Modeling the longitudinal wall impedance instability in heavy ion beams using an R-C pic code
The effects of the longitudinal wall impedance instability in a heavy ion beam are of great interest for heavy ion fusion drivers. We are studying this instability using the R-Z thread of the WARP PIC code. We describe the code and our model of the impedance due to the accelerating modules of the induction LINAC as a resistive wall. One-loop Effective Potential for a Fixed Charged Self-interacting Bosonic Model at Finite Temperature with its Related Multiplicative Anomaly
The one-loop partition function for a charged self-interacting Bose gas at
finite temperature in D-dimensional spacetime is evaluated within a path
integral approach making use of zeta-function regularization. For D even, a new
additional vacuum term ---overlooked in all previous treatments and coming from
the multiplicative anomaly related to functional determinants-- is found and
its dependence on the mass and chemical potential is obtained. The presence of
the new term is shown to be crucial for having the factorization invariance of
the regularized partition function. In the non interacting case, the
relativistic Bose-Einstein condensation is revisited. By means of a suitable
charge renormalization, for D=4 the symmetry breaking phase is shown to be
unaffected by the new term, which, however, gives actually rise to a non

Radiative Corrections to the Vertex and Constraints on Extended Higgs Sectors
We explore the radiative corrections to the process in
models with extended Higgs sectors. The observables and the coupling asymmetry, , are sensitive to these corrections. We
present general formulae for the one-loop corrections to and in an
arbitrary extended Higgs sector, and derive explicit results for a number of
specific models. We find that in models containing only doublets, singlets, or
larger multiplets constrained by a custodial symmetry so that at tree level, the one-loop corrections due to virtual
charged Higgs bosons always worsen agreement with experiment. The
measurement can be used to set lower bounds on the charged Higgs masses.
Constraints on models due to the one-loop contributions of neutral Higgs bosons

Complete High Temperature Expansions for One-Loop Finite Temperature Effects
We develop exact, simple closed form expressions for partition functions
associated with relativistic bosons and fermions in odd spatial dimensions.
These expressions, valid at high temperature, include the effects of a
non-trivial Polyakov loop and generalize well-known high temperature
expansions. The key technical point is the proof of a set of Bessel function
identities which resum low temperature expansions into high temperature
expansions. The complete expressions for these partition functions can be used
to obtain one-loop finite temperature contributions to effective potentials,

The one-loop renormalization of the MSSM Higgs sector and its application to the neutral scalar Higgs masses
The structure of the Higgs sector in the minimal supersymmetric standard
model is reviewed at the one-loop level. An on-shell renormalization scheme of
the MSSM Higgs sector is presented in detail together with the complete list of
formulae for the neutral Higgs masses at the one-loop level. The results of a
complete one- loop calculation for the mass spectrum of the neutral MSSM Higgs
bosons and the quality of simpler Born-like approximations are discussed for

Higgs and SUSY Searches at LHC
I start with a brief introduction to Higgs mechanism and supersymmetry. Then
I discuss the theoretical expectations, current limits and search strategies
for Higgs boson(s) at LHC --- first in the SM and then in the MSSM. Finally I

at Hadron Colliders
We study the observability for a lepton flavor-changing decay of a Higgs
boson at hadron colliders. Flavor-changing couplings of a Higgs
boson exist at tree level in models with multiple Higgs doublets. The
coupling is particularly motivated by the favorable intepretation of
oscillation. We find that at the Tevatron Run II the unique
signature could serve as the Higgs discovery channel, surpassing
expectations for Higgs boson searches in the SM and in a large parameter region
of the MSSM. The sensitivity will be greatly improved at the LHC, beyond the
coverage at a muon collider Higgs factory.Comment: Version to appear in PR
