levels of NF-κB p65 in lung tissue, neutrophils and elastase in blood, decreased significantly following LCAP. LCAP also alleviated apoptosis, and NF-κB p65 in lung tissues. Collectively, our results show that partial removal of leucocytes from peripheral blood decreases elastase level in serum. This, in turn, attenuates lung injuries and may potentially decrease the incidence of ALI

Zb(10610)±Z_b(10610)^\pm and Zb(10650)±Z_b(10650)^\pm as the BBˉB^*\bar{B} and BBˉB^*\bar{B}^{*} molecular states

In the framework of the one-boson-exchange model, we have studied the interaction of the BBˉB^*\bar{B} and BBˉB^*\bar{B}^{*} system. After considering the S-wave and D-wave mixing, we notice that both Zb(10610)±Z_b(10610)^\pm and Zb(10650)±Z_b(10650)^\pm can be interpreted as the BBˉB^*\bar{B} and BBˉB^*\bar{B}^{*} molecular states quite naturally. Within the same framework, there also exist several molecular charmonia including X(3872) and several other molecular bottomonia, which are the partners of Zb(10610)Z_b(10610) and Zb(10650)Z_b(10650). The long-range one-pion-exchange force alone is strong enough to form these loosely bound molecular states, which ensures the numerical results quite model-independent and robust.Comment: 11 pages, 6 table
