Literature Study on the Role of Islamic Education in the Formation of Student Character in Multicultural Higher Education
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran Pendidikan Islam (Pendidikan Agama Islam, atau PAI) dalam membentuk karakter mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi multikultural Indonesia. Studi literatur ini mengeksplorasi dampak Pendidikan Agama Islam terhadap pengembangan karakter mahasiswa, dengan fokus pada pendekatan pedagogis, integrasi nilai multikultural, dan strategi yang dapat mendorong toleransi serta pemahaman antarbudaya. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa PAI memiliki kontribusi signifikan dalam menumbuhkan sifat-sifat seperti toleransi, kejujuran, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Namun, efektivitas PAI sering kali dipengaruhi oleh dukungan institusi, kompetensi pengajar, serta tantangan globalisasi dan era digital. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan dasar untuk mengembangkan program pendidikan Islam yang relevan dan inovatif untuk menciptakan individu yang tidak hanya unggul secara akademis tetapi juga berkarakter mulia dan mampu berkontribusi dalam masyarakat multikultura

Children mortality in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU): An Overview
Introduction: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), is unit of care spesifically for children who have critical medical condition. Critical condition experienced by children treated at PICU are inseparable from emergencies and can be at risk of death. Even though the child mortality rate has decreased every year, the incidence of mortality in the PICU is still a large contributor to the death of children at this time. Objective: To identify characteristics of children mortality in the PICU hospital unit Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar. Method: This study was an analytic survey using a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling. Results: The study of 53 children medical records showed that the average respondent aged 59 months (SD 69.29) experienced death, length of stay of respondents who experienced death was 7.94 days (SD 9,69), the neurological status of patients at the beginning of admission shows the value of 11.43 (SD 4,496). Patients with a diagnosis of sepsis showed the highest mortality in this study. Conclusion: Respondents with infant categories, mild neurological status at the admission of PICU, used mechanical ventilators as oxygen devices, have the highest frequency of mortality in PICU. Hence, this study suggested to the other researcher to examine the variables that relate to child mortality in PICU for revealed as a whole
Ethnopedagogy in the Light of the Philosophy of Science of Islamic Education
Ethnopedagogy is an educational approach that integrates local values, traditions and cultures in the teaching and learning process. It aims to make education more relevant to people's lives and strengthen learners' cultural identity. Relevance to Islamic Education In Islamic education, ethnopedagogy helps connect local cultural values with Islamic teachings. Shaping learners' Islamic character through local traditions, such as gotong royong and deliberation. Instilling spiritual and moral values in the cultural context of the community. Contributions to ethnopedagogy character building in Islamic education are increasing awareness of cultural and Islamic identity. Integrating local wisdom that is in line with Islamic principles, such as harmony with nature and manners. Strengthening Islamic character through cultural and religious role models. Implementation Challenges Indonesia's cultural diversity is complex and diverse. Lack of teacher understanding of the concept of ethnopedagogy. The dominance of the national curriculum which lacks flexibility for local content. Conflict between certain local traditions and Islamic values. Community resistance to the integration of local culture in education. Research Methods This research uses a qualitative approach and literature review, relying on observation techniques, interviews, documentation, and local culture-based data analysis in Islamic education. Conclusion Ethnopedagogy and the philosophy of science of Islamic education complement each other in shaping education that: Values cultural diversity. Build learners' identity based on Islamic values and local culture. Make education more relevant, meaningful and contextual. This approach requires policy support, teacher training, local culture-based teaching materials, and collaboration between stakeholders
