Low-scale leptogenesis and soft supersymmetry breaking
We investigate the possibility of low-scale leptogenesis in the minimal
supersymmetric standard model extended with right handed (s)neutrinos. We
demonstrate that successful leptogenesis can be easily achieved at a scale as
low as ~ TeV where lepton number and CP violation comes from soft supersymmetry
breaking terms. The scenario is shown to be compatible with neutrino masses
data.Comment: 4 pages, revtex, uses axodraw. Minor changes to match acccepted

New Analysis of the Delta I = 1/2 Rule in Kaon Decays and the B_K Parameter
We present a new analysis of the Delta I = 1/2 rule in K --> pi pi decays and
the B_K parameter. We use the 1/N_c expansion within the effective chiral
lagrangian for pseudoscalar mesons and compute the hadronic matrix elements at
leading and next-to-leading order in the chiral and the 1/N_c expansions.
Numerically, our calculation reproduces the dominant Delta I = 1/2 K --> pi pi
amplitude. Our result depends only moderately on the choice of the cutoff scale
in the chiral loops. The Delta I = 3/2 amplitude emerges sufficiently
suppressed but shows a significant dependence on the cutoff. The B_K parameter
turns out to be smaller than the value previously obtained in the 1/N_c
approach. It also shows a significant dependence on the choice of the cutoff
scale. Our results indicate that corrections from higher order terms and/or
higher resonances are large for the Delta I = 3/2 K --> pi pi amplitude and the
(|Delta S| = 2) K^0 -- anti K^0 transition amplitude.Comment: 50 pages, LaTeX, 13 eps figure
Trilepton Signals in the Inert Doublet Model
In this work, we investigate the prospects for detecting the Inert Doublet
Model via the trilepton channel at the LHC. We present a set of representative
benchmark scenarios in which all applicable constraints are satisfied, and show
that in some of these scenarios, it is possible to obtain a signal at the 5
sigma significance level or better with integrated luminosity of 300 fb^{-1}.Comment: 15 pages, ReVTeX, 3 figures, 5 tables
Inert Doublet Model and LEP II Limits
The inert doublet model is a minimal extension of the standard model
introducing an additional SU(2) doublet with new scalar particles that could be
produced at accelerators. While there exists no LEP II analysis dedicated for
these inert scalars, the absence of a signal within searches for supersymmetric
neutralinos can be used to constrain the inert doublet model. This translation
however requires some care because of the different properties of the inert
scalars and the neutralinos. We investigate what restrictions an existing
DELPHI collaboration study of neutralino pair production can put on the inert
scalars and discuss the result in connection with dark matter. We find that
although an important part of the inert doublet model parameter space can be
excluded by the LEP II data, the lightest inert particle still constitutes a
valid dark matter candidate.Comment: 12 pages, 9 figures; v2: published versio
Supersymmetric Higgs Triplets and Bilinear R-Parity Nonconservation
The supersymmetric standard model of particle interactions is extended to
include two Higgs triplet superfields at the TeV scale, carrying two units of
lepton number. Realistic tree-level Majorana neutrino masses are obtained in
the presence of soft, i.e. bilinear, R-parity nonconservation.Comment: 5 pages, no figur
Analyzing epsilon'/epsilon in the 1/N_c Expansion
We present a recent analysis of epsilon'/epsilon in the 1/N_c expansion. We
show that the 1/N_c corrections to the matrix element of Q_6 are large and
positive, indicating a Delta I=1/2 enhancement similar to the one of Q_1 and
Q_2 which dominate the CP conserving amplitude. This enhances the CP ratio and
can bring the standard model prediction close to the measured value for central
values of the parameters.Comment: One reference corrected. 5 pages, talk presented by P.H. Soldan at

A simple SU(5) model with unification near the Planck scale
We study unification in the SU(5) model with an extra Dirac multiplet in the
representation. After spontaneous symmetry breaking we have at low
energies a singlet, a colorless triplet and a neutral color-octet. All other
particles can be taken at the unification scale. This combination leads to a
unification very near the Planck scale. The triplet is light, its neutral
component is a dark matter candidate. The model is in agreement with a recently
derived anomaly condition, that implies that the number of (Weyl)-fermions has
to be a multiple of 16.Comment: 6 page
