IMPROVING STUDENTS LISTENING COMPREHENSION AT SMKN 1 TANAH GROGOT EAST KALIMANTAN USING DICTOGLOSS STRATEGY
The research aims to determine whether the dictogloss strategy improves listening comprehension at SMKN 1 Tanah Grogot or not. The design of this research is quasi-experimental. The population of this research was the students of SMK N 1 Tanah Grogot and the samples of this research were the students of class XI BD and class XI BR. The research employed two classes as samples: the experimental group received instruction through dictogloss strategy, whereas the control group was taught using the team listening strategy. To determine the improvement in dictogloss, the collected data was submitted to a paired sample t-test using IBM SPSS Statistics 25. After collecting the data to a paired samples t-test, the researcher found that there was a significant difference in the mean scores between pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental class, The value of (Sig.) (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, listening using the dictogloss strategy in the experimental class improved as shown by the mean of the pre-test and post-test scores namely the mean score of the pre-test (57.08) was lower than the post-test (82.08). This means that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted so that there is an improvement in the listening of students taught with dictogloss strategy. In conclusion, there is a difference in the improvement of listening comprehension between the two groups due to the implementation of the dictogloss strategy
