Correlation of low speed wind tunnel and flight test data for V/STOL aircraft
The XV-5B fan-in-wing aircraft and the Y0V-10 RCF rotating cylinder flap aircraft were subjected to wind tunnel tests. These tests were conducted specifically to provide for correlation between wind tunnel and inflight aerodynamics and noise test data. Correlation between aerodynamic and noise data are presented and testing techniques that are related to the accuracy of the data, or that might affect the correlations, are discussed

United States v. Gila Valley Irrigation District
Attempts to alter water use agreements, especially those spanning back decades or even centuries, elicit intense scrutiny from water rights holders. In United States v. Gila Valley Irrigation Dist., the Ninth Circuit upheld application of a 1935 Decree apportioning water among various regional entities, including two Indian tribes, to bar a mineral company from transferring water rights between properties within the Gila River drainage
Asarco LLC v. Atlantic Richfield Company
The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liabiltiy Act, commonly known as CERCLA, facilitates cleanup of hazardous waste sites and those contaminated by other harmful substances by empowering the Environmental Protection Agency to identify responsible parties and require them to undertake or fund remediation. Because pollution sometimes occurrs over long periods of time by multiple parties, CERCLA also enables polluters to seek financial contribution from other contaminators of a particular site. The Ninth Circuit clarified the particuar circumstances under which contribution actions may arise in Asarco LLC v. Atlantic Richfield Co., holding non-CERCLA settlements may give rise to CERCLA contribution actions, and corrective measures imposed under different environmental statutes may qualify as response actions required for a responsible party to seek contribution from another. In addition, the court clarified what constitutes resolved liability in such situations, another prerequisite for contribution actions. That final determination led it to vacate a district court’s grant of summary judgment in favor of Atlantic Richfield based on an erroneous conclusion that Asarco, in seeking financial contribution from Atlantic Fichfield for remediating a CERCLA site both had contaminated, exceeded the applicable statute of limitations. The case was thus remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion
The Phenomenal Characteristics of the Son-Father Relationship Experience
The purpose of this exploratory study is to examine what the son-father relationship experience feels like (the phenomenology of the son-father relationship), and how the relationship experience affects leadership development, specifically in the son.I chose to reverse the order of the typical reference on this topic (father-son) in order to emphasize the significance of the son (role) being the central character or object of interest, even in instances where the character is a father in addition to being a son.Additionally, it should be noted that all fathers are sons, but not all sons are fathers (biologically, and/or socially, and/or conceptually). My central research question is:How is leadership development influenced by the phenomenological characteristics of the son-father relationship experience?I address this question through a series of interviews with adolescent boys age 17 and men between 18 and 45 years of age.The foundation of my interview protocol is built on a series of theory-based questions (Wengraf, 2001) that are outlined below.Analysis of these interviews is presented along with a comparative review of the scholarly literature on leadership development in adolescents. The primary value of this research is its applicability to youth leadership development programs with respect to the potential to add an emphasis on values and practices that cultivate healthy sustainable relationships that are consistent with responsible and effective parent involvement and planning, family leadership, and community support. While there is considerable consideration being acknowledged to an anecdotal connection between how boys are, or should be, affected by the leadership qualities of their fathers, very little was articulated about how the participants felt their own leadership development was influenced by the relationship experience, particularly juxtaposed to the amount of attention the participants spent on describing their feelings and emotions about their son-father relationship experience. In this respect, what is particularly noteworthy is the richness of the interviews with respect to the participant’s accounts of the phenomenal characteristics of the son-father relationship experience, including how sons articulate their feelings about the relationship, at and over time. This dissertation is accompanied by an Author’s Introduction supplemental file [mp4].The electronic version of this Dissertation is at OhioLink ETD Center, www.ohiolink.edu/et
User's guide for the Nimbus 7 ERB Solar Analysis Tape (ESAT)
Five years of Nimbus 7 ERB solar data is available in compact form on a single ERB solar analysis tape (ESAT). The period covered is November 16, 1978 through October 31, 1983. The Nimbus 7 satellite performs just under 14 orbits a day and the ERB solar telescope observe the Sun once per orbit as the satellite passes + or - near the south pole. The data were carefully calibrated and screened. Mean orbital and daily values are given for the total solar irradiance plus selected spectral intervals. In addition, selected solar activity indicators are on the tape. The ERB experiment, the solar data calibration and screening procedures, the solar activity indicators, and the tape format are described briefly
Effects of Occupational Violence and Aggression on Teacher Wellbeing in Australian Schools: A Meta-Analysis
Occupational violence and aggression (OVA) is an extremely prevalent and concerning issue in all school contexts around the world. International research highlights high prevalence rates of OVA against teachers and identifies a wide range of alarming impacts of OVA on teacher wellbeing. These impacts include risk of anxiety, depression, PTSD, poor sleep, stress, burnout, poor job performance and leaving the profession. The topic of OVA in Australia has been increasing in the media over recent years, as well as the introduction of new OVA prevention strategies. A systematic literature review was conducted to critically analyse and synthesise all of the current available Australian research on the impacts of OVA on teacher wellbeing. The main findings identified that there is a major lack in Australian research and that there are physical and psychological impacts to the many teachers who experience OVA in Australia. This study highlights the gap in Australian research about the effects of occupational violence and aggression on teacher wellbeing, and highlights the need for further in-depth research in Australia
