Viscous Liquid Layer Sandwiched Between Two Generalized Thermoelastic Halfspaces
A detailed investigation of waves in a viscous liquid layer of finite thickness sandwiched between two generalized thermoelastic halfspaces reveals the fact that for realistic situations one has to consider the effect of gravity at least in the liquid layer
Note on a Viscoelastic Convection Flow
A mathematical analysis of the free convection flow of an inwmpressibk viscoelastic (Rivlin-Ericksen) fluid from an infinite flat plate under variable suction acted upon by a transverse magnetic field is presented. It is found that the effect of viscoelasticity is to appreciably alter the skin-friction
SURFACE WAVES OVER A THERMODIFFUSIVE HALFSPACE.
Surface waves of Rayleigh-type and related excited-types over a thermodiffusive halfspace are mathematically analysed following the basic theory set forth by Nowacki (in the early seventies) using well-established techniques. The results incorporated illustrate that well-known results of thermomechanics could be extended to yield results of thermodiffusive mechanics of matter
On elastodiffusive vibrations of a cylinder
In this paper, a solution to the problem of elastodiffusive vibrations of a circular cylinder, in the form of an infinite series, is developed and analysed to find the modifications to the classical Pochhammer-Chree velocity. These are obtained as rational approximations involving quadratic factors. Numerical investigations carried out reflect salient features in some common metals
A note on a Couette flow of a dusty fluid
The study of the flow of a viscous incompressible dusty fluid between two parallel plates is undertaken, one of the plates being stationary and the other being impulsively brought to rest from a uniform motion parallel to itself detailing the effects of gravity. © 1983 Società Italiana di Fisica
