Homological Localisation of Model Categories
One of the most useful methods for studying the stable homotopy category is localising at some spectrum E. For an arbitrary stable model category we introduce a candidate
for the Eâlocalisation of this model category. We study the properties of this new construction and relate it to some wellâknown categories
Comparison of five different RNA sources to examine the lactating bovine mammary gland transcriptome using RNA-Sequencing.
The objective of this study was to examine five different sources of RNA, namely mammary gland tissue (MGT), milk somatic cells (SC), laser microdissected mammary epithelial cells (LCMEC), milk fat globules (MFG) and antibody-captured milk mammary epithelial cells (mMEC) to analyze the bovine mammary gland transcriptome using RNA-Sequencing. Our results provide a comparison between different sampling methods (invasive and non-invasive) to define the transcriptome of mammary gland tissue and milk cells. This information will be of value to investigators in choosing the most appropriate sampling method for different research applications to study specific physiological states during lactation. One of the simplest procedures to study the transcriptome associated with milk appears to be the isolation of total RNA directly from SC or MFG released into milk during lactation. Our results indicate that the SC and MFG transcriptome are representative of MGT and LCMEC and can be used as effective and alternative samples to study mammary gland expression without the need to perform a tissue biopsy
Inhibiting tryptophan metabolism enhances interferon therapy in kidney cancer.
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is increasing in incidence, and a complete cure remains elusive. While immune-checkpoint antibodies are promising, interferon-based immunotherapy has been disappointing. Tryptophan metabolism, which produces immunosuppressive metabolites, is enhanced in RCC. Here we show indolamine-2,3-dioxygenase-1 (IDO1) expression, a kynurenine pathway enzyme, is increased not only in tumor cells but also in the microenvironment of human RCC compared to normal kidney tissues. Neither kynurenine metabolites nor IDO inhibitors affected the survival or proliferation of human RCC or murine renal cell adenocarcinoma (RENCA) cells in vitro. However, interferon-gamma (IFNγ) induced high levels of IDO1 in both RCC and RENCA cells, concomitant with enhanced kynurenine levels in conditioned media. Induction of IDO1 by IFNα was weaker than by IFNγ. Neither the IDO1 inhibitor methyl-thiohydantoin-DL-tryptophan (MTH-trp) nor IFNα alone inhibited RENCA tumor growth, however the combination of MTH-trp and IFNα reduced tumor growth compared to IFNα. Thus, the failure of IFNα therapy for human RCC is likely due to its inability to overcome the immunosuppressive environment created by increased IDO1. Based on our data, and given that IDO inhibitors are already in clinical trials for other malignancies, IFNα therapy with an IDO inhibitor should be revisited for RCC
An analogue study examining Attitude Change Theory and its implications for dissemination and implementation of empirically supported treatments
Despite the promise of research-based treatments, dissemination into community settings has been problematic. Attitudes toward these treatments may be partially responsible for the slow uptake. Building on the functional theory of attitudes, it was hypothesized that presenting emotion-focused rather than cognitively-focused information about a treatment would produce more positive attitudes toward the treatment in individuals interested in clinical practice. To test this hypothesis, 144 students (116 women; Mage = 22.46 years) completed a measure of vocational interest and evaluated a treatment after reading either an emotional or cognitive passage about the treatment. Consistent with the hypothesis, participantsâ interests in clinical activities were related to more favorable reactions to the emotional passage but not the cognitive passage. This effect was partially mediated by message elaboration. Findings suggest that presenting clinicians with emotionally rich information on treatment options may help bridge the gap between research and practice
Excision for simplicial sheaves on the Stein site and Gromov's Oka principle
A complex manifold satisfies the Oka-Grauert property if the inclusion

paper is to investigate the Oka-Grauert property using homotopical algebra. We
embed the category of complex manifolds into the model category of simplicial
sheaves on the site of Stein manifolds. Our main result is that the Oka-Grauert
property is equivalent to representing a finite homotopy sheaf on the Stein
site. This expresses the Oka-Grauert property in purely holomorphic terms,

Homotopy Theoretic Models of Type Theory
We introduce the notion of a logical model category which is a Quillen model
category satisfying some additional conditions. Those conditions provide enough
expressive power that one can soundly interpret dependent products and sums in
it. On the other hand, those conditions are easy to check and provide a wide

A model structure for coloured operads in symmetric spectra
We describe a model structure for coloured operads with values in the
category of symmetric spectra (with the positive model structure), in which
fibrations and weak equivalences are defined at the level of the underlying
collections. This allows us to treat R-module spectra (where R is a cofibrant
ring spectrum) as algebras over a cofibrant spectrum-valued operad with R as
its first term. Using this model structure, we give suficient conditions for
homotopical localizations in the category of symmetric spectra to preserve

Morita base change in Hopf-cyclic (co)homology
In this paper, we establish the invariance of cyclic (co)homology of left
Hopf algebroids under the change of Morita equivalent base algebras. The
classical result on Morita invariance for cyclic homology of associative
algebras appears as a special example of this theory. In our main application
we consider the Morita equivalence between the algebra of complex-valued smooth
functions on the classical 2-torus and the coordinate algebra of the
noncommutative 2-torus with rational parameter. We then construct a Morita base
change left Hopf algebroid over this noncommutative 2-torus and show that its
cyclic (co)homology can be computed by means of the homology of the Lie
