The interface design of the website follows human computer interaction (HCI) design guidelines and based on the review of existing WWI related websites. Considering the majority of users of the website are elderly people, the website especially provides features to support the elderly users. The website will not only contribute to the museum digital transformation project on WWI, but also improve the connection between the museum and the local community through widening the participation

    Spatiotemporal variation of habitat quality and its response to fractional vegetation cover change and human disturbance in the Loess Plateau

    It is of great practical significance to regional ecological conservation and restoration to explore the spatiotemporal variation characteristics of habitat quality in the ecologically fragile Loess Plateau. This study firstly explored the habitat quality in the Loess Plateau during 2000-2020 with the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Trade-offs model. Then this study revealed the response characteristics of habitat quality to the fractional vegetation cover (FVC) change and human disturbance with the geographically weighted regression (GWR) model. Results showed habitat quality tended to improve in 51.16% of the study area, and area of high or very high habitat quality increased by 1.78%. Besides, FVC showed dominantly significant increase (62.42%) and high stability (69.66%) in the study area, and human disturbance increased remarkably in 18.11% of the study area but maintained the same level in 91.83% of the study area. Additionally, areas with positive correlation between habitat quality change and FVC and between habitat quality change and human disturbance change accounted for 52.56% and 37.38% of the study area, respectively, indicating FVC played dominant role in affecting the regional habitat quality variation. This study can provide important decision support information for the future ecological conservation of the Loess Plateau

    Land Cover Mapping Based on Multisource Spatial Data Mining Approach for Climate Simulation: A Case Study in the Farming-Pastoral Ecotone of North China

    The land use and land cover change (LUCC) is one of the prime driving forces of climate change. Most attention has been paid to the influence of accuracy of the land cover data in numerous climate simulation projects. The accuracy of the temporal land use data from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is higher than 90%, but the high-precision land cover data is absent. We overlaid land cover maps from different sources, and the grids with consistent classification were selected as the sample grids. By comparing the results obtained with different decision tree classifiers with the WEKA toolkit for data mining, it was found that the C4.5 algorithm was more suitable for converting land use data of CAS classification to land cover data of IGBP classification. We reset the decision rules with Net Primary Productivity (NPP) and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) as the indicators. The accuracy of the reclassified land cover data was proven to reach 83.14% through comparing with the Terrestrial Ecosystem Monitoring Sites and high resolution images. Therefore, it is feasible to produce the temporal land cover data with this method, which can be used as the parameters of dynamical downscaling in the regional climate simulation

    How empowering leadership influences medical workers' work–family conflict in the post-pandemic era: A moderated mediation model of leadership “black box”

    After experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic, the status and mechanisms of leadership, and the challenges for medical workers in terms of family–work conflicts, have caused widespread concern. In the post-pandemic era, based on role theory and the stressor-detachment model, this paper seeks to break the “black box” of negative effects that can be caused by leadership, research the mechanism and boundary conditions of those negative effects, and explore factors to reduce those negative effects. We recruited 1,010 Chinese medical workers fighting COVID-19 on the frontline. Our study results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between empowering leadership and work–family conflict, and this relationship was completely mediated by role stress, while psychological detachment moderated the relationship between role stress and work–family conflict. Moreover, psychological detachment moderated the mediating effect of empowering leadership on work–family conflict through role stress. Therefore, higher levels of psychological detachment were less conducive to medical workers' family–work conflict. This study has important theoretical significance and practical value for revealing the negative effects and mechanisms of empowering leadership and for medical workers to better deal with work–family relations

    Impacts of Cultivated Land Reclamation on the Climate and Grain Production in Northeast China in the Future 30 Years

    China, as a large agricultural country as well as a major country with great demand for grain, has played a more and more important role in the international grain market. As Northeast China is one of the major commodity grain bases in China as well as one of the regions with the highest intensity of human activities, it plays an important role in influencing the global food security. This study first generally analyzed the cultivated land reclamation and the climate change of temperature and precipitation in Northeast China during 2000–2010. Then, on the basis of these data, the climatic effects of cultivated land reclamation in Northeast China during 2030–2040 were simulated by the weather research forecast (WRF) model. Finally, the possible effects of the climate change on the grain yield and the potential influence on the food security were analyzed. The simulation result indicated that the temperature in Northeast China would be increasing on the whole, while the precipitation would be decreasing. The result of this study can provide some theoretical support to the agricultural economic development in Northeast China and serve the national macropolicy and food security strategy of the whole China

    Astragaloside IV Protects Rat Cardiomyocytes from Hypoxia-Induced Injury by Down-Regulation of miR-23a and miR-92a

    Background/Aims: Astragaloside IV (AS-IV), a traditional Chinese medicine isolated from Astragalus membranaceus, has been shown to exert cardioprotective effect previously. This study aimed to reveal the effects of AS-IV on hypoxia-injured cardiomyocyte. Methods: H9c2 cells were treated with various doses of AS-IV for 24 h upon hypoxia. CCK-8 assay, flow cytometry/Western blot, and qRT-PCR were respectively conducted to measure the changes in cell viability, apoptosis, and the expression of miR-23a and miR-92a. Sprague–Dawley rats were received coronary ligation, and were administrated by various doses of AS-IV for 14 days. The infarct volume and outcome of rats followed by ligation were tested by ultrasound, arteriopuncture and nitrotetrazolium blue chloride (NBT) staining. Results: We found that 10 μg/ml of AS-IV exerted myocardioprotective effects against hypoxia-induced cell damage, as AS-IV significantly increased H9c2 cells viability and decreased apoptosis. Interestingly, the myocardioprotective effects of AS-IV were alleviated by miR-23a and/or miR-92a overexpression. Knockdown of miR-23a and miR-92a activated PI3K/AKT and MAPK/ ERK signaling pathways. Bcl-2 was a target gene for miR-23a, and BCL2L2 was a target gene for miR-92a. In the animal model of myocardial infarction (MI), AS-IV significantly reduced the infarct volume, ejection fraction (EF), shortening fraction (FS) and LV systolic pressure (LVSP), and significantly increased left ventricular end-diastolic internal diameter (LVEDd). And also, the elevated expression of miR-23a and miR-92a in MI rat was reduced by AS-IV. Conclusion: AS-IV protected cardiomyocytes against hypoxia-induced injury possibly via down-regulation of miR-23a and miR-92a, and via activation of PI3K/AKT and MAPK/ERK signaling pathways
